His name is Chris Rodden and we would highly recommend him. He has done work for us a number of times. He's very professional and he seems to be a good problem solver. His prices are reasonable. He does good work and doesn't leave holes all over the place. He does nice work and gets it done.

The whole experience went very well. Chris was hard working, honest, and competent. I would recommend him to anyone--in fact, I already did tonight.

Chris Rodden was highly responsive from the first phone contact to request an estimate through to final inspection of the work by the city inspector. He devoted a couple of hours to developing the estimate by examining each room, making suggestions for number and placement of outlets and other design considerations necessary for meeting code, and asking us may times for our thoughts to confirm his understanding of our needs. Chris' expertise with modernizing wiring in older houses (ours is 100 years old) was apparent in the preparation of the estimate and in the work which followed. Within 5 days from the initial phone call we had a highly detailed estimate (via e-mail) for the work which was consistent with our discussions during the walk-through. Chris let us know at least a week in advance of the scheduled start date for the project. During the approximately 4-week duration of the project Chris and his assistant Darren arrived when they said they would and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of the day. As the work progressed Chris suggested changes to the plan which were more cost-effective, more efficient, or more practical. For example: Our initial idea for heating the third floor rooms was baseboard electrical heating. During our first meeting Chris proposed wall-mounted heating units as more appropriate for the size of the rooms, as well as more convenient to use. As the work progressed and Chris came to understand our prevalent uses for the rooms, he proposed a third alternative: portable units which could be easily stored for the several months of the year when we wouldn't use them. We agreed to the portable units and are very pleased with their performance and convenience. We couldn't have been more comfortable having Chris and Darren working in our home. They both are friendly and cheerful, and they were highly respectful of our home and family throughout the work.

When Chris was installing the can lights he had to cut through the attic ceiling. When he did this he saw a light bulb in the attic that he felt was in a dangerous place so he fixed that at no extra charge. Chris responded to my initial email quickly and emailed an estimate. He was punctual and stayed the whole day to get everything done. He cleaned everything and was polite and totally professional. His cost was exactly what the estimate was. I plan to call Rodden Electric again to do more electrical work in the future. I would hire Chris again in a heartbeat. Excellent work!

After noticing our lights in one bedroom flickering continuously, and the clock radio flashing due to power interruption,, my husband replace the light fixture and switch, but it did not stop the problem. We found Chris Rodden on Angie's list and emailed him. His response was prompt and he came out to check the problem. He found water had seeped into our mail electrical box and some of the switches were affected. He replaced the switches, sealed off the leak around our meter and we were very satisfied with the timing, quality, and price.

I emailed Chris about some electrical projects I needed done at my house. Chris emailed me back the next day and made arrangements to stop by the house fo the free estimate. He emailed the estimate the next day and listed each project separately so if I could see the cost of each job. Chris installed two electrical outlets on my front porch with weather protective cases. He also removed two old light fixtures on the porch and replaced with new ones I had purchased. He installed a pendant light in my hallway. He also installed 2 can lights in a reading nook and a switch for these lights. Chris is a consummate professional. He arrived on time and completed every project on my list. He had to drill from the attic ceiling for the reading nook can lights and in the process saw a poorly placed lightbulb and switch in the attic. He repositioned the light to a safer place. He did not charge me for this. The final cost was exactly what the estimate was. He cleaned and vacuumed after each job and was totally professional. I would hire Chris again in a heartbeat and highly recommend him. In fact, I will be calling him again to do more electrical work at my home.

They were excellent. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He assisted with respect to how much light we needed. There was a question about how much light we should have. We thought we had too many; he thought we needed more. As it turned out, he was right. He was a nice guy and he took care. He didn't damage anything and cleaned up reasonably well.

Everything went well. He took care of some extra things at no charge. He was not the lowest bidder. Everything turned out well.

Several questions came up due to the complexity of our electrical service. We have a main building and then a detached garage with a small apartment above. Chris was able to give us a firm estimate for the electrical work and clarify with the inspector exactly how the work should be done. Work was done in a timely manner. Electric power was off for minimal amount of time. Job was completed in two days as estimated. I highly recommend Chris and Chris Jr.

I would recommend Chris to anyone who wants a smart, experienced, and trustworthy electrician. I brought in three electricians with top marks from Angie's List and Chris (who had done work for a colleague) for estimates. Chris was the only one to immediately identify how to fish the lines inside the walls (the others wanted to drill through the brick and run the lines outside). My friend had told me that Chris is the kind of person who stays up at night thinking about how to do things the right way. Chris told us how we could save money by making different decisions and still be safe. His estimate came in under the others because he did things a better way. He and his college-age son were extremely polite and cleaned up after themselves. He has a lot of experience and has even worked on major contracts at the universities. This is one of the best contractors I have worked with.

Mr. Rodden gave us a plan for the work and an estimate of its cost soon after we contacted him and held to it, even though some tasks turned out to be more time consuming than originally thought. Mr. Rodden and his son came when they said they would and often worked all day while we were at work. They were respectful of our house and belongings and always communicated by email if we weren't able to talk about what would happen next. When we could talk, it was always a pleasure to do so.

Chris was professional, friendly, and most of all competent. I would hire him again in a heartbeat. What a relief to find someone this good who charges a fair price. I can highly recommend this company.

He replaced the switch and also installed a plug in my basement for the dryer, and fixed another outlet in my ceiling. He's very nice and uses clean language! I think his price was reasonable.
