Worse service ever

I have been a Petro customer for 8 years. I have a service contract for my oil furnace with them, and they replaced my oil tank last year. Their estimates are a bit pricy, but I know what I'm getting with them and have always been very satisfied with the results - until I signed up for their air conditioning service plan last summer. First of all, the first bill they sent me had a late charge on it, inappropriate, which I had to waste time getting them to remove. The technician they sent for my service appointment last September was too large to fit through the entrance to my attic, so he could not perform the service. He told me someone would call who could fit through the opening, but no one did. About a month later I called and then I was told it was too late in the season to service my air conditioner in 2014, but they would make a note on my account that I needed a "small" technician. This year I made an appointment for May 28. For these appointments we have to clear out the walk-in closet because that's where the entrance to the attic is. Having a small house makes this difficult because there is nowhere to put the clothing and other items from that closet. The morning of the appointment, Petro called me and said they would not be coming due to having a number of "emergency calls" from other customers, and wanted to reschedule. I rescheduled for the following week. We cleared the closet again, but then it rained and they could not perform the service and had to reschedule again for the following week. We cleared the closet again, just after a rainstorm, but the weather was clearing and predicted to be good. Petro called early in the morning wanting to reschedule again. I put my foot down and said this is the 3rd time, and it wasn't raining and I thought they should keep the appointment. At this point I felt absolutely terrible from the way this company was treating me. They had absolutely no sympathy for what I was going through to get ready for these appointments, and no desire to help me with any scheduling around the weather problems, although I had conceded to them when they had "emergency problems" in May. The technician came later in the day, as promised, and performed the service call just fine. I do not recommend this company. Their customer service representatives appear to have no directives or training in how to really assist customers, and the business seems to be all about Petro's convenience, not the customer.

It was great. The job was done in a timely fashion and there werent misunderstandings. They were very efficient and I appreciated the extra work they did.

we had a leak problem and the tech came and looked over our equipment, fixed the problem and left. It cost us nothing and we have had their home heating service contracts for over 20 years. They have NEVER ONCE not shown up or not helped and in the two furnace emergencies we had--they were here with in 1hr. We are very happy.

When I initially called they were nice enough to tell me if I could wait until tomorrow they wouldn't have to charge me the emergency fee & would save me some money. This trend carried through the service and I much appreciated it. When the plumber (Matt) got there he tried everything he could to clear the line. He tried to not remove the toilet (to save us some $) but the tool he had was too small. He tried the larger tool but it was too big. He informed us that he would have to come back the next day with the medium sized tool. When he came back the next day he fixed the issue we were having and in addition, looked at some broken plumbing under the bathroom sink. Matt was friendly, courteous and on-time. Unfortunately I wasn't home when he came either day but he was in contact with me via phone and my dad, who was at the house for us, couldn't stop talking about what a nice guy he was. Hopefully we won't need to, but we would definitely use them again!

Yhe provider explained that the defective electronic component was not necessary.The provider was prompt,professional,knowledgeable,saved us money on parts,and completed the job in 15 minutes.

According to them, because I told them that I wanted their service over their phone, when I asked for information through the mail I was obligated to pay them for their service.

I have a service contract with Petro. They came out to fix a leak on my heater. Service person came out on time, fixed the problem and cleaned up so you would never know he was even there. Very pleasant experience all the way through.

Furnace was not operating because the company's automatic delivery system ran me out of oil. Technician showed up promptly and got the furnace operating but could not get heat into the house. Had to reschedule to have zone valves replaced. Technician show up late and didn't have the required parts. Had to reschedule again. The third technician showed up on time with all the correct parts and worked most of the day to get the system operating properly. He was completely knowledgeable and very conciencious that everything was working correctly.

I waited so long to submit this review because I wanted to see if we really were going to save any money. Our summer electric bills have dropped to a third of what they were last year. We may never fully recover the full replacement cost but getting a PECO bill for $175.00 versus $576.00 (August) is great and that is a positive for the enviornment! I no longerhave all the specs on the old oil burner but with the new system (3 zones vs. 2) we are using 50% less fuel oil. I can't track the savings due to warmer temperatures but the new unit runs a lot less than the old Columbia. Petro is a class company. Very professional. Full explanation of every step and really good execution!!!

They did a good job on the actual work and stayed until they were finished. I did have to keep on them as to when they were coming and following up. Their timing was a little off, but they were efficient once they got started. I have not had any problems with my chimney since. They were helpful in answering my other questions.

the process was better than I expected. The sale man knew what he was talking about . The installation crew had worked for the company a long time and were also very knowable . When we could not understand a few things they sent out a serviceman just to show us how it works. They also directed us towards financiers and reabate availability.

I contacted a man I had spoken with last year so it was quick, easy, and painless to get set up. I will have them come out next month to do the first cleaning.

They sent someone out, and they put a new drainline in. They had to send a second guy out to try to fix it. He had to put a riser in to make sure it was draining properly. He

My experience with the company was okay. They were pretty responsive when we called.

There was a snag at the beginning when they realized, after beginning to dig, that the AC unit was on top of the oil tank and they'd have to call someone in to move it before digging could continue. That delayed things a few days, but thereafter they did a good job of digging and were very careful with our trees. They also took care not to ruin the lawn with the machinery. The new tank and heater were quickly put in the basement with no problems.

They were on time to do the job. They were personable people. The quality of their work was really good. I would use them in the future. I thought the price was generally fair.

PETRO ALWAYS DELIVERS OIL AS NEEDED. THE SERVICE CONTRACT HAS SAVED US LOTS OF MONEY. THE ANNUAL CLEANING OF THE OIL BURNER PLUS ANY SERVICE REQUIRED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR IS ALWAYS COVERED. IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY THEY ARE OUT WITHIN A FEW HOURS OF THE CALL.

I AM BUYING A HEATER SERVICE CONTRACT FROM PETRO THIS YEAR.

THE TWO MEN WERE PUNCTUAL AND VERY POLITE. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR WORK.
