Earth Smart Remodeling

Two upstairs windows were pretty much OK. Kitchen window was a nightmare. Installer refused to use expanding foam to seal against air intrusion; would only use thin wisps of fiberglass. The window construction was poor, showing an eighth-inch gap in one corner, and no evidence of insulation within. And about a week after installation, my garbage disposal stopped with a sudden THUD! The problem was a nail that had fallen into the drain from the window work. I emailed and called the head of the company, and after several attempts, he answered me and we had a chat. He visited my home, saw the problems, shrugged his shoulders, and left. No apology, no excuses, no explanation, no offer of compensation.

Very high prices for a simple job of door replacement

The level of service and professionalism from Earth Smart Remodeling is exceptional. This was the best experience we have ever had on a home renovation project. The Sunrise Windows are excellent -- they look good, and are a huge improvement over our 25 year old wood double hung windows. The comfort in our house is greatly improved. Joe Storione helped with the design and selection of our windows. In our living and dining room, we now have big slider windows that really open up the room and provide so much more light. Joe was involved directly in the sale and stayed on top of the project, keeping us informed on the timing of the delivery and installation. He visited us at the start of the job, and followed up during the installation. Earth Smart's installers were top notch. Very knowledgable and we had no concerns having workers in our house -- the job took several days because we replaced every window in the house.

I will start out by saying that I am a very Type A, hands on person. When I first met with Joe, he could tell I might be a tough person to work with, but he made sure I knew what was going to happen and how the work would be performed. It definitely helped put my mind at ease. My husband and I got 3 different quotes from contractors and Earth Smart was the highest priced, but after doing a ton of research I learned that the brand of windows they were going to use would be well worth the extra expense. Once the windows were ordered it did take over a month for installation (due to the time of year), but Joe was always in contact with me keeping me updated. During this process I also added additional work to replace some trim on the outside of our home, he was extremely helpful with the color choice and making me feel good about decisions that were made. On the day of installation, two very polite and professional men came over and did a fantastic job taking out the old windows and installing the new ones. They came back a few days later and completed the trim work, which really updated the overall look of our home. We have received numerous compliments from our neighbors and friends about the work that was done. Overall, if you are looking for quality work and great communication you should choose Earth Smart Remodeling.

The whole process was non-stressful and the buying experience was very good. Joe was very punctual at every turn and there was no pressure. More importantly, the installation crew were awesome. I spent a great deal of time researching window companies and obtaining quotes and interviewing companies. My primary concern was the installation of the windows and I wanted a company that had mature, professional installers on their staff as opposed to part-time workers. EarthSmart provided this. The installer who was putting in my windows was the one who came out to measure the windows after the sale. The quality of the windows for the price, was also superior, I felt, than what other companies were offering. It was also a level of trust I felt with EarthSmart and their Customer Satisfaction sign-off sheet which they presented to me after the install was completed in one day, as promised. The install was clean and professionally done and I'm very happy with my decision to use Earth Smart.

Joe Storione provided us with a lot of good advice to guide us in choosing our leaded glass front door, a very important purchase. He put us in touch with the supplier so we could visit the factory and see the glass doors themselves, not just small samples. He sent the installer to measure our door which required a special order in a custom size. He kept us informed of the progress of our order all along the way. The door was delivered a week earlier than promised and the installation went very smoothly. The installers showed up on time and were very courteous and professional. The project was completed the same day in about four hours including the installation of the wood trim and molding. The installers took away the old door and sidelites and all of the packing material and left our house spotless. I had purchased windows from Earth Smart last year and was very pleased so I did not hesitate to use them for our front door project.

Crew showed up on time and were very professional in their manner. The work performed went on schedule and lasted 1 1/2 days. They were very clean and when finished, they took extra time to make sure they left as they found things. The workmanship is superb.

The owner Joe Storione came to the house took measurements and gave me an estimate. I thought it was fair and met all of my needs. He came back again to look at other people's windows in the neighborhood to see how they were done just to make sure we matched the color stipulated by the homeowner's association. Joe sent over one of his workers shortly after to take final measurements. The windows took 5 weeks to get because they had to be special ordered. He called when they came in and we scheduled a couple days to have them installed. The 2 workers showed up early they were neat and I am very happy with the job. I will add that the window come with a lifetime warranty which is transferable which is also important to me.

Joe came out to do the estimate he presented the description of the work and gave me a time line for the work being done. I was pleased with the completed job it was done in a professional manner I would not hesitate to use Earth Smart in the future

I have used Earth Smart Remodeling to purchase and install windows two different times. In both cases, Earth Smart was very professional and competitive in pricing. They were easy to work with and went out of their way to make me satisfied.The windows were of good quality, are attractive both inside & outside, and seem to be very energy efficient. We had visited the Philly Home Show and the windows person called and set up an appoinment, hi was good and he had full knowledge of the project, and he estimated $5000 for full house window replacement and that was exorbitant, so we didnt go ahead with the project. We couldnt afford his demands.

I received the replacement in a timely manner directly from Sun Rise. It fit and matched perfectly. Joe offered to come out and install the new Sash if we needed him to and this was all done without asking for payment up front. Once I was happy with the replacement he charged us the manufacturers price (no mark up!). I was very impressed with the great service I received even though there was no profit for Earth Smart.

During the initial estimate, we were not pressured at all to commit on the spot as many other providers tried to make us do. We didn't feel "dirty" after Mike left. Even though their estimate came out a little higher than some of the others we got, my husband and I preferred their approach, their honesty, and their product. We trusted them. After the windows were ordered, we had to wait a little bit longer than I thought we would for installation, but in the end, they came out and finished the job promptly and professionally in the time frame they estimated. The quality of the work was excellent. They were extremely careful with our newly painted trim and in many cases, you cannot even tell that they pulled out and replaced a window. In a few other areas, there is minor touch up work (but we expected that). Joe, the owner, kept in contact with my husband daily throughout the job. We are extremely pleased with the results and have already paid a downpayment for them to come back and replace our siding and trim.

Joe came to the house to give us a quote on the windows, arriving right on time. He was very low key, friendly, no high pressure sales talk. He really listened to what we wanted in replacement windows and suggested a few options. My husband really wanted energy efficient windows that would reduce our heating bill but didn't want to pay a fortune. Low maintenance was also important to us. And I wanted something that was easy to clean. Earth Smart was the third company to give us a price quote and the others took more than a week to get back to us. But Joe had a proposal ready the next day. The price was really good. We could have financed the purchase but we decided to use our home equity loan. We gave Earth Smart a 50% deposit and Joe arranged for the installer to come to the house to get exact measurements. We have all types of windows in the house (older house), small sliders, double-hung, bow windows, etc. and we were concerned about making sure the new windows fit. It took about 5 weeks to get the windows after ordering them. Earth Smart people called to schedule the installation and the installer showed up at 8 AM as promised. They did the installation in ONE DAY. Every window fit perfectly. The installers were very neat, cleaned up after themselves and even took away the old windows.

I had been shopping replacement windows for my home and saw EarthSmart's ad in the Angie's List monthly publication. I had already pretty much selected the contractor but the ad attracted my attention. The ad showed a comparison photo of EarthSmart's windows to competitors with the focus on the narrow frame profile compared the the wider profile of most other replacements. That addressed one of my big dislikes of what a saw when shopping replacements. I didn't want to give up the glass area of the windows. I phoned EarthSmart and Joe Storione, the owner, came out the next day. He brought a working sample of the window and provided literature and a written quote which was very competitive. He explained the windows are made to order and would take 4 to 6 weeks for them to come in. He said his installer would be contacting me in a couple of days to stop by for the final measurements prior to ordering. Joe was very personable and professional and didn't waste my time during his visit. I actually enjoyed talking with him. The installer, Valdi, visited a couple days later, the windows were ordered and came in about 5 weeks at which time EarthSmart contacted me to schedule the installation date. Valdi and his helper, John, arrived at 8:30 am and finished the job and out of my house at 5pm. They were both very pleasant and professional and in my opinion did an excellent job with the installation, caulking and capping. They were very neat and did a good clean-up job both inside and out. Needless to say I am very pleased the new windows and the installation. Joe Storione called me a couple days later to make sure I was happy with the job. As a result of my experience I would not hesitate to recommend EarthSmart for widow replacement. Thank you Joe and Valdi for a great job!

My wife and I were looking for replacement windows for our 3000 sq ft split level home and interviewed five contractors. Joe from Earth Smart stood out imediately as far as quality of product quality, price, and overall pleasant estimate interview. When we decided to get new windows we knew it would be expensive but were shocked at how expensive. Companies like Anderson replacement windows (we were replacing 25yr old Andersons) with good product were as much as 20K for 8 windows and other companies offering junk were as much as 10k. Joe offered the best product of all and blew away everyone else we interviewed. These are the best windows I have seen and have saved us a bundle this summer while the air is on. They are all custom and the quality is unmatched. Joe's guys who work only for Joe did the job in one day and did an outstanding job with zero snags or problems. They cleaned up and left everything as they found it. Joe showed up the same day to make sure we were satisfied and that is unusual in itself. The best "contractor" decision we ever made. Use Earth Smart, you won't be dissapointed.

Joe came to our home to give us an estimate for Window replacement of 7 windows and a large 5 pane Bow window. We decided to replace an old sliding glass patio door as well. Joe was very knowledgeable and confident in the product that he was carrying. Some may describe his sales tactics as a little pushy, but we felt he was honestly concerned with providing us with a superior product that will last a lifetime at a competitive price. Joe informed us that financing was available, we qualified for a low interest rate and the company that provided this is paying the first 6 months of payments. We were initially told the wait would be about 4-6 weeks for the windows to arrive and installation to be scheduled. After about 3 weeks got a call from Joe letting me know that delivery would take place the next week and that I should call the office to schedule installation. Installation took place the following week after delivery of the windows. Installers arrived right on time. I left for work and had no doubts that my home and belongings were completely safe in their hands. Installation took 3 days and we were extremely happy with the final product. We have plans to eventually replace our siding and gutters and plan to use EarthSmart.

He lost my business when he treated me like a little child. He told me that i didn't need to do comparison shopping (he was the first business we had out to give us an estimate). When I told him I always comparison shop, he had the nerve to tell me I was only going to get confused. Really? I don't think I need to give my money to someone who treats me like an idiot.

The estimate was done by Joe Storione, the President of Earth Smart Remodeling Inc. on Saturday, July 27, 2013. I was told that the company mostly works with Sunrise windows and they are exclusive dealers in the area. I needed to have 9 windows replaced. EarthSmart Remodeling offered a coupon on Angie's List, for either a free window when buying 7 or more, or 10% off the total price of the work. The initial price quoted to me was $600.00 per window, and the final offer was $595.00 per one double hing window. When I asked if I could use the coupon for one free window, a price of $650.00 per window came up. With the coupon and the the price of $650.00 per window the cost would have been $578.00 per window, and the whole project would be $$ less. Joe refused to honor the coupon stating that the discount offered was already the best he could do. At first I decided to still install 4 windows. The written estimate did not spell out the details of the estimate, i.e. the price per window itself and labor etc. I ended up cancelling the Agreement on the following day. The company could be great and their work could be outstanding, I just did not feel comfortable with those changes in price quotes, and the fact that I could not use the coupon, the company offered on Angie's List (and the coupon did not state any restrictions or limitation). When I asked Joe to mail me my deposit check back, Joe stated that it would cost him a stamp and he has already wasted so much time on me. I have never experienced such a poor customer service!
