My daughter and her husband had a leak in the main drain line in their basement in a home they had just closed on a few weeks prior. It sounded like a pretty routine repair until it was determined that somewhere along the line someone had plumbed the storm water off their roof into the sanitary line, definitely a code violation. As it turned out, the connection where the storm and sanitary lines came together was plugged and/or collapsed. Her husband first called Roto Rooter who's priced seemed very high. Looking for a second opinion, he called CMC. They assessed the situation, confirmed the original problem, but offered the repair at a much reduced priced. Having completed the work last week, my daughter reported that the workers were very professional and performed high quality work, completing the majority of the work in one day. This allowed my daughter and her husband to finally use water in their house after a week of going without. She was very impressed with CMC's service and repairs.

This company is phenomenal and the men who came to clean drain can only be described as angels. This company has now provided service to me on three occasions. They are very professional, do the job to the best standard I have ever seen, are quick to respond and are very reasonably priced. They will have any/all jobs that I can ever send their way and I recommend them highly- Thanks again for saving my Christmas. Colleen

They came when they said they would and were very courteous. They did everything they needed to do and cleaned up after themselves. I think their prices were reasonable and I will use them again in the future.

The snaking of my sewage line went well. All representatives of the company I spoke with were professional, knowledgeable and thorough. The only thing I didn't like was that the plumber tied his flash light onto his cell phone charges to lower the light further down to see into the pipe. It slipped from his hands into my trap, but hasn't seem to cause any issues so far.

12/3 discovered overflow outside; called and company came same day; could not clear, however, due to tree root blockage; 12/4 came back on saturday with high pressure machine. resolved problem.

FIRST: This was an elective choice - not an emergency. I didn't want the possibility of the 67 year old pipes freezing and breaking in the winter and thought while I am employed I would upgrade this part of the plumbing. I live in a rowhome so I discussed what I was planning to do with my adjoining neighbors; explaining that mounds of soil would be dropped on our lawns, if our plumbing lines were close and the plumbers had an accidental mishap I would make sure I chose a plumber that would repair the incident at their own cost, and that I would make their lawns whole should there be any damage from the soil. Once I got their understanding and approval I started interviewing plumbers. THE SALE AND MY NEIGHBORS: CMC salesperson came out 7/13/09. Took his time to "educate" me on plumbing language and verbally drew a picture of what would approximately take place if all goes well. I had specific requests considering I just had hardscaping completed. (In hindsight- I learned I should have had the plumbing done first and hardscaping last). I had 3 other plumbing estimates following this one. I asked CMC salesperson to come out one more time. We discussed my final important concern for my 92 year old mother in that I would have to take a hotel room for a few nights so she could have use of a bathroom for medical needs. He informed me that the CMC plumbers on the job would accommodate this need and let me know when we could use the water and when we could not. Estimate was signed and job was a go. I created, printed and distributed to all my neighbors a note describing that I was having extensive water main work being done and asking that they do not park the span of 3 houses (mine and both adjoining) for about 1 week to accommodate the large machinery to come. I have some great neighbors! THE WORK BEGINS: Within 48 hours CMC had appropriate agencies contacted, street was spray-painted with gas line markings, water line markings, COI and plumbing permit were faxed to me and within a week the day before the job began their backhoe was parked in front of my house and early the next morning the work began. BIG GLITCH: The only glitch was that the salesman forgot to inform the plumbers of the need for bathroom water for my mother. The plumbers and I successfully worked out that situation after a bit of a spill into the trench. And the salesman came back to apologize (we won't go into details of the blowout!) for the lack of communication or the miscommunication to the CMC staff. SUPER PROFESSIONALS AND CORPORATE TEAMWORK: Trench was begun - 6 or more feet down - about 40-50 feet long - you could see that my neighbor's water and gas lines were very close to mine. The CMC plumbers were incredibly mesmerizing to watch. They were the most adroit at manuvering the soil and around line obstacles. They worked as a fabulous team in discussing the approach to take when the soil started to cave in, my neighbor's line too close, or the gas line nearby. Once the job was done, CMC landscaping owner, and the two CMC Incorporated owners came by to help backfill, tamp and make saffe the 40+ feet of lawn area where the common sidewalk was. This went on until about 9 PM. TWO WRINKLES AND MAKING GOOD: So a few days later there seemed to be a gas leak. Not a problem. What happened was when the soil was moved, the gas lines shifted a bit. I called the gas company the leaks (mine and the neighbor whose water lines were closest to mine) were fixed. I was told to wait about one month to let the soil settle to have the concrete work done (I was also finishing the job off with a new concrete patio, walkway, steps and common walkway.) So, the soil started settling. Then withiin about 2 weeks following the plumbing work the soil started settling very low under the steps by the front door. I contacted CMC and within one day CMC sent someone out to refill and retamp and make safe that area. IMPRESSIONS: CMC Incorporated (Cental Mechanical and Construction, Inc) are an incredibly professional group of people who can work with their customer. Among themselves they are team players in getting the job done. Although I would caution "Beware the Salesman" - he still did the very best job of educating me in terms of the mechanics of what would be done, what the perfect sceniero would have been to get the job done, and what the possible down sides could be. This company is positively impressive! I would certainly urge you to consider putting them on your list and interviewing them for your work.
