The gentleman was pleasant and efficient!

They came promptly and cleaned the drain in the bathroom sink. However, they didn’t work on my other drains and were not able to perform the video inspection.

The company was very good as far as contacting me and in their communications with me to set up the appointment. The Plumber was on time as scheduled but that was about it, He spent the entire hour at my home and then told my wife that he couldn't fix it and the countertop would have to be removed for proper repairs???? (20ft. of "U" shaped countertop to be removed??? - I don't think so!!) I didn't meet this plumber but I spoke with him on the phone after I called the company to complain & he called me back & told me that he couldn't fix it because of a lip under the counterrtop that would not allow the clamp to butt up flush with the countertop. He wasn't sure why it became loose and didn't know how to fix it. Apparently this plumber is book smart to have his license but doesn't posses any ingenuity as he left my home without making any type of repairs. When I got home I crawled under the sink to take a look at the problem and yes he was correct about this lip but within 15 minutes I had installed some shims and the problem was resolved and now the faucet is tight against countertop again. Now, I agree that this was not a normal plumbing problem but I guess this plumber didn't want to or couldn't find anything in his truck to shim it up and make the repairs???? Book smart is necessary to get your license but sometimes ingenuity is necessary to make the repairs instead of just giving up and walking away!!!

NEVER AGAIN! In his email to me, I was told that the 1st 2 hours would be covered by the coupon I bought ($100 for $200 of labor) and that additional labor would be billed at $120 per hour with no mention of parts cost. They DID NOT hold up to this and instead billed me $130 (not even the $120 that was promised for the additional hours) for all 4 hours. I should have taken the day off since the job did take a full 4 hours (Central actually claims it took longer than that), during which time the plumbers were calling my wife "honey" and "babe" the whole time, then they called me at work and tell me I owe them $528, payable immediately (payment terms were also never discussed though I was told I should have known that COD is typical). I told the plumber that I had an Angies List coupon to apply and would call the office to pay, to which I was told the coupon had ALREADY been applied to get that total and I needed to pay immediately so they could leave. I felt very uncomfortable giving a plumber my credit card number so I called the owner, disputed the bill and got a small consolation, and provided my credit card #. He was on the road but INSISTED that I give it to him then and there instead of calling the office like I wanted to. Then, rather than call it in to the office, he called it in to the plumber at my house (HUGE PRIVACY ISSUE AND VIOLATION OF CREDIT CARD SECURITY), who then wrote it down on the "estimate" (pleas note-NOT AN INVOICE that would hold up in court if he would have pushed me any further than he did) that my wife signed. Either the owner or his plumber inverted 2 of the #'s, causing it to not go through. I didn't learn this until I called a week later to see where my DETAILED invoice was (since having a blanket statement of "parts-$208" was NOT good enough for me). I learned that the nice "buddy-buddy" person who comes to your home for the estimate gets really vindictive when he wants to be and had the audacity to threaten to report me to Angies List for intentionally giving him a bogus credit card #-the OBVIOUS flaw in his reasoning is that his plumbers were holding my wife hostage in her home until I paid-I had NO REASON to believe they weren't running it right away and therefore to do such a thing. The funny thing is that even after I aired my grievances about their haphazard security measures with my credit card info, all I had to do was tell them "the 3rd set of #'s is actually XXXX" and they were able to run the card. They are not allowed to retain this information in such an insecure matter, YET they still had it. Also of note, is that they offer a heater maintenance plan that the owner mentioned to me on his estimate, which he promised that the office would send me info on. I NEVER (even before we had this blow up) got the information he promised, which makes me wonder how responsive they would be in an emergency. I have also been told by other plumbers (Central actually encouraged me to show them what he charged me) and I was told that it shouldn't have taken 4 hours and have been asked if the parts were made of gold. Basically, my $100 for $200 of labor coupon was a HORRIBLE investment.

We had a $49 deal for one hour of labor by this company. The first thing out of the plumber's mouth was that he's been doing plumbing for 20 years, he's just doing the deal "because of the economy." I hadn't even asked, but I reassured him I wasn't judging him. He and his assistant fixed my loose dishwasher valve, and he set to work on our slow draining toilet which has been a problem for a long time. He looked at the exterior sewage pipe, climbed to my roof, then he and his assistant proceeded to vigorously snake my toilet for the remainder of the time; at least 30 minutes. When the hour was up, he gave me a long explanation for why he couldn't fix my toilet and that he recommended someone else to come in and fix it. He said it would cost $179, and waited in his car while I considered it. When he came back I asked again what exactly the problem was because his explanation was confusing. His was response was "look, a lot of people would look at that toilet and see dollar signs, I'm just trying to save you money from having to go the next step of replacing your toilet." I said hey, it's fine, I trust you (I don't know why or how, but that was the choice I made). He called someone from his car and came back and said it would actually be $209 if they had to remove the toilet. (For the record, my house was completely rehabbed 4 years ago). The next guy and his assistant came, bounded up the steps to the bathroom, and I left them to work. I heard him snake it for about 5 minutes and then say, it's fixed!! Being a bit shocked I said 'what did you actually do that the other, experienced guy couldn't do?' He showed me how he had picked off some chunks from the toilet bowl with a screwdriver. At this point, the jig was finally up. I kept questioning him how was it that the so-called experienced plumber couldn't do this? That's like my doctor sending me to a specialist for a cold. He just rambled nonsensically trying to distract me. He quoted $159, and I finally just gave in and paid it. (Despite the fact that he had ripped off the corner of a receipt and handwritten the original company's name, and I noticed later that each men's receipts are different sizes and colors.). I was actually going to let the whole bad experience slide and take it as a really good reminder that there are people in this world who completely lack integrity and trustworthiness. But then, one week later, I upturned my baby's bathtub to empty it out in that same bathroom, only to come downstairs and see sewage gushing down through my kitchen window from the bathroom upstairs. We brought back the original plumber as well as an actual plumber from a trusted company. The latter confirmed my suspicion that snaking was never needed in the first place. The brown stains have finally dried on our glass window, but it's only a matter of time before we'll need to pour hundreds, if not thousands more dollars into a problem that we never had before.

There was a horrible smell coming from the area were the sump pump for the basement bathroom. The plumber determined that the previous owners did not take proper care of the system and that it was in need of enzymatic solution. He went out and returned with two gallons of the product. He dumped the solution in the pit, and then sealed the pit appropriately. The smell has since gone away. He performed his job in a professional and friendly manner, and provided instructions to prevent this problem in the future.

From the time I called Central Plumbing for a quote to the time the work was completed all of the contacts and workers were extremely helpful and professional. On the day the work was to be completed the plumber arrived early, completed all work within two hours and was very neat.

I bought the deal for the $199 toilet with installation. They arrived on time and were very pleasant. I paid an extra $80 because I needed a new part for my water supply, but I am very happy with the toilet and the installation. I would use this company again.

I decided to take advantage of an Angie's List Big Deal for 2 hrs of plumbing to take care of a tub drain that had corroded to the point where the screen-like drain cover could no longer be fastened. I thought I could repair it myself, but I soon found out that it was too tight for me. The plumber made the repair and also adjusted the stopper that had not worked for a number of years. The entire job took about 1 hr and 45 min. so the Big Deal was just right. I was pleased with the work and the professionalism of the plumber, who allowed me to watch him work so I could learn from it. I would have no problem with using Central again in the future.

I had purchased a $99 for 2 hours deal. Went great, much more smoothly than I had anticipated (I thought they'd have to connect under the sink and make a bunch of holes in the cabinets/etc. They guys that showed up were on time, personable, and very professional. They had some tips and general information to share and really did a great job. It actually only took then about 30 minutes or so. This was not the result of rushing or a poor job, and I only even mention it as a positive thing (they were really good). Would definitely call them again.

Central Plumbing was fantastic to work with - from the courteous nature of the person that answers the phones to both times that Mark and Mark came to my home to do the work. I would not hesitate to call Central Plumbing again for future plumbing needs. I purchased a $99 Angie's List coupon for Central Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning to supply labor (plumbing) for 2 hours. They called the next day to schedule a time to perform the work. Due to my schedule, I returned their call about one week later. The assistant with whom I spoke was courteous and accommodating. Approximately 2 days prior to the scheduled date, they called to confirm the appointment. On the actual work date, they arrived approximately a half-hour early. Mark Sprague and his assistant, Ryan, were professional and courteous. Since we don't wear shoes in our house, this information was relayed to Mark and Ryan via the receptionist. They wore their shoe covers without being asked. Prior to beginning the work, Mark reiterated to me that the coupon that I purchased was for labor only and that I would be responsible for the cost of any materials. I said that I knew this and thanked him for reminding me. They performed the work neatly and expediently and ensured that the work areas were clean at the completion of the work. They are excellent employees and represented the company in an exemplary manner. I would definitely use this company again.

Mark was courteous, and was easy to talk to about other bathroom improvements I hope to make. His work was efficient and the toilet runs great. I will definitely use the services of this company again.

The same company installed another one earlier in the year and I liked their service and the device well enough to call them back to install another in a different bathroom. The installers were just as good the second time around. Good for them!!

They came out and finished within a half hour. He told me I had another half hour left and asked if I had anything else. He looked at a couple more things. I greatly appreciated that.

It was the first time I had used them. They did a good job. It took them a week or so to find the right part. They were extremely nice and courteous. I was impressed that they were former military.

2 men from the company came on time and performed all the work asked of them. They recommended I 'cap' the pipes so I would not need to make a larger hole in the cabinet for the valves to set back in. It made sense so thats what we agreed to. Over all I had a good experience and they even disconnected my garbage disposal while they were there. They kept the old valves and piece of copper pipe, not sure if thats normal, but I assume I would need to install new ones anyway when ready. Overall I was happy. I had also gotten an estimate for reconnecting the valves a few weeks later but it was >$250 so I'd recommend purchasing the deal coupon via angies when available.
