Description of Work: Someone from pavescrappers came out to assess the area ,and no follow up. Individual loss their phone and another appointment needed to be set up. I spoke with the office and they were to call the following week and here it us summer half over and no call to set up another date. This was not a BS call I was very much interested in redoing my backyard. I will never recommend them to anyone I know.

Everyone I dealt with (over the phone, through email, and in person) was very nice and easy to talk to. However, they had to reschedule my appointment several times. Once they finally met with me at my home, it took them longer that stated to send me a proposal and sketch.

Work was done in June and July 2013 ? the wettest months in Philadelphia history! This affected all of PAVESCAPER?s projects. On top of this I made some changes in the project which PAVESCAPER handled willingly; but there were some delays to the schedule. A number of different people arrived to handle different aspects of the job. Every one of them was a professional: they were on time, were skilled in their trade, didn?t waste time, and cleaned up at the end of each day. They were always courteous, and willing to explain what was being done and why. Eric Tyson (the prime contact) is a pleasure to deal with ? he is very responsive, knows the details of his business, and keeps his sense of humor even when problems occur (which always happens on construction projects!). He followed up after the project was completed to address some very minor issues that needed adjustment. The bottom line is that I am very happy with the end result, and have received numerous compliments from neighbors on the quality of the work.I always knew the scope and cost of the contract as revisions were made at my request, and the work came in on budget. The price was very fair for the quality of work delivered.I recommend PAVESCASPER highly. Make sure you get PAVESCAPER ? there are other companies with similar names.

Several leaks in our basement had developed over the 10 years since we renovated the 80+ year old home. We tried several things to prevent the leaks but still had problems during heavy rains. Gary installed external french drains on the side and front of the house to move the water away from the foundation. This has been very effective in preventing the leaks. Gary had experience in doing this kind of work and did the job with professionalism and on schedule.

It took several times for him to come out to my house. He missed our first two scheduled appoints on July 24th and 27th. He called late on the 27th and said he’d come on the 28th. He said it was going to cost about $4,000 for a small driveway and he would take the coupons off of that. I thought it was very expensive. I paid him $500 for a deposit. When he sent me a typed up estimate it showed $900 for ties and disposal. After looking over the estimate I canceled the check and called them to tell them I needed to talk to them. They didn’t call back until the check didn’t go through. I told them I thought it was too much money to spend on such a small job.

Overall we are very pleased with the job that Pavescaper completed at our house. This summer has certainly been challenging with the amount of rain that we have received. After initially seeding our yard we had 4 or 5 days of downpours that washed away about 30% of the seed and top soil that was installed. We contacted Eric at Pavescaper and he ensured us that they would not consider the job complete until they could come back and re-soil and seed the affected areas. Unfortunately every time he planned on coming to complete the job we would be hit with another major rain storm. This was obviously not the fault of Pavescaper and although it took another month or so for the weather to clear enough to finish the job, Eric was in constant communication with us that he would finish the job. He returned this week and not only finished the initial job but included some extra weed and feed service without us asking. As a consumer it meant a lot to us to have a company stay engaged that they would make sure the job was seen to completion. If I have any negative feelings about our yard situation this summer they are directed at Mother Nature, not at Eric and the Pavescaper team. They were professional, competent and most importantly engaged. We intend on using Pavescaper again as we move forward on numerous hardscaping and landscaping projects at our house.
Description of Work: Re-graded back yard to include swales to aid in water removal. Installed downspout drainage pipes and routed them to the end of our property line. Added top soil and hydro-seed to both front and back yard.

Considering the amount of work involved, we had hired Pavescaper using a Groupon coupon to create a landscape design that could be completed over the years as a series of projects; one project at a time. We were impressed by Eric (Pavescaperr LLc's owner) and his down to earth attitude combined with a focus on doing the job right. This was the primary reason we hired Pavescaper even though they were a bit expensive. We were not disappointed, although Eric was extremely busy and seemed to juggle a few projects, he was personally involved in all aspects of the project. We are happy with the outcome. and look forward to the next set of projects. We will recommend Eric and team to our friends and family.
Description of Work: Pavescaper, LLC created a plan for us involving landscaping and hardscaping as a set of projects that could be completed in a series of projects over the years. The work involved removal of 10 odd trees, significant earth removal/distribution and grading, grass seeding and building of a knee wall for a 1100 square foot patio

I contacted their office and was told eric would call me to schedule an appointment. Eric called me on Saturday 6/1 and said he could come by Sunday 6/2 and that he would call me prior to 9am on Sunday 6/2 to confirm the time. Sunday 6/2 Eric calls at 2:30 pm can I stop by in a few minutes which did not work for me. We get an appointment set for 6/5 sometime after 5:30, Eric says he call me on 6/5 prior to 5:30 with an exact time. 6/5 around 6 oclock Eric calls and says I'm wrapping up some things should take about an hour give me 15 minutes travel time I'll see you at 7:15, perfect, Eric shows up at 8:10, not perfect. We discuss ideas he takes some measurements and wraps up with I'll send you a design/bid in about a week that was 13 day ago and I have not received anything nor has there been any communication from him explaining the delay. At this point I can't consider using Eric and his company even if his price was significantly lower or his timelines for completing the work sooner than any of the other estimates because I have no trust in the information he's giving me.
Description of Work: No work was done but their representative did come to my home and talk through design and installation options for a patio and landscaping. We have receive other estimates in the 30 - 40K range that's how I arrived at the approximate cost of service.

We visited this customers home on June 5th. Although we were back logged, we originally contacted this customer on Saturday, June 1st. We wanted to make sure we got to him, and was moving some other appointments around to fit him in. We apologize for not calling him earlier that day, as we were on appointments all morning. We did call him to tell him we were able to met with him at our original estimated time. Customer did not answer or return our call that day. We spoke again on Wednesday and after our estimator left the office, they were to meet on site that evening. The appointment was set up for 7:15, but as it turned out our estimator did not arrive until 8:00. We spent over a good hour with this customer and his wife, not only measuring but laying out the proposed perimeter. Also had some very good recommendations for the steps, and the bilco door area, which by his reaction were not offered by any other contractor. We thought the meeting went well. Left on the note that we would have his proposal to him within 2 weeks. The proposal was sent out to the customer on June 19th, exactly 2 weeks. We do wish that we could have gotten it to them sooner, but it was received within the time frame mentioned. Our estimate was priced under 20,000, at least 10,000 below other contractors. We feel that we gave this potential customer the estimate within the time frame stated, and some very good ideas. It is very dis-heartening to see an un just review.

I called to access the promotional rate offered to Angie's List members. I got the machine. That was on the 3rd of June. I got a callback 2 days later at 7:30AM, which I felt was inconsiderately early to call someone (especially since I work at night). I told the woman to please call me back at 1PM. She never did, and I have called at least 5 times over several days since then and never received another callback. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ UPDATED REVIEW: The first call I made to the company, when I left a message on their machine with my phone number, was clear and specified NOT to call in the morning. Several days later I got a call at 7:30AM. I told the woman to please call back later in the day (at 1PM) which she AGREED to do. Nothing about confused names or problems with phone lines, to me, explains not calling when you agree to. After a week of making calls to the company, in which I said I would post a review based on their lack of responsiveness I received a call from the sales person/contractor. He came out, from my perspective to give me a sample of their work by utilizing the $199 promotion for $400 worth of work. He said that they couldn't do that, and that it was Angie's List's promotion, and that they would discount my estimate- which was about at total of $9000. This is like looking for a drop of water in a bucket and I felt that the company was doing bait and switch with the promotions.
Description of Work: They didn't do any work for me.

We met with customer on Sunday, June 19th. Our office and customer did go thru a few days of phone tag, but we finally resolved and set a time to meet. Customer is a writer and sometimes uses his middle name, and our office had two files going, which have led to some confusion. It was great meeting this customer. He has a southwesternly looking place with lots of various vegetaton plants, etc.giving him good privacy. Bamboo is one of them and we are working on a soloution to control some areas, along with some additional plantings and weed control fabric. We just got the proposal out today to the customer. We look forward to the opportunity to work with this customer on this project.

He quickly got back with my quote. They were prompt in their response. I mentioned a couple of plants that I wanted included in the landscape, but they were not included in the landscape design. The hardscape design was exactly what I wanted. I haven’t yet decided what portion of the work I will do, but I will have him do something.

It was a pleasure meeting with (deleted member name). Another very nice property, with tons of potential options. We did some designs in both the front and the back. She has a great idea for tiered retaining walls in the rear corner, and is something we would love to install and bring to life. Also, there are many options for landscape in the front, so we are working on incorporating some of the plants she likes within our design. We are looking forward to working with Valerie in the near future.

I was a little bit less than enthusiastic about it. There were some scheduling problems. When he arrived, he was very polite. After taking measurements, he provided me with a handwritten plan. It was a little bit primitive when we have advanced technology today. I asked for an estimate with landscaping, but he gave me more of a hardscaping one. I felt that what I got was not worth the $84. The cost was way too high for what I got and it felt as if it was a marketing ploy. I might consider them for putting in hardscaping. However, not for receiving plans in the future. I feel a little bit resentful that I had to pay for it. Update 6/18/13; After posting my review, Pavescaper called me back, asking how they could make me happier. It was finally agreed that they would "try" to create a 3D plan, but that it wasn't certain that they could. The crux of our discussion was the quality of the hand drawn plan. Pavescaper insisted that this was best for the workmen, should I choose to hire them. I explained that the plan should have been created for me and that a 3D plan would be better for my purposes. I don't yet know if I'll receive the drawing and will update when and if I do.

We bought our house within the past year. The garden has more weeds than grass and was overgrown with different plants, bushes, and trees. We wanted a fresh look for our yard, something not typical, something beautiful that we could look at from our enclosed porch. The man that came out to our yard was very pleasant and prompt. We told him that we wanted it cleaned up, fresh, colorful, etc. He mentioned Arborvitaes as a trim along the fence line while he was there, but I didn't know what that was (and he didn't try to explain what it looked like). I didn't find out until after he left when I could look it up that it was a bush/tree. I can't stand shrubs! The drew us up a landscape design like they said. It was very basic with several Arborvitaes, but on the expensive side. I was very disappointed with the creativity. I emailed them and asked for "something that I couldn't imagine myself". They were very accommodating in creating another plan. This one had more flowers but, in my mind, was still very basic. It's cost was twice as much as the first one. Overall, they were very polite and I have not consulted anyone else for a plan and cost so I can't compare their cost. Perhaps all landscapers are just very expensive, but if I am going to spend over $4000 on something, it is not going to be for the same plants that I can buy at Home Depot. Personally, I do not feel that the $75 for the design plan was money well spent.

We decided to move forward with 2 of the 3 projects and planned for March start date. Working around the rain and Easter we started the project in early April after the final thaw as to preserve the plantings. We also amended the project and added in additional mulch work for the existing landscaped area's. Pavescapers integrated the work into the plans and finished the overall project in 3 days ahead of schedule. The weather had worked to their advantage and the job was completed with excellent workmanship. Eric and Karen were very efficient on their planning and communication. The satisfaction guarantee they provided assures my wife and I that if there are any problems they will be there to handle. The plantings are starting to come alive with the onset of Spring (finally) and we hope they survive but if not, Eric and Karen have assured me they will replace if they don't take. We look forward to our next project with Pavescaper LLC
Description of Work: Eric Tyson and Pavescaper LLC came in to do a sidewalk paver project connecting our driveway with our backyard patio and design a landscaped area near our backyard in ground pool and waterfall. The first go of the plans were difficult to read or to determine the vision for the work. After speaking with Eric, he is redoing the plans. 5/13/13; we received revised plans a couple weeks ago and they are fantastic! Big, professional, easy to visualize and to understand the concepts with more than one choice. This is what we were expecting the first go around. It took longer than we thought it would and I almost gave up on them. But the new plans are wonderful!
Description of Work: We bought the deal for $75 for a complete design and consultation. They came out took some measurements, told him what we were looking for and what we thought could work. Over a month later we finally received a hand drawn sketch of what they would like to do, a quote, and some plant pictures. 5/13/13; Eric contacted us about our dissatisfaction and said he would redo the plans. It took longer than we thought it would but we received the re-do a week or so ago and are very happy with the new format and concepts.

We visited this site on Feb.19, 2013, and met with the owner and spent a good 1.5 hours onsite measuring. We sent out the plans with an attached proposal and plant links with pictures on March 12, 2013, three weeks. We do like to try and keep them at or under two weeks. It is a wooded property with some acreage. We designed planting beds for the front and rear, along with a front walkway and rear patio. I spoke with the owner, a week or so after he received, and in order to help make the plans become more visible to the owner, we are going to try to revise the sketch in a way that is more understandable to the owner/customer. We have also offered to come back out to the site to do a follow up meeting, where we offered to do an onsite layout rope, or stakes, or environmental safe marking paint, so the drawing becomes actual. We are always happy to do a return trip and or collaborate in order to revise. In other words, we don't end our work with just this first drawing or proposal, we will re mold or revise or make necessary changes upon customer feedback. There are always many options to choose from.

Eric came out promptly and helped figure out a solution for an area of our yard where the grass just wouldn't grow. His design was perfect for the space and his team started the work the day Eric said they would. They spent several days hand excavating and installing a statement EP Henry Devonstone patio. They were very courteous and careful with the rest of our property and cleaned up at the end of each day. Eric was very good at communicating exactly what was going to take place and why. There weren't any surprises and we would definitely use Pavescaper again!

My husband and I are 100% satisfied with Pavescaper. The crew arrived on time. he project was about 7 days. They worked with very few breaks. Eric, the owner, was professional and delivered all of his promises. He was concerned that we were happy with the project. We would absolutely use them in the future.
