A contract was signed, with a starting date (June 1st) and a completion date (June 8th), and penalties kicking in if the project is late by more than seven days (June 15th). June 1st came and went without sign of the contractor. Upon prompting them, I was given multiple reasons, ranging from the weather, to that I may need a permit (I didn't), to their finishing some other projects. They showed up on June 6th and promptly hit a sewer line with the excavator. I was assured it would be fixed the next day. After four days it was fixed, in a couple of hours . Over the next few days workers showed up sporadically to complete the dig by hand and lay down rebar for the footing. The last time work was performed was on June 13th, at which time they requested the second installment (another 1/3) of the payment. Since then, I was offered multiple reasons (workers quit, the next day they were fired, then they were hired again, another day the van broke down, several hours later the van was fine, but the workers didn't show up, etc..) and multiple new timelines for completion. A letter from my lawyer and additional ten days to complete work was completely ignored. As of Aug 1st, I still have a precariously supported deck, a gaping hole along the property in which water accumulates, and am still out of 2/3 of the project money. Throughout the interaction, Pavescaper/Hardscape Artists breached the signed contract on multiple counts.

Erik came out for a quick review of the property on May 8, but said he had been very busy so I told him I was in no rush. I had a couple trees that were to be taken down and really wanted to wait until they were down. I told him I wanted to do the work this fall and he promised the plan in a few weeks. When we heard nothing by August we called and again were promised the plan in a couple weeks. We heard nothing more so in early September we called and left messages asking when he would have the plan. Our call was finally returned, but only after we made several calls. He said he would come out on 9/12 or 9/13 to take another quick look before finishing the plan. He didn't show up, nor did he call to let us know he wasn't coming. We left 2 additional messages the following Monday, one to his cell phone and one on the office phone. He called apologetically and said he would be out on Saturday morning, 9/22/2014. Because of the long wait he promised he would give us a break on the price of any work done. Once again he didn't show up and we received no call to let us know he wasn't coming. We sat around the entire morning waiting. We have contacted Angie's List for a refund and they have agreed. There is no way I would use this company for anything

Pavescaper was fine. I guess I got what I paid for. It didn't wowed me at all but I think in terms of the responsiveness and they delivered on what the promise was. I don't know if I will utilize his service but at this point, he did deliver. He contacted me right away and the I think by the time we did schedule with my travels and all, it was about two weeks that he came. I think they are very responsive in terms of when you ask a questions or when I would inquire on things, very good communicators and he made sure that if he left me a voice mail, he would also follow it up with an email.
Eric and his team are great to work with. Excellent communication throughout. His workers are incredibly nice, careful, and do first-rate work. The estimate was clear and the price was competitive. Everything was done quickly and properly. Eric is super knowledgeable and his advice about how best to approach this job was terrific. I would recommend him to anyone needing paving work; and I certainly hope to work with him again soon.
Description of Work: The granite curbs on our 19th-century alley way, which serves as a driveway for 7 cars, had over time fallen towards the center of the roadway, reducing the width of the road. Even with a small car, you risked grinding your nice alloy wheels. The bluestone pavers on the roadway itself had sunk -- and unevenly. The car would pitch to one side and nearly hit a metal pole. About 20 feet of curb was fully excavated and set at 90 degrees, and then filled with cement to keep them permanently in place. the bluestone pavers were removed; the grade was reset to level; cement bedding was prepared; and the stone pavers were reset. Loose cobblestones in the center of the roadway were firmed up with mortar. They also did a second job: fixing uneven pavers in our patio around our garden.

The service has worked out fine. Eric Tyson was here today, and I have hired them to do my back yard. They gave me a quote and it is very satisfactory, and so I am going to do it. I did not spend anything more today, but the work is a lot more. They are very accommodating, they have a good back ground, and the owner is a very positive and helpful person.

Eric came out and discussed our project with us. Within a week, he presented us with a very detailed estimate and sketch which helped us envision the work to be done and confirmed that we were on the same page. Both Karen and Eric and very good communicators and it's clear that they try hard to make things easy for their customers. Follow up questions that I had were answered promptly and clearly. Unfortunately, we weren't able to move forward with the work for unrelated reasons, but the experience we had with the Pavescaper team was a positive one.

Pavescapers was responsive and did an very good job recommending a design for the wall around the flower bed. They were professional and did quality work. The weather created some timing challenges that set back the work. The final product is absolutely beautiful and continues to receive complements.

[Member name removed] was a fantastic customer from beginning to end! We came up with a great plan with vision, and executed it , and it really makes her town home end unit look great! Many of her neighbors were admiring it. [Member name removed] was very patient with getting her association to approve, and then weather delays, but the patience paid off , and we are looking to keep [Member name removed] as a happy customer with our 3 year guarantee , and hopefully more projects down the road. Thanks [Member name removed] , for the work. We appreciate it .

In 2013 we began to get water into our basement which was dry for the 13 years we have been here. Environmental changes seemed to wash out grading, tree removal, and neighboring property removed a pool. Eric, Karen and their crews were great to work with. They came in with a good solution and estimate. Focusing on the water problem not more patio. They communicated daily and brought in more crew when needed if weather came into play. Eric was always on the job to verify everything was being completed to the plan. Highly recommend their company and will use them again.

The [member's name removed]'s are a great family and it was a pleasure to work for them. Originally, we met to assess the problem areas, and ultimately arrived at some good solutions. They picked a package that covered all of the areas, and because of the volume they were really able to save some money with a volume discount, and we successfully completed all of the aspects of the job. Not only do all of the pavers look great, and enhance the back yard, but the drainage system works great, and with the worst winter in years, they have had no water problems. Doing a job that not only looks good, but works good, is very gratifying to us as a company. We look forward to future projects ! Thanks for choosing us to do the job!

If you want us to use just simple words to describe Pavescaper LLC (Eric Tyson's team), the words should be: super, excellent, great, fantastic? We interviewed 3 landscape company picked from Angies' list and two from Craigslist. First of all, based on our experience, we know now contractors from Angie's are much more reliable. Among 3 three contractors from Angie's list, we decided to move forward with Pavescaper LLC because the owner, Eric Tyson, was so much easy to work with. Initially after the estimation, it took other teams more than 3 weeks to get back to us. Not only Eric gave us the estimation in the timely manner, he also followed us closely and politely, which made us feel that our project was the top of his priority list. He was also very patient in answering our questions, modify the plan based on our need, and always kept us updated with the progress. During the whole process, all we felt was be appreciated and respected. In turns, we appreciated and respected what Eric' and his team did for us. Project wise, we love the beautiful patio Pavescaper made for us. It's artistic, it's sturdy, it's beautiful. The project was stared in the week of Thanksgiving, which was a cold week too. Eric and his team not only worked in cold days, they even worked on Thanksgiving day morning! All members of his team were polite, hard workers. They were very neat, always kept building material and debris in check. No complaints from our neighbor at all. Even after the project was complete in early December, Eric still followed up with us to see if we are happy. He delivered hays in early January to help us to regrow the grass. It's amazing! BTW, Eric is a big Eagles fan! Go birds! We would recommend Eric's team to anyone we know in the future. His team means quality, speed, good customer care, and great experience

[member name removed] called us out to look at his property. He had a small wood deck , and was looking for an upgrade. We designed a curvilinear kidney shaped patio with two small seating walls. It came out beautifully, and not only looks good but is very functional. The customer couldn't be happier. He also took advantage of our coupon , and was able to save 5%, instead of the alternate where he could have received a free firepit. [member name removed] was an ace to work for, and we really enjoyed completing the project. We were also thankful for the opportunity to add another happy customer and nice picture to our photo gallery. We also look forward to the opportunity of doing some of [member name removed] neighbors, and family and friends as well.
It was a tremendous pleasure to work with Karen and Eric of Pavescaper LLC and Russ of Norristown Brick! From project concept, as designed by Eric and I, to final project review, these folks provided outstanding Service, responsiveness, and quality of workership. A few highlights: 1. They worked with me to schedule the project around some other potentially conflicting efforts I had going on. 2. Karen provided critical information for obtaining the Township Permit in a timely manner. 3. They began the project earlier than anticipated and that was tremendously helpful. 4. Eric visited our site several times daily to communicate project status with me and assess progress. 5. Their crew took the time to do high quality work and touched base with me daily. 6. Eric communicated with me even while away for the weekend via email to ensure we were on the same page relating to project status and materials delivery. 7. At the end of each work day the site was cleaned and looked very professional when they left for the day. 8. Eric was very accommodating in working thru a change to the project scope during the final phases of the effort. 9. Russ visited the site to perform the final review and provide his thanks. 10. Eric provided recommendations on how to best manage these areas post-project. 11. Karen provided accurate and timely billing and payment info throughout the life of the effort.

I contacted Eric and Pavescaper in the beginning of July 2013 for a quote regarding patio work in my backyard. Karen who works in the office returned my call timely and set up an appointment for Eric to come out. Eric came out on the scheduled date and not only provided a quote for the patio work but provided ideas on the layout of the patio. After comparing other quotes received for the work and the reviews of the companies I decided to go with Pavescaper. Not only were they the most affordable option, their reviews and pictures of jobs completed were stellar. When I called to book the job - an appointment was set up and Eric came out again to go over everything and ensure the contract proposal was completely accurate. Eric was very upfront that business was busy and told me our job would be scheduled for October 2013. This was not a problem as all the other contractors who provided quotes also said they were very busy and would not be able to complete the job until the fall. As October approached, Eric reached out and contacted me that within a week or so it would be time to begin our job. He inquired as to whether we had researched EP Henry stones to determine what our preference was. Eric recommended a few EP Henry distributors that are local where we could go and see the stone and pavers set up in person. On the date work was scheduled to begin, Eric and his crew came out and they demolished my old concrete patio. Over the next few days they demolished the concrete steps, excavated the grass area next to the old patio, dug trenches and ran the downspouts underground, installed the stone base, rebuilt the steps, and installed the pavers. Pavescaper then put grass seed down around the patio to ensure the grass boarder grows back quickly. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the job that Eric and Pavescaper did. The steps and patio are beyond our expectations. Eric kept us in the loop regarding what steps of the project were happening when. His crew worked hard and did a great job. I would recommend Pavescaper to anyone, and would use them in the future for any other similar work.
Description of Work: Eric and his crew - demolished and removed my old concrete patio that had settled towards my house. They also demolished and removed two sets of concrete steps from house to the backyard (patio area). Pavescaper excavated a grass area next to the old concrete patio as the new patio would be larger than the old concrete patio. They ran downspouts underground below the future site of the patio. Pavescaper installed EP Henry pavers for my new patio and rebuilt the two sets of steps using stones that matched the pavers.

Description of Work: Pavescaper LLC installed patio for me.
Eric is easy to work with, his workers are professional, leave the job sight clean, a do good job. Eric helped with the design and conceptualization of how to construct the elements of the drive, and really made all of the elements work with each other. The best part of working with Eric is his flexibility, minor changes do not result in major charges, he is able to tolerate some on the fly changes and maintained the timelines.
