Description of Work: They walked in, spent 30 seconds to tell us the part to the stove was $600 and they left. They have terrible people skills. The grandfather was okay. We did not use them to repair our stove.

Description of Work: They replaced an intake valve on my Whirlpool washing machine. My only complaint is their scheduling practice. When you call they do not schedule a specific time period when they will appear. Initially they said they would be here on Friday or Saturday but would call first. They did not come either day. True it was one day after a snow storm so perhaps they had to play catchup. They did call and come on Monday morning. After diagnosing the problem they said they would be back Wednesday. No show. I called Thursday and they arranged a two hour period when they would arrive. They came when promised and completed the work efficiently and well. If you don't mind waiting around all day their scheduling process is fine. Most of us have too much to do to devote days waiting for a scheduling call.

Description of Work: They did come to the house the day after I called and were prompt. They assessed the problem quickly and we were told that they needed to order parts. It was 8 or 9 days before they returned with the parts. The repair was done efficiently and the problem is resolved. We felt 8 days was too long to wait for parts.

Description of Work: Mr. Durkin replaced a knob on our stove. The knob had become stuck and could not be removed. Also, we were unable to turn it without great effort. Mr. Durkin responded to my call quickly, set up a time to look at the stove, and provided a temporary fix. He returned the next day with a replacement knob and installed it.

Description of Work: They repaired a dishwasher on the most recent visit. Previously, they repaired our washing | machine. And when we called them back for an additional repair they advised that while they could do the repair we would be better off replacing the appliance, which we did. Giving us that advice took $300 out of their pockets.

Description of Work: I called Mr. Durkin on Saturday. He asked if I wanted him to come out ast that time. I responded that Monday would be fine. He said he's be there Monday around 3 p.m. He was very prompt, professional and friendly. I had called him years ago, so when I saw hi on Angie's List, I knew I had a winner.

Description of Work: My whirpool dryer wasn't producing enough heat. I called Durkin Appliance on 6/24/11 mid morning. They came in that evening and fixed the problem. The entire job took no more than 20 minutes.
