They came in on time and had the water heater installed within an hour. Also looked at other issues that I brought to their attention.

Obviously no one wants to have something that is broken or not working in their home, but its good to know there are people like this in our area to fix them. I really couldn't have asked for a better overall experience. We have an older home with some plumbing that is galvanized steel and our second floor bathroom sink was completely blocked. Tom returned my call promptly and came to our home the following day to assess/complete the work. The two plumbers were very good with explaining the problems and offered the solutions to fix them. They were able to clear the blocked area and replace the old galvanized pipe in the basement with PVC. The rest of the work we needed was to install two outdoor hose bibbs and assess a problem we had with our sump pump. The bibbs were installed in a short amount of time and they determined the sump pump needed a new check valve. I was able to replace the defective valve myself without any problems and the pump now works fine. Overall, it was a good experience and I will call again when I need plumbing work done in the future.

They were good. I didn't have any problems with them. They were punctual. They did a good job. It seems like a fair price. I asked them some questions about some other work I may have done and the guy was very informative. They showed up on time. He was very reasonable. He kept me informed on what he was doing. He seems to be trustworthy.

This gentleman plumber quickly responded to my call for service after I determined I was in over my head with an attempt to help my neighbor. He explained the complete extent of the damage and thought of a very innovative approach to correcting the problem. He was polite and non-hurried to my worried neighbors on both visits.

I told him we would be leaving at 3:30 PM to take my wife to the doctor's office, and very clearly told him that I would not be home beyond 3:30 PM. He was very cocky from the initial call. I called him when I got home from the doctor's office. 5-10 minutes later he called me and said I had told him that we were leaving at 2:30 PM, which was incorrect. Either way he had plenty of time to come to my home. I wouldn't recommend him to anybody.

We had two experiences with this company. We initially hired Tom Thomas to investigate a potential leak in our first floor ceiling. We identified him after contacting our insurance agent and searching on Angies List. Fortunately the "leak" was actually bad spackling on the drywall and not a significant problem at all. But we realized the explanations that Tom gave us were very helpful. So we took advantage of having a plumber in the house and starting drilling him with other questions, from "did I do a good job personally putting in that toilet last year (using the instruction manual and a Home Depot DIY book)" to "how's our hot water heater look" to "how come our AC seems to struggle up to the second floor". Tom graciously answered all of our questions and did so in a way that was easy to understand (The toilet was a success!). He reminded us of Holmes on Homes, the TV show. He told us how builders may cut corners and what he would do in certain situations. We never felt lost with his explanations and we felt more knowledgable about our home afterwards. Overall, our house was in good shape except for the 12 yr old water heater, which he described as having "terminal cancer". We had a nice discussion about tankless vs. hybrid vs. tank heaters. He explained the tankless that he has in his house and what he likes about it. Then, we were off to do some research on our own. Fast forward about 6 weeks, we call Tom Thomas back up to hire him for a tankless water heater installation. He already suggested at our previous meeting that our basement was nicely set up for the installation. We called him before the 4th of July and wanted to schedule the installation for July 5th. He tentatively agreed but explained that some of his clients with emergencies tend to call after a holiday to avoid the time and a half charge. We understood (we probably would have done the same). Turns out, no emergencies and we were on for the 5th. (In the preceding days, he followed up twice to confirm that day - so we were well informed). Tom shows up the morning of the 5th on-time with a young apprentice. I go to work and my wife stays home. Four and a half hours later the job is done. Tom explains how to work the machine, what to do in case of a power failure, and how our life will change with this new unit. (we saved about $5 in natural gas in about two weeks when our first gas bill came in). We both really liked Tom. He was friendly. He spoke in terms that we could understand, was patient and knowledgable. We think he is very honest for a few reasons. One, he referenced, on a couple occasions, what he did in his own home. Two, he was very detailed in his explanations (I think someone looking to take advantage of someone else would not go into so much detail). Three, he told us about ways that builders can cut corners (hence Holmes on Homes). Four, he was also very open and down-to-earth about his business (the holiday emergency scheduling thing). One of the reasons we signed up for Angies List was because we are cautious of people ripping us off when they know a particular trade (like mechanics, plumbers, etc). We felt comfortable with Tom and we would hire Tom Thomas Plumbing again.

He is very punctual, is willing to share and explain the procedures the good and the bad and is quite knowledgeable about furnaces. I trust his ability and judgment and am hiring him again. He is straight up with you in conversations and defines the possibilities. His communication is very keen and something I appreciate. His prices are more than reasonable and I'm in the process of using his service again. I highly recommend him.
