Zoom sent out two technician/plumbers. They claimed that they worked from a repair schedule, similar to most auto repair shops. They claimed the new valve was a "Partial top rebuild" and the seal plus valve was a "Full top rebuild" and the scheduled repairs would be over $900 including a 10% discount. Since most plumbers will install an entirely new toilet for less than that I find the entire experience absurd and refused to employ them.
Description of Work: Two toilet needed service. One required a new valve, the other a tank seal and valve. Retail cost of just the parts is less than $30. From experience, total time to perform service would be well under two hours for two experienced persons or a little more for two inexperienced persons.

Great! We put in a call to ZOOM after 8 pm last night and they offered to come out later that evening. We opted for an early morning window. The technician Juan Borbon called to notify us he was on his way and arrived within the promised window. He was very knowledgeable, competent, personable and inspired confidence. He quickly assessed the situation, resolved it within about an hour, and made sure that other potentially affected lines were also clear. He also cleaned up thoroughly, which I very much appreciated. Thanks so much for outstanding service. Highly recommend.

Had a blockage in the main drain line of my home. Called Zoom and they sent a tech out in about 2 hours. Turned out to be a blockage in the sewer line in the street in front of my house. The technician, Ben Kleiss, arranged for the Township to come and clear the sewer blockage, and waited at the house over an hour until they were done so he could complete his inspection. He even helped clean up the spills in my basement while waiting for the Township to fix the problem. I paid $405.00, which is Zoom's standard rate for a main drain cleaning/clearing up to 100 feet.

We called in the morning and they were able to come out that afternoon which was great. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. I thought the price was a little high at $214 per drain but we were offered a 10% discount. Other than that, I thought he did a good job and would recommend them. The drains work better than they have in the 5 years I've lived in my house.

Zoom came out promptly and assessed the problem. Jason (owner) was the one who gave us our quote ( we also got one from Horizon), and Zoom was better priced. Their work was very good, they were conscientious about keeping the area clean and neat as they dug out the hole and put it on plywood. I did have to ask for the workers to put their back hoe onto plywood, which I felt should have been done without asking to protect my yard. The workers were also about one hour late to the job, and I had to call the office to inquire about where they were - it would have been nice to get a proactive call if they are going to be late. However, they completed the work in one day and are supposed to return in the late fall to plant grass seed in the area that was dug out as it is too hot out to plant new seed in the summer.
Description of Work: We needed a sewer trap replacement for our outside stack, which had broken and was causing our water to back up into our home/basement. The trap was 9 feet below ground.
I saw my sewer vent was overflowing over the weekend, and called Zoom because I happened to have their business card at home. I was given a time window, and because the company charges a flat rate, there was no additional charge for the weekend call. A technician came out and snaked the drain, pulling back tree roots. He then used a camera to inspect the line, finding no other issues in the PVC pipe moving toward the house, but a large number of roots in the cast iron pipe going away from the house. Because I am planning to stay in this home for a long time, I wanted a permanent solution rather than a temporary "treatment." He set up an appointment a few days later to get an estimate from an engineer to rehab/replace the drain line. The price listed above was the cost for this service only. The engineer was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable, and the appointment was very informative. He recommended a liner option, which would eliminate the need to dig up the road to replace the actual pipe. The estimate for this service was $7636.69 for 35 feet of pipe, less the $358 I'd already paid for the previous service. In the meantime, I checked with my township and learned that they are actually responsible for remediating any issues that occur past the curb line. A representative from the township met with a technician from Zoom the following day to perform another video inspection (at no charge), and found that all the root damage was past the curb and would be their responsibility to repair and pay for. While I wasn't able to give Zoom the business for this larger job, and hope not to NEED their services again, I had an excellent experience and would definitely recommend them and use them again if necessary. Their professsionalism, communication, and follow-up was top-notch.
Description of Work: Power snaked main drain line from trap to the curb, clearing blockage of tree roots. Video inspected drain both toward and away from house, and found additional tree roots downstream. Returned to provide estimate to line the drain with a trenchless liner pipe. Returned again to video inspect drain with guidance of township and obtain accurate measurement of where tree roots were located.

We had to call a 2nd time to get a response but then they were at our house within an hour or so. Friendly and informative. Told him cost was a problem with no ideas to help bring it down. My husband thought on his feet and said if I take the toilet off myself will that bring down the bill? It did! We quick went online and found a $20 coupon. I signed up for Angie's list real quick ($6 for a year with a promontory code) but he wouldn't take that discount off too. Plumber gave my husband the O ring and other parts so he could get the toilet back on asap. Thought that was nice. The job went from $510ish to $385.. It was a good expiernce! He also wished us a Merry Christmas..

It was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and there was a lot of food preparation involved. We had been using the garbage disposal very heavily. We then noticed there was debris in the bathroom and laundry room. Obviously there was a blockage. We had called them late evening and they stated they would let us know if they could send someone. After not receiving a call back we reached out again first thing in the morning. They told us it would be late morning before a technician could arrived. A few minutes later they called back and reported there was a cancellation and they would arrive within thirty minutes. Upon arriving the technician was very friendly and professional. He was able to quickly determine where the blockage was. He went to work and easily fixed the problem. He took care to keep everything clean and cleaned up after he was done. The job was performed excellent and have not had an issue since.
Description of Work: Quickly identified the problem and then cleared the blockage from the pipe.

Juan Carlos Borbon was fantastic. He arrived very soon after I called, explained all of my options, and provided a recommendation. He was very thorough, and I am confident that my issue is resolved. The camera showed that my sewer pipe is in good condition, the slope is good, and there are no major issues. Zoom provides a 6-month warranty for the high velocity water jetting service. The service was pricey but worth it because Juan resolved my problem quickly and thoroughly.

Evaluated the problem with 3 visits first so I was satisfied that all available brain power had been brought to bear on our situation. Was told up front the cost, the time spread that would cover contingencies, and met the foreman before the job started. Eric and his crew were thorough and professional, completed the job a day early, and left the house neat and tidy. My wife, who expected the worst, and I were pleasantly surprised and would certainly use them again.

If you claim you offer a free estimate, don't waste my time by showing up with a PDF on a tablet that list your prices to do diagnostics. If you need to run a camera into the drain to determine the price and it cost almost $170 to run the camera, that is NOT a FREE ESTIMATE. That is a $170 cost to determine the actual cost of your service. I scheduled an appointment and the window was between 4 and 8. SERIOUSLY? The cable company gives a better window than that. 4hrs??? The day of, I was called at 2:15, to tell me he was in my area early and wanted to stop by (I appreciate the early drop in, but shouldn't you stick to what I asked for and you agree upon over the phone? You did offer me the 2pm appointment when I called and I turned it down then.) That's when he comes in with a tablet and a PDF to list me the prices. I took a half day out of the office to get something that could have been sent via e-mail. And that I would not have agreed to. You can't claim it is a free estimate if it cost $170 to run the camera into the pipe to determine the cost of the work. (You did come to my house for free?maybe that's what you think free estimate means). But if the range cost could be anywhere from $400 (to run a cutter through my drain) to several thousand (if you need to rip my yard up), the estimate part is when you do the diagnostics and tell me where it fall sin that range.
Description of Work: Supposedly gave me a free estimate.

I called Zoom Drain on the recommendation of another plumber after we had a recurrence of a main drain blockage. The reason he recommended Zoom drain was because they had the video equipment to review why we had the recurrence. Juan Carlos Borbon came out earlier than expected and explained clearly what he recommended: Use the camera to find the block and use the high pressure hose to clean the blockage. I decided to to go with his recommendation and the problem was dealt with quickly. Juan also clean out the main drain all the way to the street, which I did not even realize was included with the work. He suggested we could do some improvements on the cleaned pipe but did not push the issue beyond a recommendation. Overall I was very pleased with his demeanor and professionalism. I would definitely recommend Zoom Drain's services.
Description of Work: Clean out the main drain and did a video inspection of main drain.
very good service, only drawback was that there were many appointments ahead of mine, so the serviceman did not show up until 10pm, but we needed it done ASAP, so willing to wait. Overall job was done and things are better than before. Only thing is that an additional appointment was needed to "kill off" the roots, which will cost another $460...so looking at $1000 cost to fix problem. I think so far, this is a far price until someone tells me otherwise...contacted a local company and wanted $300 for hourly labor, and could no guarantee how long it would take to fix...overall Zoom was here about 2 hours to get the main problem fixed, and now we have the preventative measure to do. I would use them again. We called and got same day service, even if it was at night. Came with the right equipment to fix on the spot.
Description of Work: THIS IS FROM THE INVOICE: Came out and the customer has been having issues with the main drain backing up. They called out horizon but they were unable to reach the blockage. They had removed a toilet to access the line. They did not reinstall the toilet. I reinstalled the toilet because I was able to locate outside access at the rear of the house. Once the toilet was reinstalled I powercleaned the main drain. Powercleaned the line going back towards the house first. Powercleaned this section of the line several times to ensure a proper cleaning. Powercleaned from the cleanout going out towards the city sewer. I was able to get the hose out about 110'. Pushed the camera out to this point and found a very large root mass in the pipe. Video inspected the line going back into the house and found this section of the line is clean and clear. I set up a appointment with the customer to return Monday between 1 and 3 to perform a root elimination on the line. There is no warranty on the line at this time due to the large root mass in the pipe. The customer will be credited the cost of the work today towards the price of the root elimination on Monday.

When I called Zoom they were very friendly on the phone and asked me what would be a good time for service. I said "how about 3:00pm today", and sure enough at exactly 3pm the truck pulled up. Jeff was the technician on the job. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the job. The sewage line was blocked somewhere underground in the middle of the house. The shower and sinks in the front of the house were fine, however the bathroom and kitchen sink toward the back of the house were clogger. He pulled out his price book and told me upfront how much this was going to cost. I prefer paying for the job rather than paying by the hour. He went in through the clean-out vent in the front yard. First he used a camera and showed me the problem. It was basically 50 years of hair and grease build up that clogged the lines. Next he took a high power water jet and fed it into the sewage line and cleaned it out. Then used the camera to showed me the before and after. There was a noticeable difference! I was very pleased with the work. I would absolutely recommend them.

I contacted Zoom to remove a difficult clog in my exterior drain between my house and the street main. I was partially successful in removing the complete clog on my own, but it was evident to me that I had only partially unblocked the line. Steve Martino, the Zoom service technician, arrived within the promised time frame. I presented to him what I had done and he discussed the available options and the associated pricing. We both decided that water jetting would be the best option for the initial approach unless another problem presented itself as the work progressed. Steve water jetted the line and encountered a snag, but was able to work past it and continued on to the street main more than sixty feet away. He subsequently performed a video inspection and it revealed a sag in my line where some gravel/pebbles had accumulated and where the original clog had formed. There were also more pebbles located in the line, but Steve was able to back them up to the cleanout and retrieve them with his shop vac. It was indicated that Zoom offered the services required to repair the sag in the line and I invited them to return to provide a quote on the work. That is scheduled for next week. Overall, I am extremely happy with the service that Zoom provided and felt that their pricing structure, which was clearly explained before the work commenced, was more than fair. I felt that Steve was very knowledgeable and experienced in what he was doing, and the equipment that Zoom uses is top of the line (as opposed to the morons than only partially unclogged this same line just four months previously and did no better a job than I did myself). My overall impression is that Zoom will be the first company that I call if I need drain cleaning in the future. Also, I used a coupon that Zoom had posted on their web site and that saved me twenty bucks. Thanks Zoom and thanks Steve.

Everything went great. From my first call in to a very professional gentleman who was able to fit us in to the plumbers who actually came out and did the work.
Description of Work: Aaron and his partner came out and ran a video camera down our exterior sewer line. We have a sinkhole in our yard and they were great. They even searched in the basement and gave us different ideas of what the issue could be because it wasn't an issue with our plumbing. I would absolutely use them again.
This was a very difficult job which only a top notch company with state of the art equipment could even imagine doing. The estimator came out and carefully measured the job requirements for digging and installation of a new sewer line. After agreeing to do the job, they purchased the permits from the city and notified the companies who identified the gas and water lines. What made the job very difficult was that there was a large tree and stone wall on the property which lay on top of the sewer line. The only way to actually create a pipe that could be buried under the wall and tree without digging up the ground and destroying the tree was to use a Pipeburst trench less installation pulling a polyethylene pipe under the ground. In order to do this, the company brought out an amazing video probe device which can actually locate a terra-cotta pipe under the ground, tell you how deep it is and its path. Using this technology they determined the length of the replacement pipe and then identified the beginning and end point under the wall and tree. They dug 12 feet deep on both ends of the terra-cotta pipe. They had a Pipeburst pulling device that can pull the pipe under the wall and tree creating a trench less pipe which replaced the old terra-cotta pipe. In order to identify the connecting cast iron sewer line, they also used the video probe and were able to trace the entire cast iron pipe path. Then digging 10 feet into the ground they found the sewer line. The dirt wall was very high and kept collapsing so rather than rush and endanger the workers, they spent a few days actually building a walled fort in the trench to hold up the dirt. They were then able to open the cast iron pipe, put new pipe in and connect it to the new polyethylene pipe from the Pipeburst technique. Once connected, they rebuilt the sewer drain vent and connection to the sewer main. In preparation for removing the dirt, they put plywood planks on the ground to protect the grass. When they had to backfill the excavated trench, they used the piled up dirt and then manually shoveled the dirt off the plywood. The result was compressed grass but surprisingly, not mounds of dirt. As the dirt was backfilled, they had a mechanical ground tamper to tamp the ground allowing the soil to be compressed. Areas where the cement sidewalk was broken was replaced with tamped down soil and then a layer of stones were placed which made it easy to bring in a cement mason to build a new sidewalk. All in all it took almost three weeks to do this job which was longer than I hoped and probably longer than they expected, but they did it carefully and professionally. Unlike the previous company that did the job in one day, they were much more deliberate and careful. I was impressed at how carefully they worked to tamp down the soil and restore the land to approximate what it previously looked like before the work began. I was also impressed that their Pipeburst trench less technology is alone worth hiring them. To my knowledge, they are one of only a handful of sewer installation companies that can do this type of work in the area. I would strongly recommend hiring them. They are really the best.
Description of Work: I actually had to redo a sewer installation so I have the advantage of comparing Zoom with at least another sewer installation company. Zoom had to identify the trap at the curb, use state of the art video technology and probes, identify buried sewer lines, do a trench less sewer installation, create a trench and shore up the sides and then reconnect the trench less pipe to the existing cast iron sewer line and backfill and tamp the ground in order to allow the landscaper to redo the land. They did this over several weeks which was longer than I expected, but they were extremely neat, used plywood to protect grassy surfaces, created a safe trench for their workers and did the job right rather than rush through it. No question, Zoom is an excellent company and the only company I would recommend for state of the art sewer installation.

Job went very well - more than met our expectations.
Description of Work: Initially hired to clean a blocked exterior drain pipe. They discovered that due to age, the pipe had deteriorated to a point where it was no longer viable. Contracted to install a new exterior drain pipe with up-to-date material. They excavated and did a well engineered job of installing about 35 feet of pipe from the house to a dry well five feet deep. Very professionally executed - the installers were knowledgable and helpful with keeping us updated as the job progressed. They were respectful of the land and the landscaping, and left the job site in excellent condition - level and ready for spring planting of grass.

Zoom was recommended to me by another drain and sewer service because they provide water jet cleaning. I called them mid-afternoon after the first service gave up and they came out that evening to unblock the sewer line. Steve, the Zoom service man, identified which line was backed up and offered to clear it with either a snake for $290 with a 1 month guarantee or water jet for $461 with a 6 month guarantee. I chose to go with the water jet. He water jetted the line from the curb trap at the street several times to clear the blockage and clean the entire line. After I removed damaged carpet and washed the basement floor with bleach, there was still a noticeable sewer gas odor. I gave Zoom another call and Steve came out the same day. He diagnosed that the grease/sand trap in the basement floor had been compromised by cutting an access hole in it. Steve vacuumed out the trap and installed a repair plate using putty to re-establish the trap seal for $74. Aside from arriving an hour and a half later than projected on the second visit, I'm very happy with their work.I would definitely call them again for drain and sewer problems.
Description of Work: Zoom unclogged my main sewer line that had backed up into the basement. On a return visit, they vacuumed out the basement grease/sand trap and installed a repair plate using putty to re-establish the trap seal.
