Sean and his guys did a great job. Sean was very responsive through phone and email and came out to the house to give us a quote. What I really liked was that he was very upfront about what he thought would be best for our home; he never tried to upsell anything and seemed to just what to give us the truth about what would and wouldn't work. We decided to go with prefinished hardwood flooring and we picked a color that matched pretty close to the existing hardwood floor in the house. However, Sean ran into trouble getting that exact color flooring and worked with us to find a color that matched almost as well. He and his guys were able to do the whole kitchen and laundry room in a couple days around Thanksgiving. Any problems they uncovered along the way they fixed thoroughly and quickly. They bumped into our wall and dented it a little bit, but Sean came back exactly when he said he would to fix it. They were reliable and left the house very clean. They also stuck to the price and he was actually willing to work with us on the price after he ran into trouble getting the original flooring we wanted. We'd definitely use them again in the future!

They did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them. The house was cleaner when they left than when they got there. They stood out because they were very punctual and professional. The scheduling was very good. Their quote was competitive.

It was very fine. They sent 2 people out to do the job. The cleanup was pretty good. The owner was very helpful and patient on trying different combinations to match the wood.

They did an excellent job. They are professional. They are very honest and I would recommend them to anybody. They ripped up the carpet and found the floor was in good shape and they discounted the original price because they did not have to do as much work on it. They took the old carpeting out and I did not have to do a thing for the cleanup.

We appreciated that they communicated well in advance and during the 4-day job. They arrived promptly every morning and cleaned up any mess. Sean and Paul were polite, professional and answered any questions we had about the process. Our refinished floor looks great! They did a great job matching the color.

Sean answered my Angie's List inquiry very quickly and called me when he said he would. He was more responsive than other hardwood flooring contractors I obtained quotes from and took his time explaining the process and how to care for a newly refinished floor. The process was spread over 3 days. The first day Sean and his colleague sanded down the floor and put on the first coat of poly. He left the house very clean. Sean came back the second day to buff the floor and apply another coat of poly. He repeated the process on the third day but came back twice to add two more coats of poly. He left detailed instructions on how to care for the floor and a spray bottle of cleaner. I will definitely use Sean again when we decide to refinish the second level of our house.

Sean was very professional and arrived 15 minutes early for the quote. Upon arrival, we discussed options - he did not try to upsell whatsoever - instead he provided a range of options and we moved forward with what we both felt was best for the spaces. I would absolutely recommend Sean - I picked him because of his Angie's List reviews and will select him for work in our home.

Sean and his workers completed all the work in a friendly and professional way. It had been years since the flooring had been refinished yet Sean and his workers were able to match the stain so exactly that you cannot tell, by color, where the old stain ends and the new stain begins. At the end of the work session there were two issues that remained. One, my utility sink was marred by the cans of stain that had been placed in it. Sean, upon request, came back to the house and polished the utility sink removing any problem stains - leaving the sink looking fine. Two, while the color of the old and new stain finish were matched exactly, the shine looked different. The original gloss in the living room was shinier than the refinished gloss in the foyer. You could see the difference when the sunlight came in the window. Sean offered to fix it but for an additional fee of $300. I realize that repairing the finish would have been time consuming for Sean, however, we did not contract him to do "almost" the best he could. If it was possible to do the job better, we didn't think it should cost extra to make that happen. We plan on selling our home soon and I'm sure, that with the furniture out of the house, the difference in shine will be very apparent. I am disappointed to be unable to give Sean a full positive rating, but this one aspect of his work would prevent us from using him again.

Sean was very professional, responsive, cleaned up after each day and stuck to his quoted price. Sean and his worker Paul did an excellent job!! He also came out to look at the job first to give us a quote. Other providers (on Angie's list), over the phone, did not want to just repair the bedroom floor without completely refinishing and one quoted a price without looking at the job.

Sean and Paul are nice, polite, and responsive. We communicated through phone and handwritten notes since I went to work while they were at my house. I asked for Sean's recommendation regarding the color to stain the floors and am very pleased with the results. It is uniform in appearance. They were neat and tidy, take pride in their work and have earned their well-deserved reputation. I appreciated that they promptly returned within several days to replace the dining room furniture and provided printed tips for maintaining hardwood floors. Even my painter remarked what a great job they did and how wonderful the floors look.

Sean, as usual, did an awesome job. I hired him several years ago to install hardwood in my family room. No one else compares! Not only is his work perfect, but he finds ways to work around issues that I thought would be problematic. For instance, he ran the cable wire through the molding and the wall so it was hidden, and reset the shelving in the closet so it was flush with the hardwood. Since the closet previously had carpeting, I thought this would be a problem. He was prompt, professional and left the rooms spotless.

Sean Maxwell prepared an estimate to remove carpeting and refinish the hardwood floor underneath. The estimate was reasonable and Maxwell Hardwood Floors is a top-rated company on Angie's List so I asked Sean to do the job. Well, I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. The floor looks spectacular. The new quarter round trim and the wood thresholds were perfectly cut and finished. Sean even custom-blended the stain to give us exactly the color that we were looking for. Maxwell Hardwood Floors is an outstanding company and I recommend them without any hesitation.

My floors are beautiful. Sean was very responsive and professional. My rooms had to be done in stages because the big pieces of furniture had to be moved from one room to another and back. So they moved the furniture from the living room into the dining room, did the floor in 3 days on a Wed, Thur Fri. , the floor was allowed to dry over the weekend . we could walk on the floor in socks within 7 or 8 hours which worked for us because we were at work. They returned on Monday moved the furniture from the living room into the dining room. He even asked where we wanted them to place the dining room furniture which was great because we only had to move the living room furniture back ourselves. The floors were completely finished on Wednesday. We had oil finish which I would recommend because of the beautiful natural amber color on the wood. I guess my only disappointment was that we had just had our walls finished the day before they started (plastering and painting) and there was a ding in the archway when I pointed it out to Sean (and all I asked was for them to be more careful going forward) he didn't own it right away but then said "Maybe" it might have been them. That made me sad and he didn't offer to pay for the repair, which I wouldn't have accepted but I think the offer should have been made but that's just me , I'm big on CUSTOMER SERVICE. I know he wasn't keen on moving the furniture but there was no other option for us.. With that being said , I recommend them and would use them again.

They gave me a great price and did a fantastic job in my kitchen. The floor looks great. They did the job when they said they would and finished on time. Will definitely bring them back to refinish my other floors later. Highly recommend them for any job.

As part of the job they had to "tooth in" to an adjoining area that already had hardwood, but a different older style, which complicated the job and required sanding down the old to make it look the same as the new. Sean explained in detail the work that was necessary and we explored several options, including colors. Their work was quite good - people cannot see any difference between the old area and the new and I am quite satisfied. I'd use them again.

My experience with Maxwell Flooring was fantastic. We purchased a house that needed a lot of work. We wanted new hardwood floors throughout the first floor (under 1,000 sq. ft.). With a project of this size, I was very nervous about choosing the right service provider. At a previous home, I had worked with a great floor refinishing company but I still wanted to do my due diligence for this project. I found Maxwell Flooring on Angie's List (great reviews). The price was very competitive but it was really the intangibles that sold me. Sean, the owner, is extremely professional, responsive and his dedication to quality is impeccable. Sean walked us through the quote ?wood, stain, seal and design options? and worked with us on our specific needs. He proactively communicated about the delivery schedule, project decisions/modification and stages. We had a tight timeline and he was able to complete the job on time while maintaining quality in his craftsmanship. The end result was beautiful. New flooring is a big investment and visually prominent in every room. It needed to be perfect?.and Maxwell Flooring delivered! We HIGHLY recommend Maxwell Flooring and plan on using them for future projects.

Excellent, excellent work. The new floors were toothed in and matched the old floors exactly. The craftsmanship was superb. Both Sean and his assistant Paul were very professional. Arrived on time and kept us up to date on the project. In addition, they were very considerate in that they cleaned up at the end of each workday and very polite. Our stairs were originally covered in carpet and plywood. The treads and risers were installed perfectly and looked like they were a part of the original house construction. Sean brought in a carpenter to ensure the banister was not damaged when dismantled and reinstalled. We would highly recommend and we would use this vendor again in a nanosecond. We were more than pleased with the entire job and love the look of our new floors and stairs.

Very smoothly. Sean arrived for our first meeting on time and e-mailed us an offer with in 24hrs. They are very busy so we had to wait about 3 weeks but they started the day they said they would and did a beautiful job on our old very damaged floors. They were prompt, neat and very respectful. We made a few changes in the original agreement and Sean was very understanding and reasonable. We both needed to be flexible with our schedules because of the changes. They finished when they said they would. We were very impressed and pleased with Maxwell Hardwood Floors.

They were awesome. They were here every day they said they would be. There was no nonsense and the got the work done. They were nice people to work with and the whole experience was good.

It went VERY well. They were professional and polite. They cleaned up very well after each day of sanding. It took a bit more time then expected so Sean came over on the weekend to catch up. We are extremely pleased with the new finished floors.
