We had to reschedule our appointment twice. Window World had to reschedule once with us because they couldn't make it out for installation on the scheduled day and we had to reschedule once because of our schedule. We were very pleased with everything except the final cleanup. An old window was broken while it was being taken out and wasn't cleaned up well. The guy installing the window said he cleaned most of it up but because there was snow on the ground a lot of it was missed. With the exception of the glass the installer was great and Window World did a great job. We have more windows that need replaced and will use them again.

The initial installation was sloppy. They left the insulation exposed with the promise to come back when they had a replacement for the one window that wasn't correctly measured and didn't fit. When they came back, the replacement window was crooked and the insulation was covered with a cheap vinyl cover that peeled off. They finally came back and covered the insulation with wood, but failed to stain the wood and remove the glue from the cheaper vinyl covering. After several months they came back and the work appears to be done. However, I haven't been able to clean the newest window due to cold weather. Once I'm up close, I feel I will find more flaws. I'm also unsatisfied that I was sold argon gas in between the panes. This was supposed to help with the porch overheating on warm days. It did little to help this problem. I guess the windows and doors look ok and appear to be functioning. But, getting there was a long difficult road.

We scheduled an appointment with Window World based on a recommendation from my parents. They had windows installed in a sunroom several years ago and were happy with the price and quality. Our first appointment with the Window World sales rep was terrible. He showed up 15 minutes late without even calling to let us know he would be delayed. He delivered the whole Window World presentation, as expected. He then presented us with our quote, explaining that the price included the "good glass," which added $94 per window, and the exterior trim, which added $79 per window. Making the total per window $373. I asked why we had to pay extra for "good glass" -- what is wrong with their standard glass? He told us that their standard glass is terribly inferior and inefficient. In his words: "No one gets that, except maybe landlords who don't care about utility bills." Purely out of curiosity, I asked him why they would feature such an awful window as the main product that they advertise (the famous "$189 Window"). He immediately got very defensive, almost confrontational, and continued ranting on about how much better the upgraded glass is. (Interestingly, my parents' windows are the basic $189 ones, and they have no complaints after several years.) He then made several negative comments about our intent to seek quotes from other window companies before making a decision. Finally, as he was gathering his materials to leave, he said, "Well, I know you won't be buying windows from me, because I annoyed you." He left without even giving us any informational materials or contact info. The funny thing is, we DID buy our windows from Window World. We needed slider windows, and these particular windows were cheaper from WW than other companies we checked. But we made certain not to buy them from this particular sales rep. Instead we contacted the sales manager for our local WW and dealt with him directly. He was extremely helpful and made the rest of our experience pleasant. Our windows have been installed for a few months now, and we're very happy with them (even with the cheaper glass!).

Well the salesman did his job ... he sold us on everything BUT didn't fulfill what he promised us! Dave McCormick promised us to have this work done the way I would have done it "that's why he got the work in the first place" BUT they failed us miserably! The day that the insulation guys were to show ... I waited for three hours and they never did show ... I called Dave he called the insulation guys and scedhualed another day which we changed again after they realized it ran into two different months ... no big deal just let me know WHEN ... again I'm waiting at this house for these guys that said they would be there between 9 & 10 at 11:30 i called Dave and really gave him h*** ... I let these guys do their work and asked the foreman what time he'd be there tomorrow ... he said he had no idea they may not even come back for a day or so? He said they get their orders in the morning and would call me? This is where I come up with WindowWorlds new name WonderWorld! The insulating guys called me the next morning and told me they'd be there around noon they had some other place to go first? Wow so much for me but thanks for the call ... more than I ever got from Dave or WonderWorld. Next Dave promised me that all the insulbrick that was missing on my house would be filled with foam board so I'd have a level surface to start all this new siding off on ... it's something I would have done myself if I were going to do the job myslef BUT Dave promised me if they did it they would do it that way so thus my reason for giving them the job in the first place! My wife gets a call Saturady afternoon "it's someone wanting the address to deliver all the siding"? I flip out call Dave and tell him no one lives there and why were they going to lay all this stuff out were someone couild stieal it? He said don't worry I'm not held responsible for it? Next my wife asked the guy delivering when they might start? He says probably Monday? No one called us to say they were or not? Once again Wonderworld! So I get a call late Saturday night from the guy that is doing the siding ... says he was there most the day Saturday removing the old siding and wanted to work tomorrow? It's Sunday I told him but he insisted ... I asked him what time he was starting ... 8:30 he said ... I get there at 8:10 he has one side on already BUT they never filled in the empty places with foamboard like we were promised or I wanted and he said no one told him but yet I'm supose to be happy with that fact that the house is covered but not the way we wanted it done ... I should have done it myself ... they did nice work really and in two days had the house done ... the metal work wasn't that good up close but looks good from the street and they forgot to caulk the porch metal ... I told windowworld I'll redo it myself ... it isn't worth the aggravation "believe me it isn't" Now we come to the windows ... the guys did a great job with the exception of half screens and one of the windows out of 16 didn't have the grids in it? They said after the job was done they'd have someone back to replace those after they oder and come in ... I asked at that point why half screens when we ordered full ... he said no you ordered half ... we had an insodent and definitly wanted full ... told Dave about it when he questioned why we wanted full over half so yes we ordered full! Well to make matters worse after the guys finished the install of the windows they asked me for the balance? I was so embarised since Dave said that after all the work was done they would go over everything and if we weren't satisfied with anything it would be fixed before we ever paid the other half? Yes you pay half up front and the other half after the work is done if something isn't right then they fix it before you pay the balance ( the biggest selling point of the job ) period! My wife and I both said if that was the case things would have to be done accordingly we figured ... so of course the job was theirs ... BUT ... not so ... I called Dave that day when the guys were expecting me to pay them and questioned all this and he said if I didn't want to pay my bill then I'd have to take that up with Tony "his boss" I said what happened to the fact that we were to go over everything and make sure it was right before paying the balance? He said I'd have to be nuts if he was going to go over everyones work after it was done to satisfy anyone ... I was so shocked and said you most certainly told both me and my wife that the day you sold us everything ... he called me an a****** and hung up on me! One of their own people a window installer was standing close enough to me to hear him say that ... he asked me if that wasn't what he heard and I said yes I'm still connected and he hung up on me after calling me that! So we were able to make payment via a credit card "they had paper work with them" BUT what followed was just as sad ... Tony his boss was informed and of course they called to say when they were coming to install the two sashes that didn't have the grids in them BUT when I asked about the screens "never ordered" I just couldn't belive it ... She called Tony who I then called and said I couldn't wait till all this with WindowWord was over since I got absolutly nothing but heartache from the whole experience ... maybe other people have made out but we have an insulation job that we feel we over paid for 1/4 of the house had insulation in it when they drilled they found that out but we still paid way more than we should have along with two big holes blown out in two different places in our plaser walls that we never did get anything for and as far as the sidng work ... they told me it was done to specs but not the way I was promised it would be ... the windows ... the only exceptiable part of the whole thing but the unknowing and sad timing of everything I"D NEVR SUGGEST THESE PEOPLE TO ANYONE let alone us ever having them ever do anything for us in the future! You could email us anytime if you ever have any thoughts we'd be more than happy to tell anyone our story. There's so much more to it all but not here! Pat Moran the owner ... I'll bet that poor SOB is in the dark about all this ... and Dave said from day one that Pat Moran himself would make anything right with anyone if they weren't happy with their work "he's that type of man" Makes us fell like real sapps! I just pray that I can save someone else from all the heartache we went through. Bill & Vicki naggy@zoominternet.net damamatoo@zoominternet.net

Quoting the service and measuring was fast and easy. Their prices were way below all other quotes, even for the enhanced options. Installation was almost seamless. Problem is different crews work for them and service is uneven. One of the crews was fantastic. The other messed up the place and did not properly clean... wish crews could be selected!

The salespeople were good. They have a motto that they don't just stand behind their windows but they stand on them. They actually let my parents stand on top of the windows to show how durable they are. They were very good. They were just a little more salespeople-like and not as personable as the other company. It was just more of a sales pitch. Everything was very good. They were very punctual. Their quote was right away. They were my parents' second choice. They really liked them.

It took three tries over a period of several months to get someone to return my call for an initial consultation. The receptionist was truly apologetic, but had no answer as to why my first couple of calls went unanswered. The salesperson showed us the windows and gave us recommendations to fit within our budget. He even stayed a little longer for us to make a decision regarding the coverings for the frames. The windows were installed when they said they would be. Unfortunately that was 8 weeks after we ordered them. That's a long time to wait for installation. Everything went fine and the installation time was quick and easy. The coverings for the frames were a bit flimsier than we'd thought, but since everything is supposedly has a lifetime warranty, our hope is that replacing those at some point in the future will not come with a price tag. Our only real complaint was the price - which was nowhere near what is advertised. Window World advertises $189 windows installed. But when you take a look at what they say the government needs to ensure with double insulated argon glass, etc., etc., the price comes to closer to $500 per window (and those are the lowest cost standard windows). Now I don't mind a reputable company charging an honest and fair price for windows. But don't lie to the consumer and advertise standard windows at one price when you're actually going to charge 2 1/2 times that. Again...no complaints about the windows. But I will be checking other peoples' rates as well in the future.

My wife and I visited the Window World office in Robinson looking for windows sometime in the beginning of June. The salesman there, Matt gave us a quote on the windows we were looking for, a Garden Window and a regular window. After looking at several other window places we decided to use Window World. I called the number Matt gave me to try to get someone to come out to measure the windows and give us a final quote and never got an answer. Finally I called the office and was told that everyone from Window world was at a seminar in Florida and it would be a week before I could see anyone. I finally got an appointment for June 24th. Matt came and gave us the quote but apparently someone else has to do the measurements. He said someone would call before the end of the week to come and take the measurements. He also said the delivery time was about 8 weeks. After not hearing anything for awhile I got a call July 3 scheduling the measurement guy. He came out, measured the windows, and I then heard nothing until Mid August when Matt called again to tell me that they could not supply the color of the garden window we ordered. This was a month and a ½ after I placed the order. I agreed to change the color. On the last week of August, since I again had not heard anything I called to check the installation date and was told the garden window wouldn?t be available until Sept 19th because they take extra time to build. I scheduled the installation for Sept 20th. On the 20th the installers showed up on time and did a good installation, so at least that part was acceptable. I?ll have to see how they perform over the winter to attest to the quality of the windows. I have not been impressed by Window worlds responsiveness or professionalism, the dates they gave me were not met, and I didn?t find out that they could not manufacture the color of the windows I ordered until a month after I had placed the order. All in all it was not a very enjoyable experience and I will not use Window world again
