Description of Work: Checked air conditioner and told me they would get back to me with prices for two alternatives for how to fix the problem. Never heard from them again. I don't recall the date of the service, and the price was whatever the deal on Angie's list was. It was last spring.

Description of Work: I remain confused about charges. I prepaid $75 for installation of ceiling fan. I needed extra work done and paid $608 more for installation. When I asked company for details about all charges, the answer was vague. I would like a statement from them showing all labor charges and just how the prepaid promotional amount figured in to the whole job. The work was great, but I feel I might have been charged too much.

Description of Work: They =serviced the water heater and a furnace tune up and installed a whole house humidifier. The service was excellent and the humidifier has made a dramatic difference in my health and I can not be happier with the work. They came out again and serviced UV germicidal light system. They were efficient, neat and took away all the debris.

He said that he was on vacation here up north visiting family, and often picks up extra work with South Hills when he visits. | |He inspected my furnace and A/C, and provided a written receipt of having performed the inspection, and that it was free of defects. | |He later provided me pointers on my new home, which I very much appreciated.

Description of Work: South Hills Electric came to my home to label the circuit-breaker panel. It took them about 1-1/2 hours (3 men). They were very polite and efficient, and I was happy with the outcome. I would not hesitate to contact them in the future for additional work.

Description of Work: I called him to basically look at my 7 year old AC unit which stopped working. I had the "$77 A/C Tune-Up and Up to One lb of Coolant" package bought. Despite all the clues were pointing that the coolant leaked due to overdue filter change (when we were are out of town), the guy was adamant that simply refilling the coolant WILL NOT WORK and he wont do it. He was claiming that EPA folks will be on his tail if he did that :-). He would rather send me a quote to replace the unit or to run a leak analysis / repair (for thousands of dollars). I called another provider and he came and just refilled the coolant (for less than $200) and it has been working fine since then. They guy was basically just looking for a chance to rob and did not even try to fix the problem. I know I didn't lose lot of money on him (luckily) and his EPA comments made me completely not trust him. But still the $77 I paid was absolutely useless.

This part ended up being under warranty by the furnace manufacturer and I only had to pay the labor through another technician. South Hills Electric LLC tried to sell me a new high efficiency furnace, which was also over-priced. Personally, I would never call this company again.

Description of Work: South Hills Electric came to inspect my a/c units. There was a problem with one of the condensers. Since the a/c had been installed within the year, by another company, they suggested that I call that company and have the repair done by them for no charge. Very nice guys. Would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: An inspection of my old furnace was done professionally and a camera was able to catch a small crack in my furnace chamber. The provider turned off my pilot and suggested that I purchase a new one. He also said that my electrical system could not support a new furnace and it also would have to be replaced. He sent another representative to my home to evaluate my electric. That person then told me that I also needed to replace my outdoor wiring as well coming to a grand total over $9000. I called the city and asked for help and they felt that the evaluation was in error. However I did not have heat until I could manage time and expense to replace the furnace, which was four weeks and some very cold days. I looked for another company and found much better results.
