Installed whole house humidifier per an Angie's List 'Big Deal'. They ran into some issues with the installation and had to reschedule and charge a little additional, which was fine. My husband was so impressed he has decided to use them as our regular HVAC contractor.

It went well. He answered my questions. He came on time. To me it sounded like he wanted to sell a new furnace. Their prices are high. This was for my daughter.

I was hesitant about installing a centralized humidifier because number one, the cost and secondly, the effectiveness. I had heard from a few sources that humidity could be obtained just as effectively with a pan of water in the room. Others had told me how pleased they were with the results of humidified air reducing dry skin and nasal passages. So when I saw the super low offer for an Aprilaire central humidifier, I thought I would give it a chance. The company was very timely with the appointment and the installer was more than professional with his explanations and work. It took no time for the work to be completed. In two days I saw the results I was looking to achieve!! I saw the dust accumulation decrease, no more stuffy nose and dryness and electricity to the air is gone. I waited a few weeks to write this review to make sure I remained completely satisfied and I certainly have.

I believe they are professional. The only thing is the humidifier is not as good as I expected. I can't feel majoy difference and I still feel dry. Maybe I should try different brand or models?

Provider was able to schedule us very quickly for installation. They were flexible with timing and arrived on time. They worked with us to decide where to install the humidifier, and the technician was thorough in explaining the system to us. The technician was professional and the customer service from those in the office was very good.

Personnel and materials were excellent. Job was done well. good communications. fairly responded to minor problems.

They installed a switch for a light. They did a good job on that. The disappointing thing was that I paid for two hours of work and did not get two hours of work. They seem to be more sales oriented than service oriented. They plastered their advertising stickers all over my basement. They did not ask if there was anything else they could do since the two hours were not up. Disappointing to say the least. Light switch works--I'll give them that.

I had the furnace checked for the winter & he made sure everything was in worker order. The technician took the time & showed me how to clean the filters in the electronic air cleaner. I would recommend this company to family & friends!

Installed automatic gas generator. Reasonable additional cost for having to tunnel undersidewalk to install gas and electric connections. They did forget to leave the instruction manual, but I believe that they will send it given their highly professional job and courteious workman who worked late to complete the job in one day.

justin my technician was excellent. not only did he fix my furnace but he was very punctual, polite and patient in explaining the repair to me. my furnace was still experiencing some issues a couple days later and justin came out the same day i called in the late evening (free of charge) to fix what i originally had paid for. he wasn't satisfied until i was. he went above and beyond. i feel confident that I found a personable technician that i can trust for future repairs.

This company was wonderful to work with. I can't say enough good things. I called them on Wednesday morning because our furnace wasn't working correctly. The person I talked to was so nice and courteous on the phone. After we went through some possible troubleshooting, he scheduled someone to come to my house at 2PM that day. Justin was the technician that came and he called to let me know exactly when he'd be there and showed up right on time. He checked and assessed the problem in a very short time. Once it was discovered that we wouldn't be able to use our furnace that night because it was unsafe, Justin went over some options with me. The best option turned out to be a new furnace. He said that he would bring back some heaters for the night and scheduled a crew to be there to install the new furnace the next morning (Thursday). The next morning, Justin called to tell me when the guys would be there and that he would be there later. The crew showed up and got right to work. They got the new furnace and everything installed in about 5 hours. Justin showed me everything they did and explaned it all to me. This was a great experience! I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs HVAC work done! Thanks!

Justin Terhune, the technician from South Hills Electric, arrived on time with all the tools and supplies required for the job. He was able to install the humidifier on our furnace quickly and removed all boxes and packing materials when he left. Very courteous and friendly. Before leaving he described what he had done and how the unit functioned, is controlled, and even provided a check list on what to check before calling in a service technician should something not work properly. We would use this company again!

The electric company was great. They were timely, the communication was excellent. They cleaned up after themselves. The dealer rep explained the problems and told me the steps to correct it.

I was sent several courtesy email reminders of my appointment. The technician, Justin was on time and very friendly. He got right to work with the inspection and explained everything that he did and was very informative about other questions I had. I have used another Furnace Company over the past couple years. I wont use any names, but it's a big company and the name rhymes with "fleece". Both times I felt ripped off by them, I was overcharged and had poor service. I felt very comfortable with South Hills EH & C and I was totally satisfied with the service and would definitely recommend them to others. They are my new "go to" folks for this type of work!

They did a great job. They were responsive.

Technicians warned us that our 24 year old furnace was a potential danger for carbon monoxide poisoning and suggested we not use the furnace. They showed me exactly where the problem was originating and indicated they could not complete the inspection beyond that point because of the danger. They left information and estimates regarding installation of a new furnace. After doing some comparison shopping on line it was clear that their prices were way out of synch with other similar manufacturers and installers. I had someone else install the new furnace of comparable quality.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out okay. I thought they were okay, they just did a general inspection, and so I can't say too much about it. They were very kind and we didn't have any problems. They found something was broken, and so they wanted to replace it, but we have insurance, and so we didn't pay extra.

Appointment was scheduled for 1:30; they called and asked if they could come SOONER, as they were AHEAD of schedule (imagine that!!). My husband was not at home, but was able to be there by 12:30, so they came promptly at 12:30. My husband said as soon as they came in the door, they put covers on their shoes so they wouldn't track dirt into the house. They installed the humidifier, explained how to use it properly, recommended the setting, etc. They removed the old humidifier control in our diningroom. Overall, they were extremely professional, polite and prompt. So refreshing to work with such a professional company! The electrician I have used for years has retired and I will be calling South Hills Electric for my future needs. And I will not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

Justin called to let me know he was on his way and might be delayed due to traffic. He was barely 10 minutes late. He was competent and professional and explained everything he was doing. He was a pleasure to deal with and South Hills Electrical is lucky to have him as a technician. I would definitely call them again for maintenance or repairs.

Inspected my HVAC system as part of the AL-Big Deal for $69.00 for a rental property I own. Bought the deal, and didn't receive a follow up call to schedule. I had to call after a few days. Scheduled it as soon as I called, and I couldn't be there, but they arrived on time, and the tenant let them in. Inspected the HVAC System, and called me with the results: Apparent blow Heat Exchanger because the carbon monoxide emissions were hitting 23ppm carbon monoxide! Technician recommended I replace the heat exchanger, and since it such a new unit, he would call the manufacturer to see if the entire parts and labor were covered under the manufacturer's warranty: Labor expired, parts were warrantied for 27yrs! Labor rate install quoted at $536.74. I know strange they can get it from a book, it must be done so often. Caught off guard because the system was installed in 2007 and is a 93% High Efficiency Goodman. Not that a cracked Heat exchanger doesn't happen, but statistically, there's a reason there is a 27yr warranty on the HE unit. Anyways, this indicated almost a health risk, and he said he could perform the work as soon as he ordered the part. Since the unit was under warranty for parts, but not labor, labor only on the replacement was $536.74. That sort of reading indicates a blown heat exchanger as non-combustible gases were leaking into the living space. Needless to say, surprised and incredulous, I asked if he verified his meter, to which he said he had, and asked if I could wait for a bit and see about getting a second opinion. I immediately called an HVAC person whom I trusted and have used before but they are expensive and asked for a same day inspection emergency. The new technician brought 2 meters, and found ZERO ppm at the main stack vent, and I had to pay $95.00 for an emergency show up and test. Most expensive 15 min. Anyways, I asked the original technician back to actual check the system again, but I would be there. He basically said he found his meter was mis-calibrated the day before, and that he was not sure of the reading himself. Obviously, this was a different when I've got confirmation that something was going on. Anyways, he tested it again with the "calibrated" devices, and found ZERO PPM of CO. So, lesson learned: double check your readings, and heat exchangers in a 93% HE furnace have almost no CO emmissions anyways, because they are designed to wring out as much as possible. Take it for what it's worth: if I didn't spend the extra $95 for a second opinion I would have spent $536.74 instead.

Justin was wonderful. He was scheduled to be here at 8:00 and he was here at 8:00. I have rentals and I have 5 furnaces so he went from furnace to furnace to all rental properties. He was very professional, and very personable. He wrote down things that could help prevent any problems in the future. The deal was $59 but I paid additional amount because he inspected 5 furnaces.

I purchased a Big Deal coupon from them and they didn’t charge me anything extra. That was good because they didn’t try to sell me anything. It worked out fine. Nothing stood out about them like exceptional. I think they just came out and looked at everything. Then they serviced and did whatever they were supposed to do. There was nothing bad to say. They wore booties when they came into the house. They were organized and checked the outside air conditioner. They were really professional.

It went alright. I must have read wrong, I thought it was a maintenance like they're going to clean the furnace and all that stuff and basically they would just tell me if my furnace was good or bad. It wasn't the fault of the company, it was totally my fault because after I reread it I realized it just kind of saying whether or not it's a good or bad furnace. I just read it wrong so I kind of mislead myself there. I have a very old house and it had a very old furnace and he told me that I needed a new one and the quote that he gave me was just way too high for my budget. Ironically enough, I just got a new furnace today by somebody else for about $3500 less. The guy was very friendly and he was kind of very open about the furnace. He let me know what's going on in the furnace. He set it up and he came when he said he was going to come. His quote from what I have found elsewhere is just way too high for what they are quoting on doing the job. We found somebody else that did something for a lot cheaper and it was very, very good.

The installer arrived on time and did a very good inspection of the furnace. He was very courteous and respectful of our home.
