Scheduled appointment and they arrived on time. Went over what they were going to do and how long it would take. I hung out while they did the installation and asked a few questions just to get a idea how it worked. He explained how I need to change the filter and had me actually remove it and replace it back in, to make sure I saw how it all went together. Explained the dial and how to adjust the humidity, especially if the windows have condensation.

I bought a Living Social voucher for $49.00. Rich called before he came and was prompt. He did all that was needed to clean and inspect an air conditioning system, in the house and outside. He explained everything he was doing. He was very cordial and professional, and did a great job. I am planning to call South Hills Electric in the fall to clean and inspect my furnace.

Everything went perfectly, except I had trouble ordering the Big Deal and accidentally ordered it twice. Hence the request for refund for the second one today. Thank you!

Very well! We worked with Justin mostly. He came to our house for the bid and sat with us to discuss options and pricing in person. Much better than just getting a bid in the mail. He also led the install. One Above & Beyond Example: They discovered we had a significant portion of our gas hot water heater vent stack corroded out, leaking trace amounts of carbon monoxide into the home (but low enough that it wasn't deadly toxic to set off our CO alarm). We're very glad they found it and replaced it for us, basically at the cost of the materials. One Room for Improvement: although they told us exactly what size filter to buy we're not sure where the furnace filter was supposed to fit! When we (think) we found it a few months later (expecting it was time to change it), we discovered there was never one in there to begin with. Overall, He and his crew were very professional and did a good job cleaning up. We were VERY happy with the furnace, a/c and thermostat he helped us select. House stayed very comfortable through last summer and winter.

I bought a deal from Angie's list for a ceiling fan installation. The company responded quickly and we scheduled an appointment. The ceiling fan was installed with no problem and works perfectly. While he was there he gave us an estimate for installation of 2 porch lights. I bought another deal for a ceiling fan installation and he returned and installed the ceiling fan and also installed the porch lights. He did an excellent job and I would call him again when the need arises.

He came to my house, and looked at the work he had to do. Looked at the electrical box, and said that he might have to install a new one, because it may not hold the ceiling fan. I have 2 other ceiling fans in other rooms, and the hold them just fine. I asked him how much it would be and he said an additional $200. I would never use him or recommend him to anyone.

They took one ceiling light fixture down to see if their was a proper power box. There was not. So they gave me the cost of putting the boxes in up front. I thought they did give me a good morning of service. They didn't leave until I was satisfied and were totally courteous. I would definitely call them again.

Every part of my experience with the electrician went well, except the pressure sale of more services when on site. They were courteous, punctual and the price they gave me was reasonable (as an Angies list special). But, once here, they tried to upsell me on a few additional items that I didn't want and didn't ask for.

The service went well. They came out when I scheduled it. He said there was a part that was going to go bad, and it should be replaced, and I paid and additional amount for that. He said that when he tested it electronically, it was at it lowest range, and it would go anytime, it would take 6 days or 6 weeks. I have some reservations about the company, because I really felt they wanted to replace my electrical box for $2800. A new guy showed up minutes after the first guy left, and he gave me the estimate for replacing it, and yet the same company offered to replace the box for under $1000. In my case it may be more, because it has electrical panels and fuses. I asked around how much it would cost to replace an box with electrical panels, and it was at $2000. I was very pleased, the fellow who came and did the check assisted me with something I was doing and struggling with, so he stepped in. He was genuinely very nice and very helpful, and I felt informative too. It is the first time I used an Angie's List provider, and I felt like they offer this low price, and then try to get you to buy something more.The guy who came to do the sales was a little more, but I know what sales men are. He said they could work out a financial plan and I felt that he was a little pushy. The price was good, I did check the part that needed to be replaced, and their price was reasonable. When I called to scheduled, they immediately booked it, and I gave my phone number, and he called to say when he was leaving the shop. They were 45 minutes away, and he was here in 45 minutes. They were professional, they put their sticker on the heater, the fuse box, and the furnace.

I changed the scope of my project, and went with another vendor.

They were very polite and professional, however, their quote was over $800 more than another "A Rated" Angie's List provider. Needless to say I went with the other provider. If I need an estimate in the future I will contact them.

They did the job of tune up and cleaning, did not replace the filters. posted their flyer too many places.

After I purchased the deal from AngiesList, they contacted me within a day to schedule service. On the day service was scheduled, the technician called me to let me know he would be late. While he was about an hour late to my appointment, (1) I very much appreciated that he took the time to call (I've had many contractors fail to do this), and (2) he was late because of the actions of the previous customer, not due to any negligence on his part. Both the office staff and the technician were very professional and pleasant to deal with. The appointment took only about 30 minutes. I would work with this company again.

He talked me through it and then actually gave me his cell phone number so my brother-in-law (an HVAC specialist) could call him and find out more details. They weren't the least expensive so we went with another company for the furnace replacement

Jeff arrived early, was very professional and provided reasonable recommendations. The work was completed in a timely manner and he cleaned up after himself. Jeff explained the problems that he encountered and discussed the work that was needed and the pricing options that were available. I have used South Hills Electric in the past with similar results and will use them in the future.

They replaced my gas furnace. Their service was fantastic! They were punctual and very courteous. The guy that came out was very intelligent and knowledgeable about what he was doing it was a one day job and great work. I would recommend them and use them again.

The service went very well. We took advantage of the special. We made an appointment with them, they came to the house for the installation, they showed up on time and the workmanship was good. There's no problem with the unit since it was installed.

All in all I was happy with the results. The technician was friendly, professional and punctual. The price seemed to be a very good deal. The only thing I didn't like was I didn't receive anything showing what the 20 point inspection actually was. As he went through the components he briefed me on what he was doing and the readings he was taking, however I know very little about HVAC. At the end, I received the invoice for the service along with some quotes for some items he recommended/suggested I look into in the future, but there was no breakdown of what components he specifically inspected and cleaned and what the results were of those inspections and readings. Ultimately I would have liked to have something stating the exact condition and readings at the time of the inspection, but it appeared as though he did not write anything down as he was going, thus it seemed to be a moot point to then ask for a list. Other than that, I would consider using this company for similar work, but I will be sure to ask the technician ahead of time for a breakdown of what he will be doing and what the results are.

We had just recently moved to the area from across the country so were very nervous about finding a good Heating & Cooling repairman and this is why we joined Angie's list. We thought this Big deal would be a good way to kind of 'interview' a company at work. Well, with the help of Angie's List our search ended with our first need for a company such as this - thank you! Justin was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable in his field. My husband was very pleased with the inspection and I know that we will be calling South Hills Electric Heating & Cooling if we ever need this type of work.
