South Hills Electric LLC Heating & Cooling

We are purchasing a home and the homeowners did not want to service the furnace because it was "only a year old". Our home inspection revealed water leaking inside the furnace and didn't want to take a chance and then have a major HVAC issue at the start of winter. I call the owner Pat on Saturday morning expecting a pricey service call for off hours. After speaking with Pat at length about our scenario he gave us an option to purchase a yearly service plan for $12.95/mo instead of paying $129 for a weekend service call. Do the math and package has literally payed for itself in just this one call. On top of that we get two routine service visits for our HVAC and AC per year plus priority que for service calls in the future. He could of just nailed is with the $129 fee and called it a day. This speaks to his reputation and loyalty to his customers. Dan the tech met me at the house on Sunday and fixed the issue without a charge. He was professional and even explained what he was doing. I highly recommend South Hills Electric without hesitation. On top of that they offer electrical services to boot. Talk about a total package. In today's day and age you have to do your homework or you can get screwed. It's nice to find a company like this and know your a going to get great service and no small print scenarios.

We were able to get an appointment quickly, which was great. But they were 7 hours late arriving. They did call to say they were stuck at another job. Fortunately we had no place to be, so we waited. and when they came they got the problem fixed. But they did not have the proper wall switch, so they had to come back the next day. They did and all went well

The appointment went very well. The gentleman from South Hills was able to gain access to all the areas he needed to without making a mess, and provided a detailed overview of how the systems should work in a best case scenario. I have had South Hills Electric come back several time at my house for season check-ins, at both my primary residence as well as my rental properties. They are my go to electricians.

I contacted them on Friday but was not able to reach them, I called today and they told me they could not service my area.

Justin was fantastic, he came out and did a great job. They are were on time actually he called and was a little bit early and wanted to make sure that was okay, and they were professional.

I used a coupon for a whole house electrical inspection. they inspected the kitchen cause the electric went out there only. they recommended replacing the panel inside and out. the temporarily fixed the kitchen. there was a coupon to replace the panel but I could not use it . I still don't understand why.

No sales pitch. I felt I was in control of making the decision that was best for me. Justin told me what I needed to know, and more. Sitting on a decision on any greater work, but I did replace the filter and panel, which is why cost went from $59 to $150.

On 10/7/14, Duquesne Light replaced a transformer on my street, after I called them regarding the power surges in my home. The surges damaged a surge protect strip in my house and my furnace. My furnace would not kick on. I found a South Hills Electric Big Deal for ?$49 Electrical or HVAC Service Call plus $50 Credit Toward Service?. Before purchasing the deal, I called and spoke with Donna. She confirmed that the deal was good for what I needed and that they do service the North Hills area for no additional costs. By the end of the brief conversation, I had purchased the deal online while she was simultaneously scheduling my appointment for 10/13/14. Donna was awesome! She was very helpful, pleasant, and professional. Shortly after our call, I received a confirmation email. Pat arrived on time in a professional polo shirt with the company logo on it. He tested my furnace and explained/showed me the possible issues. He replaced the transformer. He had the part with him in his pickup truck. He retested my furnace and did a carbon monoxide test. He recommended that I replace my filter and get a carbon monoxide alarm. The service took about an hour. Pat provided me with a professional carbon copy receipt and left me with information about a service plan offer. Afterwards, I received an email with a typed copy on my invoice and a ?thanks you? email with a brief survey. I filed a claim with Duquesne Light and submitted my South Hills Electric receipt. I just spoke with the claims department and it sounds like they are going to pay it.

I called and made an appointment, something came up and we had to cancel the appointment. When I called back to reschedule they told me that they do not service my area. I am located in a county that is listed for the Big Deal.

After receiving my deal code email, I was able to get in touch with the provider quickly. He was polite and helpful, but informed me that I do not live in his service area. I emailed Angie's List to request a refund, and also received a prompt, polite, and helpful response. While I'm disappointed that this great deal isn't available to me, I am satisfied with the response I've received from both South Hills Electric and Angie's List.

very well! Justin called before coming to let me know when he would be here. He was polite, professional and respectful of our home by putting on shoe covers when entering our home. Before starting, he walked me through what he would be doing. After the inspection, he went through his findings, making helpful recommendations.

They were terrific; no complaints. On time, on budget, per the estimate provided. Thorough and professional and personable, too! They even came back and re-attached our dryer filter which had come un-done during the inspection.

I would have rather they called, because I didn't get the email. I was then told that they do not service my area

We asked for a quote for a few things. While the electrician was there he pointed out a "hazard" that was apparently not up to code. Told us it was a severe problem and that it needed to be fixed immediately. Received a quote of $4k which was absolutely outrageous and unexpected for this work to be done. Decided to get a second quote from CW Electric. They agreed it was an issue but not a "severely hazardous issue" and the quote was for $2500 less than South Hills Electric!! HORRIBLE! If you use these people, they are scamming you!!!!! BUYER BEWARE! And this "service fee" for a quote just proves that they're terrible! If they knew they were so good and competitively priced, they wouldn't have to charge a service fee. PATHETIC!

I have a complicated heating system, I have both a gas furnace and a heat pump. I was able to get a cheap, new thermostat for the furnace and wire it up myself, with their guidance. This will at least give me heat until they can come out to make a more permanent fix. This saved me from having to pay an emergency service call fee which probably would have done the same thing that I had to do because nobody stocks the proper thermostat for my unit, so it had to be ordered anyway. It took five or six phone calls from me and the temporary thermostat was installed. They went out of their way to provider great customer service and help me save money at the same time and most important of all get my house warmed up! I am amazed that this level of customer service still exists. They are coming out in two weeks to install the new, permanent thermostat.

Brian was very nice. He answered my questions and explained things to me. He fixed the issues and was on his way.

Jeff has been here in the past, he is fantastic! He is efficient, prompt, very thorough, clean, and detailed. I would definitely recommend him! I have a monthly fee I pay for them to check the furnance and A/C each seasonal change.

The workers showed up on time, installed 2 fans for us, both are working well, they honored their price, and overall were tidy. Thank you and will call your outfit again in the future.

We had taken our old ceiling fan down and unpacked the new ceiling fan ahead of time. Brian arrived right on schedule and installed the new fan. We have used it all summer with no issues.
