The initial installation had a manufacturer's defective piece. South Hills came out multiple times to fix the issue and were very courteous and had great service throughout the whole process.

The work was fantastic and they did superb job.

Team immediately took photos of heat exchanger and claimed it needed replaced (total furnace replacement). Subsequently we hired another HVAC contractor who confirmed our heat exchanger was OK.

Great overall. The first appointment was cancelled last minute which was inconvenient, second appointment they showed up a bit later than I expected but were efficient and neat.

James was the technician and he was friendly, courteous and did a great job!

Diane in the office was wonderful to deal with; I called a number of times to discuss what was happening and she was always pleasant and helpful. The tech, Eric, explained everything to the buyer resulting in there being no remaining issues. Eric's knowledge and professionalism were excellent.

A technician arrived within the promised window. However, after a half hour came up and said he thought he might know what the problem was, but needed my authorization to continue. That struck me as odd. So I asked how much. He stared blankly at me and said “I don’t know.” He waited a second, as if he expected me to authorize some untold expensive something. I asked him to check. He stepped away and was on the phone for a bit, and then came back and told me I needed an “advanced diagnostic,” which costs $254 additional dollars. This did not include any parts. This did not include labor. This was simply $254 to find a problem. Maybe. I thanked him for his efforts, but said I would ask another company to come run a proper diagnostic. I am hopeful that the best case scenario is that this tech really didn’t know any of this, and wasn’t trying to get me to authorize a huge bill without me knowing. After calling around to a few of the competitors in the area, I’m quite convinced this “advanced diagnostic” is not common practice, and suggest you avoid this company in favor of a more transparent and honest one.

I was told I needed a new furnace at $3500 because mine would be shut down due to possible carbon monoxide leakage. I have carbon monoxide detectors through the house never experiencing any problems and have lived here for only two years. Was told I also needed my water heater replaced along with the circuit box changed.

The technician from South Hills Electric arrived on time and ready to work. He removed an old ceiling fan and installed a new one in our kitchen. The work was done perfectly and in good time. The technician was professional, friendly and polite. All was cleaned up before he left and he (at my request) took the old fan away.

Service tech immediately started finding problems. Claimed there was a cracked heat exchanger, and wanted to install an over $10,000 system. Also treated me like I knew nothing about plumbing or heating systems. Told me things I knew were not true. Got another bid from a competitor that was over $3,200 cheaper, for similar equipment. Will not use South Hills again.

Having negative thoughts now. Thought I'd pay $75 X 2 or $150.00 to install two fans. I had to buy the fans. $100 X 2 or $200.00. Now up to $350.00. I'm happy with that. However, it was recommended that I needed stronger ceiling electrical boxes in ceiling. Mine were plastic and were only supported on one side of ceiling joists. Sounded OK. Work now involved going into attic, taking out old electrical boxes, and replacing with metal boxes that were supported between two joists instead of one. That work, based on standard prices I was told, was $675.82. My hoped for $350.00 fan installs now became $1,025.82 for me. I OK'd the work so my bad, but the $675.82 extra cost seems exorbitant . Of course, I don't deal with that line of work, so maybe it's proper. I just have a bad taste about the whole thing. Buyer's Resmorse perhaps. Oh, both fans work pretty good, although one is not quite flush with the ceiling. I cannot get photo's from phone to this review.

The technician was prompt, polite, and thorough. I appreciated his willingness to answer questions related to furnace operation--and even a question related to my gas hot water tank !

Service was fine, but when the furnace was red tagged for replacement the representative came on with a strong sales push to get us to buy a very expensive unit. We declined.

Purchased special offer for a Humidifier and installation for $329. They came and told me that because My house has flex water lines they could not complete the installation. They told me I would have to get a plumber to finish the job. Seriously???

When he arrived, the serviceman said he would not check the thermostat. This caused me concern, as the calibration of the thermostat to the in-house temperature produced by the air conditioner is part of the inspection. As he left after inspecting the air conditioning parts inside of the furnace unit and the condenser outside, he stated that he had not put gauges on the pipes carrying the refrigerant "because that just lets some of the gas escape." I realized he hadn't check anything, really, at all -- just taken the covers off and looked at the machinery without actually checking the working of the air conditioner.
