The provider, Dan, arrived on time and worked quickly and thoroughly going through the basement to look at the issues I had identified and any other potential electrical issues. He answered all my questions and helped me to understand what issues may be related and which could be taken care of individually. At the end of the appointment, he gave me several options as a way to "lump" the work together to get the most efficient use of labor (and the day off work I will have to take to get it done!). I really appreciated his honesty and the time he took to help me figure out the most cost effective way to get my electrical work done. He provided me with a written estimate of all three options he worked out for me. Showing me the options was really helpful because it showed me how much it would cost to have separate service calls for each issue compared to getting it all done in one day. As soon as I work out my budget, I will be getting Dan to fix the outlets, install junction boxes, and the other issues that we discussed.

It went well. I had a problem with my furnace after but they said it had nothing to do with what they were there for.

Dan and Matt of South Hills Electric arrived on time, and got right to work. Unfortunately, my circuit-breaker system is a bit of a mess from years of various electricians working with it. I also have a generator panel, which I believed had all the circuits transferred into it. Dan really went the distance in figuring out what breaker operated what circuit, and which panel the various circuits were in. Matt got the unenviable job of going all through the house - three floors and a separate garage - but hey, he's a young guy and can handle it! Dan found out that some circuits were still in the old panel and some were in the generator panel, but that the generator would run all circuits if needed. Plus he was good enough to set to "off" the breakers that were empty in the original panel. It seems that I have a lot of room to grow, electric-wise, in this house. Bring on the Jacuzzi!!! All in all, it was a good experience, and the peace of mind is priceless in knowing that the panel(s) are safe. I would highly recommend South Hills Electric, and intend to use them in the future.

The big deal was good. There were no additional charges. They were prompt, the guy was very polite, and he didn't try to sell me anything. He said everything was good. They spent 45 minutes to one hour. They were here when they said they were going to be here, they performed the service and didn't create any mess. The quality was excellent. The reason I went with him was because I called the person who I had been using for 15 years, and they weren't able to come, so I checked on Angie's List, and I took a shot, and they were available.

They did the work as promised, but I had to pay an additional 99 dollars for the technician to inspect my boiler which was disappointing. Aside from that, everything else went well.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. They responded early and sent out a young man that tried his best, but he did not know what the problem was. While he was inspecting different breakers and different outlets he screwed up my ceiling fan. He said the problem was not in the house and that it was the power company's problem outside. I immediately called the power company and they sent a truck out immediately. A power company rep said he can't enter the house since the problem could be a big one. He did come in and said I had a problem. The next day I called the company again and they sent an experienced man. Before he did anything he said they needed $350 before they did anything. I looked at him as if I could not believe it. He found the problem immediately, which was a wiring problem in an electrical outlet. I had an extra electrical outlet that he installed. Since I paid cash he knocked it down to $300. This took him less than a half hour, but he fixed it. They came out immediately after I called them and were very prompt. The first man that came did not know what was going on, but he was not a jerk -- he was a nice young man. The other electrician who came out was prompt and came out first thing in the morning. The guy who came out was pleasant and professional. I asked him to fix my icemaker and he did. The only thing I was unhappy about was that they charged so much for what was done.

He was very pleasant. He got the job done quickly, he wasn't condescending, and we chatted afterwards. He fixed the problem. He knew exactly what was wrong. I was shocked at the $300.00 bill, because he knew exactly what was wrong, we moved the dresser, I had the part, and he plugged in. He said "That was your problem". I gave him the money, and that was that. They had already charged me $150.00 the day before. I'm going to call them to see if they'll fix the fan (I would hope they would fix it for nothing, and wipe off the ceiling where their greasy hands were). It's over and done with, but I would still like to have the fan repaired. It works, but the remote does not work anymore.

It was just fine. He didn't appear to be hurried and it didn't take a long time either. They were real good. They responded quickly and they were right on time.

The service went fine. They checked the furnace unit and had to replace one part. There were extra charges for this. They replaced the filter which I had purchased a new one for as well.

The technician arrived on time (even with the snow) and got to work immediately. He was very courteous and friendly. He finished the work in about an hour and explained everything to me. I am completely satisfied.

We went through all his steps to perform the inspection and cleaning. One thing he didn't do, which surprised me, is put covers over his shoes.

They arrived on time for the appointment. They completed the service quickly and efficiently. They were very professional and nice to work with.

We were sure the outside wall GFI was not functioning and was affecting two other outlets, both in and outside. The technicians manipulated the test and reset functions and voila! all three outlets worked. We had tried the same several times but without the same result! They estimated the cost of a solar-powered outdoor flood light replacement and a motion-detector activated garage light. Once we select the units, they will return to install them. The deal included a free service call, so the total today was at no charge.

Did a good job, very nice, very satisfied.

All went well. The original tech couldn't make it due to an accident, but a young fellow did the work in a satisfactory manner. He did not provide bulbs for the garage fixture, but I called and Dan, the original tech brought them the next day.

Purchased this service as part of an Angie's List deal. The service provider promptly contacted me about scheduling and worked to schedule a time that was convenient with my schedule. The inspection was thorough and informative and I was very pleased with the service. Will definitely work with this provider again!

They did a wonderful job, very accurate and informative. My only caveat is that they did not have the actual sticker to put on the box so I have to get that myself or do without. PS I have written this review several times.

Sean was very careful to avoid any major damage to our walls in order to make the repairs. Turned out to take half the time they had projected and therefore half the cost. They were polite and professional. A couple of weeks later we had Justin come over from Heating and Cooling to inspect and repair our furnace. Once again everything went smoothly and we were happy with the outcome. I would use South Hills Electric for any future problems we might have. Glad we found them.

Purchased service as a deal on Angie's List. The provider was very quick to contact me about scheduling and was able to schedule a convenient time for service. He arrived promptly and provided excellent service and advice about our system. Overall we are very satisfied and will use this provider again.

I bought the Angies List deal to service my furnace. I also wanted him to look at my humidifier, since it was not working properly. Setting up the appointment was very simple; one phone call was all that was needed to get my preferred day and time. When the technician, Justin, arrived, he wore booties before coming into the house - which I appreciated greatly. He took his time to carefully examine the furnace and the HVAC system. He advised me on some small changes that I could make to get the best use out of my system. He was also able to diagnose and repair the in-line humidifier. All in all it was a very professional and pleasant experience!

In November we contacted the same provider to look at a light switch that had an arc. They sent a different tech indicating the prior tech was no longer with them. He looked at the switch and determined it was not faulty. We then asked him to look at the dryer line as well as the installation of the outdoor light. He then quoted us more than twice the amount the initial tech had quoted. We were then concerned the first tech did not know what he was doing as the second tech seemed more professional with a stronger background. Therefore, I contacted the owner, Pat, and requested a refund on the first visit for $69 as we felt it was not a valid quote and that the tech was not qualified that they had initially sent out as they had let him go. One month later we have not had a response from the owner.

Justin and Ron were on time and quick. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. There was a hiccup with some damage to the wall while installing registers, but Justin said he'd come back to repair it. That repair is pending, but I have full confidence it will be done. This was the third time I had South Hills Electric do work at my house. Each time has been great. I only gave a B for price because we all would always rather things be less expensive.

It worked out well. I would use them again in the future.

We had Dan, and he was awesome. Very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He saved us money and possible issues with the way the previous person had wired things. This was all done before we bought our house, and he brought it up to code. We have already received a quote for installing a new chandelier. We will be calling to have Dan do the work!

DURING THE ANNUAL INSPECTION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT MY FURNACE WAS NOT SAFE BECAUSE CARBON MONOXIDE LEAKAGE WAS HIGHLY P0SSIBLE.
