I signed up for the furnace tune up in October and gave them dates as they requested to be able to come out. I never heard from the company so by mid November I called them. The employee who answered said that I some how fell through the cracks and the soonest they could come out and do my service was the first week in December because they where extremely busy.

James the technician could not have been a nicer guy. He spent quite some time cleaning out the burners on the boiler and recommended some work that we figured would need done soon. The estimate for the work was quite reasonable and we plan on having the work done very soon. James is an excellent reflection on the company he works for! Based on our experience, we would not hesitate to recommend SH Electric to a friend or neighbor.

Technician was professional and respectful. We've used this company 3 times for A/C and furnace tune ups. They've always been professional. I'm impressed with the thoroughness they employ through taking pictures to document and explain things to the customer.

The job took time but the technician was thorough. He made no issue of the ceiling height - though I was afraid that it may have been a foot higher than their deal advertisement mentioning a max limit of 12 ft height. Though he hauled away the old fans and put all of the unused parts and trash neatly back in the boxes, I did find some loose screws and wire clippings all around the floor of the room. But that was minor (a 5 minute vacuum job picked everything up). The overall job done and the value for money still warrants a 5 star rating.

No actual "cleaning" was done on either furnace. The first "cleaning/tune up" the tech never turned the furnace back on so when I returned back home that evening the house was very cold and I had to figure out that the furnace was left off. The second residence the furnace was running fine until after the tech did the "cleaning/tune up". I called a friend in the hvac business to come look at my furnace and here the ignitor went, coincidence? probably not. The company was supposed to send me an estimate for work the tech said needed done (which was not the ignitor, the ignitor was fine when he was there.....I'm still waiting for the estimate. That was over 2 weeks ago. Maybe they are still waiting for me to call and say the furnace doesn't work but I had another company come repair to it. I purchased these for I felt that if a company is registered with Angie's list (vs purchasing a Groupon) they were a reputable company but I guess you get what you pay for. Next time instead of looking for a "deal" ($39) I would rather pay full price for a "furnace cleaning/tune up" where the company isn't looking to make something go wrong to recoup their discounted price.

We are not mechanically saavy, and the South Hills technician was VERY patient, and explained to us how the humidifier worked. I wish every one I have to hire for work on this 150 year old house would go the extra mile like South Hills does. (Can they do raccoon removal? lol)

He told me that the deal we bought was only for them to come out and install and that the customer had to provide all supplies. There was nothing in the fine print of the deal plus when scheduling we were never told any of this. He told me to get a refund on the deal. I asked if the 2 hours of labor could be used to have the work done and were told no. This and the fact that I had to show him where the existing electric line was running I did not have confidence in his skills.

He looked at my boiler and was able to get it working. He did say that a part was old and needed replacing. I asked how much the part was and he didn't know so he looked it up and gave me a price.

The technician installed the ceiling fan and wall sconce, and they are both working fine with no issues. However, there were two issues during the install that I wished to discuss with the owner, who never returned my call. I gave the company an F for professionalism based on the owner's failure to return my call, not based on anything the technician did. Regarding the ceiling fan, the fan has three possible positions, flush with the ceiling, parallel to the ceiling and floor with the provided down rod, or parallel to the floor for an angled ceiling. My ceiling is low (90 inches) so I wanted the flush mount, the same as the fan it was replacing. The technician was not familiar with a flush mount and did not think it could be done despite my telling him it was the same fan as the previous fan, was the exact same fan as two other fans I have, just a different color (Harbor Creek Springfield II), and all 5 of the ceiling fans I have are flush mount. As the technician did not seem to know what to do I looked through the provided written directions and found the flush mount install procedure for him. He proceeded to install the fan and it is working perfectly. The technician then proceeded to install the wall sconce and did the installation is fine, however, he left without cleaning up the dust and debris, which I did not notice until after he left. Cleaning up was not a hardship for me but I still should not have had to do it. I called the owner and left a message requesting he call as I wished to discuss the installation with him. I would never have bothered including this information in the review if the owner ahd returned my call. His never returning my call, not the technician, is why I gave an F in professionalism and an F overall. If the owner has so little involvement in his business that he cannot find out why a customer wants to talk to him maybe it is time to hire an operations manager or retire. As I stated the technician was not the problem. He looked awfully young and probably is at the early stage of his career. i just wanted to advise the owner that the technician should actively listen to what the customer is saying. I told him that the prior fan was ceiling mounted and showed him two identical fans ceiling mounted. I would have thought he would think to look at the directions himself and wanted to tell the owner this for the technician's benefit. In addition he cannot forget to clean up. It's part of the job. The fan and sconce work fine, the owner doesn't.

Technician came on schedule. A/C unit was cleaned thoroughly and technician explained everything he did. Unit is far more efficient after the service. Additionally, the technician pointed out potential concerns with some duct work and such without pressuring additional sales.

It was fine. There was no extra. My experience was fine. The guys came on time. They were pleasant and clean. Everything was fine. They did a good job.

Everything went very well. I am very pleased with their service. They did find something that COULD be fixed, but it would be expensive, and explained that I could get away with not replacing it immediately. I really appreciated the fact that they did not try to up sell me on something that wasn't necessary. It makes me even more confident in their services. I've used this company before when they were offering a Big Deal, and was pleased with the service then, which is why I immediately requested they come back this time.
