They are very good same as their work last April 2018.

I had South Hills Electric come to the house to give me an estimate for having two new 20 amp circuits installed in my basement for my stereo. Both the breaker box and desired location for new outlets are only about 18 feet apart, with a bulk head above to allow the wire to be fished through. All in all, I've been told by a few electricians it would be about a half day of work and have been quoted between $600-$800. I requested to have 10/2 romex used (as I did with the other electricians) for the two new circuits. An estimate given to me after he did his calculations was for $1606!!! When I asked why so high, he said "it's because of the 10 gauge wire, the job would be about $600 if you used 12 gauge...the 10 gauge costs triple the price". After they left, I looked up price differences between 12/2 and 10/2 romex. Home Depot sells a 250 foot roll of 12/2 romex for $70 (and 250 ft is way more than is required for this job). A 250 foot roll of 10/2 only jumps to $146, so a price difference of only $76, and this guy tells me the job would cost $1000 more for the 10 gauge. To say I felt insulted is an understatement. My advice to this company is to train you employees on how to secure a sale without insulting a potential customer to the point of being enraged. This incident shows the lack of honesty and integrity they operate with, and I would advise anyone reading this review to stay far away from South Hills electric. There are other electricians out there that are more honest than this.

Absolutely fantastic in every aspect! They installed my whole-home humidifier about 5 years ago, and this year water was not running from saddle valve to humidifier. They showed me how to run in to puncture the saddle valve (which I was not originally educated on) to release sediment which prevented water from flowing. Took a total of 5 minutes. I highly recommend this company!

South Hills Electric was aggressive in setting up an appointment to view the job and to visit to obtain the information to prepare a proposal. Honestly, the person who came to my house was very high handed in talking to me, as if I did not really understand what I wanted to have done, nor how the equipment should be installed. Being a professional engineer myself, I wasn't amused. Anyway, the job required a number of pieces of specialized equipment that needed to be ordered from supply houses across the nation. Therefore, I intended to supply these materials to the job and I needed the contractor to perform the labor. South Hills Electric declined to prepare a proposal because I intended to supply the materials. Their excuse was that this would increase their liability. This excuse in quite unlikely, more likely they weren't happy at losing the materials markups. I was unimpressed with South Hills Electric, throughout this experience and I would not contact them for future work.

They were prompt and friendly. The work was completed with no mess to clean up. Completely satisfied.

Removed covers on boiler, said it was too old "a museum piece" and he was afraid to work on it, might break old components. Started sell mode, new boiler for $7400, new Mitsubishi full home system for $25,800.

Everything went quite well showed up early.

After a little bit of checking and line tracing we discovered the issue was a faulty light switch. Actually because the way the lights were wired, had to replace two switches (upstairs and downstairs).

'Couldn't tell you. I reached out via email on 9/4 for an estimate and never got a reply.

The service went fine, but it cost $220 to replace a capacitor which is a fairly cheap part and takes <5 minutes to install

The South Hills technician told me that the heat exchanger on my furnace was cracked, that turning the furnace on would be a safety hazard, and that I should replace the whole furnace before the heating season. I have since had another company come out to inspect the furnace. That technician told me that he saw no evidence that the heat exchanger was cracked and that the furnace did not need replacing at this time.

Very well. The electrician could run the wire and place the outlet exactly where I wanted it, even though it was a tight spot.

There was actually nothing wrong with the outlet but he did review other potential issues. Initially the charge we felt was much more than we expected. We called and they did correct the issue very quickly and professionally.

They came, and did the work. No problems since then

Scheduling was easy. The office manager kept sending me quotes that didn't belong to me. That was a minor annoyance. The window for the installation was 1-4. He showed up at 4pm. Was here till 5pm. I thought he was going to be here a little after 1. Once he got here things went smooth. South hills has some work to do in the office.

The services was wonderful. I been using them for years and I am very happy with them.

He was very thorough, it took a long time and he said everything was fine. My problem is that less than two weeks later the furnace stopped working, it wouldn't come on and they wanted to charge me for a service call which I did not think was fair.

Perfect. The guys were professional and knowledgable.They were on time and very friendly.

Both went well, took entire day, and returned to label new electric panel breakers, which turns off what rooms and devices.
