Description of Work: I had two younger electricians come in to find all my circuits. They did a good job to find everything and even found a couple that were dead. I had hoped they would have done a little better when they actually marked everything. They just wrote it on the space and jammed some things in there. But overall pretty good.

Description of Work: Cleaned and inspected the furnace. Appointment was easy to schedule. The technician was friendly and punctual. Would use service provider again.

Description of Work: The technician was late. He also spent a lot of the time in his truck. I was charged the service call but was told I had three options to fix my air conditioner. One, a new unit for over $4000, fix it for $900 with no guarantee, or fix it for $1800 with slight guarantee.

Description of Work: They inspected the furnace and installed a humidifier. One small part on furnace needed replaced and they took care of it while they were here.

Description of Work: I called South Hills electric to schedule an electrician to come to my home to simply switch two existing flush mounted ceiling fixtures. In other words, remove old fixture, connect existing wires and screw in new one. Please note the ceiling is your standard 7 1/2' height and not elevated. This should be a very straightforward simple job. I asked her to please explain how the pricing and fees work and she said "it is a $69.00 service call to come to your home to give you an estimate" There should be a flat rate quote available for this type of job because really what are they going to see unless I was lying about the ceiling height or something but I honestly would have not argued about the $69. if that was the only problem. She then proceeded to "warn" me that almost all jobs have over a $400. ticket value… That is where she lost me as a customer for this job and most likely all future work because that is highway robbery for the most basic electrical job one can hire an electrician to do. Thanks but no thanks!

Description of Work: I used the big deal because my furnace wasn't working properly. They came over and fixed the issue (the high limit switch was broken). So then my furnace was working and I was happy. The next day, I wake up and my furnace is no longer working. At this point I decide to go through my home warranty. Another company comes over, replaces my motor fan (which I had mentioned was possibly the issue to South Hills) and my furnace has worked great since. My issue is this: south hills was at my house for 3 hours, and the issue was still not resolved. The other company came in, diagnosed the issue in ten minutes and had the part repaired in thirty. So South Hills did end up refunding me the amount of deductible I had to pay the other company, but I wasn't impressed with responsiveness by the managers (the office manager was great though), because I had to call multiple times. Also, I was told by a professional that $300 was significantly high for fixing a high limit switch, but the manager explained that each service has a set fee because in Pennsylvania, they can't charge by the hour. | |All in all, I rated them a C, because they were punctual for the first call, the technician was nice, but my furnace wasn't working within 24 hours and the managers didn't call me back in a timely manner. They did refund me a small portion for having to call a second company, which was nice, but I wouldn't use them again after this experience. They should have seen the underlying issue, not just the apparent issue.

Description of Work: I would not hesitate to call South Hills Electric for my residential electrical needs , nor would I hesitate to recommend them to family or friends. The technician arrived on time, was prompt, clean and confident , crisp, and cordial. He was ready to answer any questions about the job. He took a few extra steps to make sure the final result was even better than expected, recommended improvements for the future and that was completed on a subsequent visit at no extra cost. I was very satisfied with the experience.
