Once I closed on the house, and went back I realized that there were also two deadbolts. I called to update what I needed which was no issue. I was given a window of between 9am and noon for the scheduled day. They called me about 15 minutes ahead of time to let me know they were on their way. They arrived promptly, were extremely efficient, and very professional and friendly. They even showed us how to re-program the garage door opener. Price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them in the future.

The phone person was not very helpful. I scheduled anyway for a week later and 5 minutes later got a call from the owner saying he didn't have time to do the work and to call someone else. He was polite about it, but between the phone person and the call back, I wasted about 3 times longer than necessary.

It was a very good experience with them. They provided an excellent service through their products.

The service was fine. He came then he said it would come. He was very pleasant. The job was done very well. I would use him again in the future.

Mike from North Hills Lock and Safe was very professional. Although I had purchased a deadbolt with keyless entry feature for him to install, it would not fit against the storm door. He consulted with me and we agreed that he would sell me a simple deadbolt and install it instead. That accomplished, Mike fit both the deadbolt and doorknob with the same key for ease of entry. He did not charge for this or the overtime involved. Excellent service and price!

I bought a new house and just needed the door knob and dead bolt lock changed on the entry door. Got a quick appointment, Jim arrived on time, work was done quickly and he was a personable guy to boot. Quick, simple, efficient, reasonable price.

For us, this was a sensitive and emotional thing. My father had died several months prior. And with him went the combination to his file cabinet safe. It was an "old school" safe with the dial combination. We had no idea what was in there. We knew it probably was nothing of monetary value, but sentimental. Bill from North Hills Lock and Safe actually stopped by our house since we lived near him. He knew we were dealing with a loss, and he lived nearby. He didn't want to bother us with hauling it in if he didn't have to - Talk about incredibly toughtful people! He came to the house, and was able to unlock the file cabinet doors (the first problem). He was unable to get the dial unlocked though, and suggested that we bring it in to be drilled. We brought it to the shop, and instead of hauling it in, the owner did the drilling right there in the lot so we didn't have to carry the monstrously heavy file cabinet in. He didn't just get it open... He did it THOUGHTFULLY! By that, I mean he drilled it in a way to make sure nothing inside the safe would be harmed. And he did it in a way that he was able to remove the dail for us as a keep sake. Sounds silly, but that WAS his thought... And you know, it is now hanging on my wall! He also did it in a way that was could restore the safe portion locking system to use it in the future. All very thoughtful. One last thing though that should be brought up - When he got it opened, he never looked. He walked away so we could look at the contents in private since it was a "piece of my father". These gentlemen were the best! Incredibly professional and incredibly thoughtful! I just can't say enough about them.

EXCELLENT. BOOKED APPOINTMENT BY PHONE. ARRIVED ON-TIME. WORKED QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY. WENT OVER EVERYTHING WITH US-CHECKED ALL NEW KEYS, ETC.

Jim was very responsive and professional. Showed up on time, got right to work, finished the job quickly, rekeying the lock and providing us with several sets of keys. Though $90 may seem like a lot for less than a half hour's work, I didn't ask for an estimate in advance, so I don't know if $90 was too much/right on. On balance, the whole transaction was so smooth that it was definitely worth it for me.

He was excellent. He was here for hours making sure everything was done perfectly. He is a very nice man and charged a reasonable price. He did not mind me watching him work, and even said he preferred it for the conversation. He let me know what condition my door was in a made some helpful recommendations. I cannot say enough good about him and would highly recommend him to others.

It had never occurred to me that a shot of WD-40 would easily correct such a key set irregularity problem. SO THAT'S A GOOD TIP FOR YOUR READERS: With any key and lock irregularity, it would hardly hurt to shoot some WD-40 in it first, before incurring the expense of calling a locksmith! Jim Richey informed me that the WD stood for "water dry" and that the discoverers found the right formula on their 40th trial. All the more why it wouldn't seem to be the solution for a key and lock tumblers not meshing readily. He had happened not to be busy when I phoned, so he came right over within an hour (West View to Ross) of my call. He was cheerful, apologetic over the easy solution, seemed knowledgeable, worked steadily, and yet charged only a reasonable fee for a home visit. (The information about using WD-40 for such problems was probably worth the fee. And your readers get it for FREE, if they read this report!)

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE LOCK ON THIS DOOR HAS BROKEN THIS WAY. THE LAST TIME IT BROKE, I WAS TOLD I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW LOCK (LOCK AND SERVICE CALL - ROUGHLY $100). THIS TIME, I CALLED NORTH HILLS, A COMPANY I HAD NEVER USED BEFORE, BUT WAS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. I'M REALLY GLAD I CALLED. RICH HURRIED OVER, BECAUSE IT WAS NEARING 5 PM, IN ORDER TO SAVE ME AN AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY RATE. WHEN RICH LOOKED AT THE LOCK, HE TOLD ME THAT MY LOCK WAS A VERY GOOD ONE, AND ONLY NEEDED TWO PINS REPLACED IN IT ($2.00). FURTHERMORE, HE SAID THAT THE REASON MY LOCK WAS BREAKING WAS BECAUSE THE PLATE WHICH THE BOLT SLIDES INTO WAS INCORRECTLY POSITIONED ON THE DOOR (I USUALLY HAD TO PUSH HARD ON THE DOOR, TO GET THE BOLT TO SLIDE INTO THE PLATE). HE FIXED THE PLATE PROBLEM BY GRINDING THE HOLE A LITTLE LARGER. NOW, MY DOOR LOCKS PERFECTLY, WITHOUT STRAIN. HE SAID THAT IT WILL BE VERY UNLIKELY THAT I SHOULD EVER AGAIN HAVE TO REPLACE THIS LOCK. I BASICALLY ONLY HAD TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE C
