I was very pleased. They were on time, very personable and answered my questions.

They were excellent. They showed up, did well, were helpful, made suggestions as to why the lock was sticking and how to keep it working. I thought they were good.

This work went better than I expected. Thought the skeleton key door was going to have to be replaced but Ben had a great solution to replace the complete knob/lock assembly and add an electronic dead bolt lock that worked out great. We also replaced a door knob/lock and dead bolt to another door close by so that everything was uniform. Ben probably made three trips here to discuss possible solutions and to bring parts over to show me to make sure I would like them. I really appreciated all his help in getting this project done and saving us money in not having to replace the entire door.

I telephoned on Monday morning and received a call back within an hour or two. The appointment maker cautioned that the problem I as I described it (our front door, probably a 1928 original, would not stay closed and I figured the lock itself required repair) might prove extremely costly due to its age. She said, though, that they could definitely come out and take a look at the problem. We were given a Noon-4 window for the following day. Two gentlemen showed up right around 3:30. They looked at the door and quickly diagnosed it as just an alignment problem of the door itself. They corrected that and cleaned and lubricated the lock and were on their way before 4:00 P.M. My only criticism is that I think the appointment maker should have told me that it was $89.95 for the service call (I would have had them come out no matter what given their rating on this site). But we were very happy with the service and would use them again.

I called to have a deadbolt lock installed in a new door. Michael came the same day I called. He was prompt and professional. Michael truly enjoys his profession and went out of his way to explain the installation. He also repaired wires from the security system in the door which was not part of the estimate but did not charge me for it. Even though we never met before, Michael seemed more like a friend who came by to help me (even though he did all the work). He was efficient and his workmanship was excellent. I have never taken the time to write a review for any service in the past but I felt that my experience today warranted it.

I Closed up my business and my storage building for my busines and needed to get everything rekeyed so that nobody else could have access. I called North Hills Lock and Safe and said I needed to get some locks changed. We both met at the business that afternoon. All work was done professionally and punctually. I couldn't have asked for things to go any smoother. I would use them again.

I have a trunk that belonged to my uncle and it has now taken up residence in my house. It is at least 60 years old and makes for an interesting addition to my living room. During a move, the trunk was locked. Of course I have never seen a key for it. Since this wasn't an emergency and the trunk isn't very big, I opted to take the trunk to the North Hills Lock and Safe shop for them to open it. The lady at the shop tried to open it to no avail. She said she would have to let the experts unlock it. Okay, that sounded fine to me. She said she worked there for seven years and she had never seen them unable to open anything. I asked if they would be able to make a key for it. She said they could make a key, because they would have to open it with a key. I was called the following Monday and was told that they worked on it for quite some time and would not be able to make a key, but they could still pop the lock open. I asked them if and quot;popping the lockand quot; meant that the lock would have to be forcibly unlocked and damaged or disabled. They said no, there would be no damage. I returned the following afternoon to pick up the trunk and there it was sitting in their shop, unlocked with not even a hint of scrapes or scratches from popping the lock. Since they worked on it for a while, I expected to pay something north of $75. Imagine my surprise when I was charged $15. Quality would have been and quot;Aand quot; if they were able to make a key, so maybe I'm nitpicking on that one. I would recommend North Hills Lock and Safe to anyone and would use them again in the future.

Everything went well and to plan. No surprises and I was happy with the work. I would use them again in the future.

We left a message for Mike after business hours. Mike returned our call the first thing the next morning, scheduled an approximate time for the appointment, called ahead to let us know he was on his way and provided excellent service when he arrived. He fixed the entry handset on the front door (stuck shut due to failure of extension piece) so that we could open the door. He then installed a deadbolt lock on the same door. He offered us cost effective alternatives to the work requested and allowed us decide what level of service he would provide. It was a great experience and we look forward to working with Mike again.

I called, requesting a certain type of lock for my home and was told by the person who answered the phone that type of lock was and quot;overkilland quot; for a residential home and questioned why I would think I needed that lock. When I indicated that we has used this type of lock for many years, she told me that I was wrong and that I just didn't need to be so paranoid.

The locksmith who handled my request was very knowledgeable and professional. He was able to simply re-key the locks so that the original locks would still work and so he would not have to drill any new holds in the door. He explained the different locks that were in place and was able to give me several sets of keys as I requested. The job took him about 90 minutes. I was happy that the company was able to service my request on short notice and did exactly what I requested.

Our deadbolt had become so tight that we could not open the front door. North Hills Lock and Safe came out, removed the entire door hardware assembly and repaired the deadbolt, the cause of the problem, preventing our replacement of the very expensive door hardware. The locksmith was professional, completed the work quickly, and explained why he thought we had this problem in the first place (and how we could prevent it in the future). The only glitch was arrival time. I had been quoted an arrival between 9am and Noon. At 12:30, he had not yet arrived. I called their office and (within 20 minutes) the locksmith called me and apologized that he had been called on an emergency job and had just forgotten to call me. He arrived by 2:00pm and was finished before 3:00pm.

I called Angie's List on my cell phone and they gave me a list of locksmiths in our area. I called North Hills Lock and Safe and explained our problem to the woman who answered the phone. She said that she would locate someone to help us and call me back. She called back in a couple of minutes and said that one of the guys was available. Rightafter that Jim called and said he would get there as soon as he could but it might take him 45 minutes. We waited in our car and he arrived in about 20 minutes. He drilled out our broken lock and replaced it with a new one. He really knows his business. He was very professional and personable. We will definetly recommend North Hills Safe and Lock to everyone. Thanks for coming to our rescue!
