Terrible. They never called back when they told me they would. Waste of time.
Description of Work: The provider did nothing for me. I called to have someone look at a dishwasher that was not working. I was told by the customer service rep that someone would call me back to let me know when someone would be available. I sat around all day and no one called back. Complete waste of time.

I apologize for my office not calling you back. The message stated that our first available appointment was on Thursday, and to call the customer if we could get to them sooner. My office understood the message to say to only call if we were able to get to your home sooner than Thursday, and since we couldn't they didn't call. They assumed you had somebody else who could get to your home sooner. Our answering Service probably should have stated this differently because this was very confusing.

They did a great job. He quickly diagnosed the issue, ordered the part and gave me an estimate of how long it would take to receive the new part. The company called on schedule and he quickly returned to complete the repair. He also fixed my dishwasher while he was at the house. Very competent and reliable.

Excellent service. Did exactly what I was told and advised. Ryan and James showed up on time as promised, immediately put booties on outside without even asking. They assessed the problem which I had a feeling was the coil, gave me an estimate. They did the job in about 15 minutes total and were very friendly and professional.

I called the main number for Mr. Appliance first thing in the morning. I think my call was answered by a non-local appointment setter/receptionist. She took down all of my information, and then informed me that they did not have any available appointments for several days. I had already taken that day off of work and I really wanted to get it fixed that day. I told her I would call back. Approximately fifteen minutes later, a woman from the local store (Moore & Moore) in West View called me. She told me that they had a cancellation and that a service person could be at my house within a few minutes. She informed me that the service visit/estimate would cost $69 and would be applied towards any work done. I agreed to the terms. James arrived at my home a few minutes later in his Mr. Appliance van. He was clean cut and dressed in a professional service uniform. He wore booties inside. He spent about an hour working on my washer. I had an extra-long non-manufacture drainage hose on my washer that had started to leak at the seal. Luckily, I had kept the original hose or he would have had to order it and come back another day. He moved the washer closer to the sink and changed the hoses. He thoroughly tested for leaks before he left. I paid with a credit card, signed on an iPad, and was immediately email a receipt. My only complaint is that the receipt was not itemized. ***UPDATE*** I recently noticed that the green ground wire on the back of my washer had been cut and it was the wire that was used to secure the hose to the sink. I immediately call Mr. Appliance and spoke with a woman in their call center. She couldn't answer my questions regarding the ground wire. I requested that someone be at my home the following day at 2:00 pm the next day. Additionally, I requested not to be called in the morning because I would be at work. At 8:40 am the following day, Randi from the local office called me. I was able to answer the call and she claimed that she did receive my request not to be called in the morning. She said that she had spoken to James. He told her that he did not cut the ground wire that the wire was already being used to hold up the old hose. The wire was not being used to hold up the drainage hose and the wire was originally attached to a piece of metal on a pipe on the wall behind the washer. Randi stated that she could have someone come out and take a look at it that afternoon. Around 4:00 pm, I received a call that a service person was on his way. Jason arrived a short time later. He informed me that I do not need a ground wire on my washer, since it has a 3 prong plug. The washer is close to ten years old. However, it came with a three prong plug and a ground wire. I assume there was a reason. He said that he could install a new ground wire, if it would make feel better. I decline because I did not have time for him to do it. If in fact, I don?t really need a ground wire, I think that should have been explained to me before James ?recycled? the wire.

The technician knew what was wrong with the fridge within 5 minutes of entering our home. He was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable, which was nice. We have had multiple technicians, from different companies in our home recently fixing appliances (they all seem to go at once!) and Mr. Appliance was the best. The tech who came and did the actual repairs was also wonderful.

Very professional. Immediately put on boot covers so he did not track mud into the house (I hate having to ask). Quickly identified the problem and had the part on his truck. Explained what went wrong and how much it would cost to fix. It took approximately 20 minutes to fix and the service man was only here for about 40 minutes. When completed he double checked everything to make sure it was OK. When I booked the appointment online (extremely easy) they gave a 4 hour window. A few days prior to the appointment they emailed me giving me a 2 hr window. When the tech was 15 minutes out a lady called to let me know he would arrive soon. He was very prompt, helpful, reasonably priced. I would highly recommend and will use their services again.

We used the web site on Saturday to schedule an appointment for Monday at 11-2. Received email confirm on Sunday and on Monday at 11 ish Ryan was here looking at the washing machine. Terrific service and will use again without hesitation.
Description of Work: Mr Appliance (Ryan, tech) fixed our clanking washing machine. He took it apart and found a penny that was lodged in a part of the machine. Excellent service was provided and Ryan was very knowledgeable.

Called with issue about sporadic cooling issue on a 10-year old Kitchenaid. Initial appointment was scheduled for next day and they showed up at the scheduled time and promptly diagnosed problem. Did not have the part on the truck, so follow-up visit to complete repairs scheduled in less than a week. Again they showed up at the time scheduled and completed the repair for the price initially estimated. Refrigerator now operating like new.

After attempting to schedule a specific appointment, the Mr Appliance answering service would only give me two very broad windows of time when they might show up. Specifically, they said 9am - 1pm and 1pm - 6pm. As someone who works and can not possibly skip work for that large of a period of time, there is no way I could use this service.

I am sorry that our scheduling don't work for you. Had you let the person on the phone continue this person would have explained to you that the day before your appointment we can e-mail or call you with a 2 hour window. Since there is no way to tell a customer that we will be at your home at a specific time we give a 2 hour window. There are a hundred factors that can effect a tech getting to your home at an exact time, from traffic, accident, breakdown, spending more time at the customer prior to your appointment, etc. Most companies tell their customers that they will be at their home between 8Am and 6Pm, some tell them morning or afternoon, but almost nobody gives a 2 hour window. The F grades you gave us are totally unfair, and I would ask you to remove them since you never gave the person on the phone to continue. PS: I have listened to a recording of your conversation with our answering Service and you never gave her a chance to explain this.

It was easy to schedule an appointment on their website. I got an email the day before the appointment with the service technician's name and the 2 hour timeframe when he would arrive. The technician arrived on time, diagnosed the problem quickly, provided a quote, replaced the part and was done with the repair in an hour.

We called and they came out two days later. The tech that came over was very professional and knowledgeable. He needed to order a part for us and came back a week later with the part as promised. They gave us a two hour window both times and arrived promptly. They called when they were on the way. my washing machine is now working and I was very happy with the service. I would use them again in the future.

Overall I was pleased with the professionalism of those I came in contact with at Mr. Appliance of Pittsburgh. Repairman, Jim was very polite, well groomed and efficient and diagnosed the problem immediately. My disappointment was the cost of the replacement lid switch that I was told was $80.00+ . I researched a number of other parts suppliers including Sears who handles Kenmore appliances and the highest price I found was a little over $30.00 for that part. Unfortunately, that was after the fact since I had no clue what the problem was with the machine prior to my appointment. The labor, I was informed, is a flat fee depending on the job. In my case it was in the $120.00 range for about a thirty-five minute appointment. Even with my Angie's List discount and a credit for the service call, the total came to over $182.00. The only reason I would not use Mr. Appliance again would be the cost. All other aspects were above average.

It went well. He diagnosed the problem based on the age of the stove and his previous experience with this type of issue. He had the part in his truck and replaced it within a few minutes. He did need to make an adjustment after replacing the part to allow enough gas to enter in order to light the oven. The oven has worked perfectly since he repaired it. No complaints.

The repair men showed up during the time that was given when the appointment was confirmed. They were both very polite and friendly. They fixed the clothes dryer in a little over an hour and suggested I get my dryer vent (duct) cleaned. I especially appreciated that one of the two put shoe protector booties on his shoes to keep my entry hallway and laundry clean.

All in all, the repair required three visits, but no additional cost (beyond the motor cost). Very friendly and professional. | |On the first visit, they replaced the belt and cleaned the inside of the dryer and the vent, but the problem resurfaced a few days later. | |During the second visit, they found a loose bracket, and attempted to repair it. They also identified a damaged bushing which was likely the original cause of the problem, but they didn't have the part (requires the motor to be replaced) so we agreed to try the bracket fix. | |Needless to say, that fix didn't last long, so they ordered the motor and replaced it ~2 weeks later.
Description of Work: They repaired our dryer, which stopped working after getting very noisy.

I called to make sure that they could service my 20 year old GE double oven. No problems, they just couldn't service units under warranty. Made the appointment and was advised I would receive and email the night before with the time narrowed down. Night before, the email came through with the 2 hour window. About 1/2 hour before, the tech arrived, I received a call advising they would be coming over shortly. When Ryan arrived, was very professional in appearance and had booties on his feet to prevent tracking dirt. Explained the issue that the lower oven wasn't working properly. Turns out the problem is a bad control panel, but alas, there are no parts for my 20 year old unit, and nothing they could replace it with. He did share with me that IF they had the part (and did show me that it was no longer available), that the cost would be approximately $680 to replace, which is about the quarter of a new oven. Obviously, we can't replace the parts, and will do the oven in the future. Was very helpful, explained all to me. Signed for the bill electronically and a copy was sent to my email While I couldn't have them repair my oven because the part is no longer available, I would not hesitate to use them in the future for any appliance repair
