Mr. Appliance of Pittsburgh

The coupler broke on my Whirlpool washer on Saturday night. I called Mr. Appliance on Sunday, expecting to get an answering machine but got a real live person (I suppose in case of an emergency). She took the info and Monday morning I heard back from the vendor and scheduled an appointment for Tuesday. They called me to say the repairman (Mike) was on the way and he arrived on schedule. The repair was diagnosed and completed within 20 minutes! I was really impressed by the whole operation.

I originally called Sears to come and fix the range. They could not come for almost two weeks and wanted to charge me $90 just to make the appointment. Mr. Appliance said they could come the next day. That was too quick for me as I had obligations, so we made an appointment for them to come the day after that. He was prompt, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem, and now my oven is working as good as new. He even sent a thank you card after he fixed it. Very professional and courteous.

I got them on Angie’s list. We like them. He was very knowledgeable. He was very nice. He knew about the brand of the washer. He tried to repair something that was too expensive. It was better to get a new washer. His price was fair. His responsiveness was very quick and good. His responsiveness was quick and very good. I would use him in the future.

The job that they did was good. I have used them twice now. They were efficient and were on time. The price was fine. It was good. I would rate them highly and would definitely use them again in the future.

The owner, Ed came out to our home responding to the call for service. He quickly identified the problem regarding the lack of cooling (damper) and explained that the unit had to be ordered. He came back as promised the following week and installed it . Ed was also able to temporarily rig the faulty damper so that the refrigerator could function enough so that we did not have to store our food somewhere else or have to dispose of it. Also, during the initial visit, I told Ed that several years ago, another repair company gave me an extravagant quote to replace the icemaker unit and, just for the heck of it, I asked him to give me his quote. Ed gave me a much lower quote and I was able to surprise my wife with a new icemaker! I used Angies List to find Mr. Appliance and the research was not misleading. Ed was friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonable. I recommend Mr. Appliance to anyone seeking repairs.

Overall, Ed from Mr. Appliance did an outstanding job. I would recommend this company and would use them again in the future if needed.

It was not repaired but it is because of the washer itself. The repairman showed me what was happening by taking the washer apart. He explained that the clutch was bad and I decided not to fix it. He tried everything he could to fix it for me but it is the brand of washer that is the problem.

Very prompt, professional, and knowledgeable.

When I told Ed that the freezer was working but the refrigerator was not cooling, he knew exactly what the problem was. He removed all the accumulated frost, cleared the drain and replaced the broken part. He explained what the problem was and how to trouble-shoot in case it happened again. He was friendly but quick....and very neat. He wore booties over his shoes while in the house.

The repairman, Ed, was very professional and happy to give me details about the repairs he did. Also, the company called me a day BEFORE my scheduled service, saying they had had a cancellation and asking if they could send a repairman the same day. I was delighted to say yes!I liked their cleanliness routine - bringing their own floor mat, putting on booties before entering my home, and thoroughly cleaning up the areas in which they worked before leaving.I highly recommend this company to anyone requiring applicance repairs, and - while I hope I won't need such services again soon - I will DEFINITELY call them if I do.

During a middle of the night snack run, I heard a "sizzling" noise coming from my freezing. I noticed, behind a vent looking type door, there was a hot-orange-glowing wire or coil, and water was dripping onto it causing the sizzling noise. After a while, it cooled off and was no longer hot. However, I couldn't sleep fearing it would catch fire. Anyway,in the morning I called Mr. Appliance and they were sending someone out in 24 hours. A couple hours before the appt, a technician called to tell me that what I saw was normal behavior for the make and model of my fridge/freezer. That is was the defrosting mechanism that goes off twice a day, but almost always goes unnoticed by the consumer. No need to worry I was told! They could have easily showed up, looked at the fridge, told me the same thing and charged me for the appt. But they didn't! To me, that is a class act!

They did excellent job both the times. The workers who came out were very good. They were very knowledgeable. They cleaned up after themselves and there was no problem at all. The appliances are holding up good. I would recommend them to others. I would absolutely use their services again in the future.

The service man was wonderful and friendly. He was very neat and the dryer sounds quieter now than it was when we purchased it.

At 12:15 pm, they called to say the technician was still 45 minutes away. Did i want to keep the appointment?? Since I had been waiting since 10 am, I told them I would wait. At 1:45 pm, I called and cancelled the service. Randy the receptionist was snotty on the phone about the broken promise and about the fact that I was cancelling the appointment. I don't need that kind of bad service.

The store where I purchased my refrigerator uses Mr. Appliance for its warranty work. Service technician George Clark arrived on time a couple of weeks ago to inspect my broken icemaker. He did not have a replacement with him (I have a new model so very few have needed repair thus far so replacement parts have to be ordered). As soon as the part arrived Mr. Appliance phoned me to set up an appointment to have the pat installed. Mr. Clark was very professional and efficient. He brought a Mr. Appliance floormat and wore booties to avoid tracking dirt into my home. He went the extra mile by leveling both my refrigerator and the french doors (tasks not performed by the person who installed it 6 months ago). I would definitely call Mr. Appliance again in the future.

They were supposed to come by on 6/18/2011, but they never showed. I tried calling them but they could not tell me when they would be coming over.

Everything was fine. The only negative thing i have to say was that I submitted a repair request through the web site which was never received. I ended up having to call them 2 days later to request a service call.

I received superior service. They technician, George, came out the same day I called. It took a few days to get the parts, but he did great job. He even wore booties inside our home.

I've had Mr. Appliance by my house several times now over the years to repair my dishwasher, fridge, washing machine and lastly my stove. These guys do an awesome job. I have always been pleased with thier work and I think thier prices are reasonable in comparison to purchasing a new stove, dishwasher, etc. They get you scheduled in fast and they are on time but on the rare occasion they are running late I get a call. The techs are always nice, very professional and they don't mind if I occasionally pick thier brain about other appliances I might be having issues with. They wear those little booties on thier shoes and always clean up whatever mess they might make. I can't say enough good things about them. I hope they are around for a long time to come because I've really come to rely on them.

Unfortunately, the 15% discount Mr. Appliance offers in the Coupon Section of the Angie's List catalog does not apply to parts. Nevertheless, Mr. Appliance's price for the part was in fact the lowest, & they got the part for me quickly. I should have let them order it for me in the first place.

They fixed the freezer. They are fantastic! They are professional and extremely considerate.

My oven had not been heating properly and decided I had better stop using it when I started to smell gas. I called another large national company to look at it and that became a two week odyssey of frustration. When the repair part they ordered arrived broken I decided to look for someone else to come and do the repair. I called Mr. Appliance on Wednesday, they were available the next day. Mike called before he arrived, got here at the time frame promised, had the part to fix the oven on his truck. Twenty minutes later, the oven was fixed. It also cost $150.00 LESS than the estimate from the other company. I wish I would have called these guys 2 weeks ago.

I called Sat and they came Mon. morning--within the 2 hr. time period they said. I always talked on the phone with a live person, courteous and professional. The man who did the repairs was prepared with the parts he'd need, assessed the source of the problems quickly and dealt with them quickly as well. He and his trainee even covered their shoes when they came in the house. Plus I got a senior citizen discount.

I was very pleased with the office staff (called when technician was on his way) and the technician. He was very courteous and wore booties over his shoes in the house. In 25 minutes he had the problem diagnosed and repaired. I will definitely use Mr. Appliance again for repairs.

VERY professional, very able and super work ethics. The price I think was on the higher side, but hey, our fridge is working again, and they did a great job. They were punctual, very responsive, did all the clean up and more during the process of onsite repair and part replacement (motor control problem; installed new control). I'll use them again!
