Molyneaux Home

We called the Molyneaux Angie's List representative and set up a time to bring carpet samples to our home, and provide an estimate for carpet installation for 4 bedrooms, livingroom, dining room and family room ($22,000 - $7000 in discounts for a total of $13,000). One type of carpet sample that we requested was not available for our review, but Steve did take measurements and emailed us our quote in the agreed upon time frame. We did not purchase from Molyneaux. Their price was $5000 higher than another provider who we believe will install the same quality carpet with the same customer service that we expect.

Fabulous!!! Met with Tim at the Penn Hills showroom selected many different samples of tile and carpeting. Tim came to my home the next evening with the samples I selected, met with me and my better half. We discussed the jobs to be done, looked at the samples, I selected made our selections Tim wrote out the bid that evening (which was a Tuesday night) their guys were at our home before 8am the following Monday morning (because I could not have them in sooner). They called ahead to let us know what time they would be arriving, could not have been more professional or nice. Really loved Al and Mike who laid the tile. Tuesday morning Al came back early to grout the entrance and bathrom. By 11am the guys were there to install our carpeting, again could not have been more pleased, they were very nice and professional installers completed a very great job and were done by 2pm. I am not related to anyone at Molyneaux. We are now in the process of talking with Tim and Scott to have ceramic tile installed around our livingroom fireplace. . . . . stay tuned!!!

I was pleased with their sales representative. He was informative and did not attempt to pressure me into more expensive wood. They were having a 60% sale, and stayed with that without question. The men who installed the floor made an effort to cause me as little disruption as possible. They obviously worked well as a team, and knew exactly what they were doing. The results are perfect.

Very well. Everything was tidy & clean, & the install took less time than estimated, as well! Installers called earlier in the week to say they could come a few days early, if we wished (hooray).

Our estimator, Nancy, did a great job. We were pleased with her helpful suggestions and were able to make a decision quickly that left us with no regret! Our installers were amazing!!! Our movers were several days late so we had boxes and random items EVERYWHERE. The installers had to move things all over the place, and they did so with no complaints and handled everything with care. We absolutely love our new carpet and will go straight to Molyneaux if we ever need anything else.

The floor turned-out beautifully and I have received many compliments on it. The installation took a lot of time, as they had to do the floor twice, but they were very eager to please. Overall, they do good work.

It was excellent! They brought flooring samples over and actually ended up coming out twice to estimate. They were very concerned with what we wanted. The installation was very satisfactory. The price was reasonable.

The sale itself went well. I dealt with the store in the North Hills (McKnight Rd). The installation process itself I wasn't terribly happy with. There was just the two of them (which surprised me because the gentleman I spoke to earlier on the phone made it sound like I was to expect a whole army) but they finished ahead of schedule (it was to take two days) and thank heaven they did. The one man (I?ll call him the boss) left on a three hour supply run shortly after arriving (in all fairness he said had to go across town and the road he traveled is notorious for traffic but three hours? After 10am?). Once he did return though, we were witness to a growing stream of abuse directed at his partner (who by the way had worked so diligiently in his absence) and as the day progressed it only got worse. At the end I was feeling pretty bad for the other guy. Alongside that, there were comments the boss made regarding my eldest girl that "if she didn't have braces and was to get all dressed up, she could really get someone in to some real trouble..." Huh? And finally, as the two were cleaning up at the end of the day, the boss made a comment to his partner about how he ?should have stabbed that f***ing rabbit with his box cutter" that he had seen earlier in my yard (in all fairness he may not have seen myself, my four year old and my oldest girl sitting there on the porch). Needless to say, I was pretty much ready for them to finish up and clear out. Personalities aside, the carpet looks good. I did have to call in someone shortly after installation to have a metal strip placed where the edge of the carpet meets the ceramic tile in the upstairs bathroom. I wasn't sure if this was intentionally left off (the man I spoke to on the phone said they don't typically place a strip there because it doesn't look as neat? Sounds like a line of you-know-what to me) but as the carpet had begun to pull up from the bathroom door pushing down against it, he agreed to send someone out with a strip. The gentleman who came out for the service call was very nice and I was soooo thankful that it wasn't the same crew who did the install. Only time will tell if the installation holds up, I am wary the quality will suffer since they appeared to be in a great rush towards the end, but thankful I didn't have to spend another day with those guys. Needless to say, I won't be choosing Molyneaux for my next installation.

Overall, it went pretty well. I submitted a request to meet with a representative via the Molyneaux website. A representative (Dave) made arrangements to come to my house. I told him over the phone that we wanted carpet for a bedroom that we were planning to use as an office, a guest bedroom, and a set of stairs. Although I didn't specifically say it, my husband and I were picturing a berber carpet. When Dave came to our house, he only had plush carpet samples. He offered to come back in two days with berber carpet samples. He was right on time for both appointments and he was very professional. My husband and I opted to go with the 3 years 0% financing and we were able to sign up for that on the spot. The installation was scheduled to happen about 3 weeks after making the carpet selection but it was delayed by one or two days due to snow. The installers were very efficient. I liked that they changed their shoes when they got inside the house. Their slushy boots stayed by the door and they wore clean dry tennis shoes to do the installation. My husband and I had to do a lot of touch-up painting after the installation. Paint got scuffed when they carried the rolls of carpet up the stairs, and the baseboards and other trim had lots of scratches from the installation. That was fine - I guess I should have expected it - but I wished I had been warned in advance.

The date of the installation arrived with a snow storm, but the installers (2 Molyneaux employees) were still determined to do the job. They showed up at noon and didn't finish until 10:30pm that evening--not stopping for meals or breaks. They had to move furniture from room to room as well. They got a little careless at the end with the furniture (we noticed a few minor knicks) but we chalked that up to how tired they must have been. We were extremely pleased with their professionalism and dedication to getting the job done. The carpet looks amazing and we couldn't be happier. We have recommended and will recommend Molyneaux for carpet and flooring needs.

They showed up on time. The job turned out good. Everything went very well.

Molyneaux is extremely professional and they do a fantastic job. It took about three weeks from the time we hired them until when they installed the carpet. They installed the carpet in one day and did a great job keeping everything neat and clean throughout the entire project. They even beautifully finished the ends of the carpet against our hallway stairwell ballisters. Molyneaux may be more expensive than some other carpet installers, but I used cheaper companies at my previous house and the extra money is well worth the additional customer service and fantastic results I got from Molyneaux.

They were very professional and responsive. My only complaint is the price the gave me was way too high.

Even though we asked that the price possibly be lowered, they still remain higher than 5 other bids.that had the same standards as Molyneaux.

Salesman came on time, measured, and set up installation date. Installer (Dave) came on time and worked from 8a.m.-7p.m. to prep floor and lay flooring. He took his time and did an excellent job.

The price was affordable and they did really great work. We were very pleased with them.

Lisa C. the travelling saleswoman was awesome. We did the shop at home option. She was very professional and accurate. I gave her an idea of what I was looking for and she brought good options that matched my requests. Discussed ways to utilize extra material left over and got me the most bang for my buck. She brought name brand samples with a decent variety. She was the primary reason I chose to go with Molyneaux even though they were more expensive than others I looked at. The subs who did the hardwood installation were wonderful. They were on time, poilte, clean and professional and did an excellent job. Molyneaux called and asked if I would be okay with the carpet and vinyl installers working at the same time. I was fine with it and they showed up within 15 minutes of each other on the 2nd day. (It was supposed to take three but because they doubled up they finished a day early.) The vinyl installer was meticulous and I don't think he was a sub. He had the hardest install and did excellent work finishing in about 9-10 hours. The carpet guys were subs and were not quite as respectful of our house. They banged on the floor so hard they knocked a clock off the wall in the kitchen downstairs which came close to hitting the man working in the kitchen. A couple of lightbulbs blew during the banging too. The closet door was not put back on right and it took us a while to get it fixed ourselves. All those things aside the installs were well done and all of our flooring looks incredible. We are very happy with the end result and would recommend the company again.

They had pretty good installers as well as customer service. They were very professional and on time.

They were excellent and I would recommend them to anybody. The man they sent out to do the tile work came out, worked quickly and did excellent work. The men who installed the carpet were outstanding as well.

They came out and did a very good job. There was one issue that I found. When I called them about it they sent a crew right out to fix it. They came out on time to do the job and had it done when they estimated. They do very good quality work. The price is higher than most, but the quality of work is worth it.

He was great and it was a good experience. Their price was competitive. They were punctual and professional.

They have a very nice customer service. They're very helpful and easy to work with. The price is kind of on the high end, but its good quality so its was worth it.

From the first time I walked into the store in Plum to the last room done, I was very pleased with my selections and the installation. The installers were very good, neat and polite. In fact when we did the living room and hallway they came a day early and helped to move everything out of the room. Their prices may be a little higher, but worth it. They have their own installers.

Salesmen told me they don't use subcontractors=they do and I got them. When they got done my front door did not shut they said they do not fit metal doors, of course no one told me. They also they gave me a hard time joining the tile and carpet. They ended up sending 2 different men. Salesmen said it would be 2 day job, was 5 day job. They ended up taking care of everything but all in all was bad time

They were responsive when I called. They were professional and prompt to do the repairs. They did a beautiful job and I highly recommend them to anyone.
