I called Metropolitan Window Company to get an estimate on siding for a house that I was looking to purchase. When I called, I expected to explain to them what I was looking for and give them an estimate of the size to determine an approximate price. I was really trying to determine if siding the house would be an $8k, $15k or $25k job before I put in an offer the house. When I called Metropolitan I spoke with Guy. He looked up the house while I was on the phone and offered to drive by the next day on his way to another job. I explained to Guy that I was looking to put an offer in on the house and just needed a rough estimate for the work that would need to be performed. As promised, Guy called me back a day and a half later with a quote after he looked at the house and took measurements. He explained to me how they would fix some of the holes in the exterior and discussed his opinion on what needed to be fixed and how it would need to be done. I have only received one quote, so I'm not certain how this quote will compare, but my experiene with Metropolitan Window Company more than exceeded my expectations! I put an offer in on the house and will call them back when I go to close!

Metropolitan Window Company repaired sides of large aluminum windows at my home. He is very honest and good. The only bad thing is that he is so busy it can take a while for him to complete the job. I originally called him due to storm damage we had that dislodged slats of the surrounding supports of the windows. The owner and other staff completing the work is very nice and professional. They are right on time and come when they say they are. They also call prior to the appointment. I felt the price was reasonable for the services provided.

From the inital sales contact, their customer service was outstanding. Salesman quickly scheduled home appointment. Low, pressure, answered every question. After, order received thank you phone call. The owner was thanking me personally for my business before we even had the final measurements. The Final measurement was scheduled and owner himself came directly over. We explained our situation, since we had a unique scenario with our custom inside mounted Hunter Douglas blinds. The Owner John worked with me until we found a way to save the thousands of dollars worth of blinds that we had. Keeping this inside mounting was VERY important to us. We received a follow-up call after measurements to confirm a few things. Soon call came to schedule the installation. Installer Al and his son Alex arrived on time and completed excellent work. They more than met my expectations on Fast, clean efficient work. It took 3 days to complete the installation. After the first day I received a call from Metropolitan to make sure everything was going well. They were asking for feedback on the installation progress. The installers receive very high marks for for their excellent Aluminum trim work on the outside of the windows. A++ They were not the lowest bid that we received, but You get what you pay for. We are very pleased with the Marvin Fiberglass window quality, installation quality and outstanding customer service. You wont be disappointed if you select Metropolitan.

Called sales office for appointment. Salesman arrived on time and was courteous and knowlegable. He explained in detail how the work would be done and reviewed details of payment and warranty. The door arrived in the alloted time and an installation date was set. Installers arrived on time and reviewed work to be done. They placed cardboard and drop cloths on floor to protect tile and covered new kitchen cabinets in area of work and started demo of old door. They carefully removed storm door. After removal of jamb, trim and threshold, installer updated me on progress. After installation of new jamb, threshold and hanging of new door I recieved another update. The trim was applied and storm door rehung. Doors and locks checked for proper operation. All debris was removed by installer. Kitchen was swept. Installer reviewed warranty. I highly recommend this company. They are courteous and their personnel perform in a professional and workman like manner. .

This company did a terrific job on the installation, and the quality was nice. They came out to help us when no other company was able to. They did the work quickly and professionally, and I would definitely use them again in the future, if I had to.

I was absolutely satisfied with their work. They were the best people that I have dealt with in a long time. They were absolutely the best people. They were a little high in terms of their pricing but everything else made it worthwhile. I would absolutely use them again in the future if I ever need to do windows and doors.

It was the way business should do business! Everyone from the owner John, to Bob the door installer and Bill the window installer all are caring in their craft. The wood trim was installed on the windows and around the door with the precision of a cabinet maker. The door installer made sure that the interior trim matched special size window trim on the existing windows in my kitchen. Out of the ordinary attenion to detail that sets Metropolitan craftsmen apart from a lot of contractors. The only bad thing and maybe not is that my window cleaning company can't remove the screens from the outside of the house. You could say extra safety from break-ins though. The glass block window install was sub-contracted to a glass block installer company. They did a good job and found out my lintel didn't go all the way from brick to brick, it was 6 inches short when the house was built. They installed a new lintel at no extra charge, but didn't do a very good job of matching the mortar but whose complaining with a free lintel replacement. Metro doesn't nickel and dime you at every turn. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Metropolitan was one of several companies that responded to my initial request for quotes in 2010. The salesman, Guy, explained everything thoroughly and definitely sold me on the healthier, longer-lasting, more energy-efficient fiberglass. It was more expensive than the vinyl price I had expected to pay, and I put off the job for over a year. When I called Metropolitan this year, Guy cheerfully returned to update the quote, even though I live really far from Pittsburgh. In fact, I think Guy is always cheerful, even when I showed up late to meet him (sorry, Guy!). My dogs love him, and not just because he always has a pocket full of Milkbones! It was just a pleasure working with him throughout the job. Also, after a WHOLE YEAR he remembered that one of the other windows in my house (installed by a different company) had a broken piece, and he brought and installed a replacement! The "measure man" Tony came on time to measure the windows so they could be manufactured to fit my house. He was professional and did his work quickly (and obviously well, because the windows fit beautifully). The windows were ready before the time that Guy had estimated. The installer was very professional (and a dog person too!) and I felt comfortable leaving him alone to finish the job when I had to leave before my husband got home. He also must be superman, because not only did he carry everything up my curvy stairs without bumping my nice wood railings, but somehow installed one of the two-pane slider windows that was located 10 feet off the ground in a stairwell - without any help. Also he didn't even look at me like I was crazy when I asked him to save the old glass, and stacked it neatly in a safe place. The windows look beautiful! They took out some big wood pieces that were in between the small historic windows (after checking that they weren't supporting the roof!) and replaced them with continuous windows. I wasn't sure how this would look, but it lets in SO much more light, it is like a different room, and for the first time I noticed that it has a really GREAT view. The windows fit perfectly into the "sockets" left by the old warped wood ones. I got a follow-up call from Metropolitan the next day, so was surprised when they called me later. Apparently the installer, who finished the job while we weren't home, had noticed a crack in the sash of one of the windows. I hadn't seen a thing, and couldn't even find it after they told me which window. Guy came out to replace it (he was involved start to finish) and when he removed the one pane, there was a tiny hairline crack along the length of the fiberglass. I would NEVER have seen that. Even if years from now it caused a problem, I would assume it was weather damage. A+ for integrity! The windows were expensive, but I really feel I got more than my money's worth with the product and service that were provided. I won't know about their thermal performance until this winter, but it is a LOT quieter on the third floor. Metropolitan is really customer-service oriented. They call to give you reminders of appointments and also to follow up after the job. Also, they don't charge extra to pay by credit card, so you can pay your balance over the phone after the job is done.I highly recommend Metropolitan!

Great experience! A representative returned my call immediately and set up an appointment for an estimate. Our estimate was reasonable and accurate, and provided to us in a timely manner. The work was very high quality and the workers were courteous and thorough.

We got half of them done and will have them back to do the other half.

I had several windows replaced by Metropolitan. Our old windows were fairly old vinyl windows, in bad need of replacement. We replaced the windows with Marvin Infinity fiberglass, with the infrared blocking glaze and inert gas. We also had marble sills replaced with wooden sills, returns, and trim. I am very happy with the work that the installation crew did. The corners in the trim work are very tight. The windows all work properly and are really, really nice. When the sign was out in front of the house, almost everyone who drove or walked by slowed down to look at the work. The house is much quieter, and the air conditioner runs less often. The guys who installed were very stand up. I would have no problems letting them in the house to work all day and not be home. They put down drop cloths everywhere they were walking, cleaned up all dust and debris, and were friendly. The only sign that they had been working in the house when they were done was new windows. This was actually the most expensive of the 3 quotes we had gotten for our windows, but the quality of the windows I feel is higher than the Pella extruded fiberglass, definitely better than vinyl, and much less maintenance compared to aluminum clad wood. My experience was very good, and I would not hesitate to recommend Metropolitan to others.

I decided to go ahead and schedule installation (14 windows), and the day we agreed on my installation team, Donald and Tyler, showed up on time, were very pleasant but professional, and went straight to work. I was amazed at how quickly they got each floor of my house done, and they were so clean that I didn't have to do any cleaning behind them. The exterior of our windows is absolutely beautiful. I didn't dream they could make those old window frames look so good! This was a very positive experience, and I've already recommended the company to relative and co-workers.

We couldn't be more pleased. Stopped at their showroom and saw several doors we liked. Maggie Schmotzer was very helpful and charming; she answered our questions, addressed our concerns, gave us a catalogue, and scheduled an appointment for Mike Schmotzer to come to our house. Mike arrived promptly on time. He was also very helpful and courteous; took his time answering our questions; showed us, on his laptop's screen, how the doors would look with the colors we picked; then wrote a quotation outlining the items we picked and everything that was to be done, down to the smallest detail. We signed the contract April 8, 2011. On May 3, 2011, the carpenter, Bob, who was recuperating from knee surgery, called saying he and his helper Dennis could do the job that Friday and that it would probably take an extra half day Saturday to complete it. We were delighted to have the work done so soon after ordering. Friday morning they arrived, set up their tools, worked continuously, were meticulous about covering everything and making sure everything was done correctly. They were both very polite and cheerful, and they worked well together, with Dennis doing most of the legwork and Bob not letting his new knee stand in the way of his work. Bob insisted that every little detail was to be taken care of, and they went out of their way to do a few extra things to make everything look good. They completed the job Saturday afternoon as promised and it looks beautiful!

Build time was quoted at 6 weeks, took more like 4. Installers Al, and his son Alex, arrived on time and did what was initially projected to be a 2 day job in about 7 hours. They were very pleasant and the installation went without a hitch. They took extra care to ensure the fit and finish were perfect. I don't think they even took a lunch break. Everything was cleaned up in a professional manner. The windows look great, and I can finally see outside of my house. WIll have to wait until the heat of summer/cold of winter to see if they are worth it.... All in all an excellent experience. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

The crew took special care to protect the carpet and furniture, disposed of the old doors and windows and cleaned up leaving us with a wondeful job.

I was impressed from the initial visit from the salesperson, to the measurement visit and the final installation. The installers were very very neat, very polite and very easy to have in the house. Metropolitan Window Company was excellent on all accounts. I don?t remember the price; it was expensive but it was worth the money I paid. Everything about them was excellent. We had a problem with one of the windows a couple of years later but they came out and fixed it. They took care of it for free, no questions asked. It wasn?t because of anything faulty they had done. The window had cranked out, it just came off. I would absolutely use them in the future.

I am am very happy with the results. I previously used them a year earlier for similar windows on the upper floor and also two high end entry doors. The company provides first rate service. All of there people, including the installers are excellent and they care a great deal about their craftsmanship. I would not hesitate to use them again or to refer anyone to them.

From start to finish the Metropolitan team preformed beyond my expectations! Mike (salesman) was very knowleagable and helpful. He was straight forward, honest and listened well. Like everyone at Metropolitan he paid attention to the details. We made a visit to the showroom and met the business owners John and Magge who were very friendly and down to earth. John took the time to review our project in complete detail and even made a few suggestions which were very good and helpful. Bob (installer) made an appointment with me to stop by and review the measurements as well as checking out jobsite details. He reviewed the project and answered all my questions. Bob and Dennis returned a few weeks later to begin the installation. I find it hard to put in to words the outstanding installation these two guys did on my project. They are perfectionist in every sense of the word. I'm pretty particular myself so I don't usually find installers who I would refer to as perfect. The fit and finish of all their work was excellent. Unlike most contractors, they welcomed my presents and patiently answered any and all my questions. They explained what they were doing, why and how it affected the total intallation. These two gentlmen are true craftsmen. They took the time to do it right. They cleaned up so well that you'd never know that they were here. At the end of the day, I recieved a call from their office asking me how the project went and if I was satisfied. The next day John the owner called to see if I liked the doors and how the installation went. Again, that top to bottom attention that makes them special. In summary, Metropolitan is the best. You may find lower pricing but don't be fooled by price alone. No one can compete with their professionalism, workmanship and attention to the details. They did everything right from start to finish, something you can't put a price on. I would highly recommend them and I plan to use them again in the near future. They are unquestionably the very best!
