Dealing with Metropolitan Window Co. was a very good experience from my initial inquiry call to the actual installation. Everyone was knowledgeable, professional, and personable; from the in-house sales call, follow-up measurement visit, installation, and post installation call. If you want a quality product and want to deal with professionals who care, I would highly recommend Metropolitan Window Co. A special thanks to the installer Al (Skip) who made a few suggestions during installation that shows in the final result.

The sales staff is excellent and the RT 51 showroom is a great place to view the windows although they will come to your house if you want.. Either way they will send a man for measurements and my windows arrived earlier than expected so I took someone's cancellation date for an earlier installation. This meant the work was done on the day before Thanksgiving and I had guests arriving during the process. The workman was very careful about the installation and the disruption to each room was as minimal as possible. When installing the window in my master bath he cracked the marble window sill. He immediately informed me and said he would install a new one. Within 1 hour, another person from the company dropped off the new sill that matched perfectly and the work was completed. The windows are fantastic This was the second time I used this company as I am replacing my windows in three phases due to budget. I only have two complaints. The installer was on his cell phone constantly with personal calls throughout the time here Yes, the work was done well, but it made uneasy that he wasn't concentrating on the task and I found it annoying. Also, when replacing my second story windows he threw the old material out in the back yard, but some landed on my rear porch roof where it still sits today. I thought he should have used his ladder to remove it. He also did not pick up several other pieces in the back yard and we had to clean it up. The installer I had the last time did a much better job of cleanup.

Their quote was higher than the others. They were very professional; they came on time and did everything we asked. They followed though and did everything we asked.

From the initial contact to schedule a consultation through the measuring and installing process -- Metropolitan Windows is a class act! Our salesman, Sean, was very knowledgable and, honestly, contributed greatly to our decision to give Metropolitan our business. He arrived on time and offered opinions on different options. We made a trip to their showroom, and Sean went above and beyond taking us to his parent's house to see what the windows looked like when installed -- GREAT JOB! The window installation was very smooth and clean. Al and Josh worked quickly and efficiently ..... and were so polite. Our scheduler, Jeff, had every aspect of our installation running smoothly, and "Miss Maggie" always had answers when we called! Infinity windows were pricier than other quotes that we had received, BUT we felt quality comes with a price and there was no comparison to these windows. Our entire experience was excellent. We HIGHLY recommend Metropolitan Window Company!

Did an excellent job. We are pleased with the results. The salesman was very helpful and gave us many options to choose from. That is one of the reasons we went with Metropolitan. The windows are great. The workers were very professional and did an excellent job. When done they cleaned everything up. One wouldn't know all that work was done. We love the windows. The price was comparable to some other estimates that we had, but the salesman made the deal.

This is our second time with Metropolitan. Their price may be higher than others, but the product is great as well as their service. Sean/Shawn (?) was the installer. In the process of installing the windows, he noticed that the bathroom window was white on the outside instead of bronze. He didn't just install it; he asked us if that's what we ordered. It wasn't. A new window was ordered and installed three weeks later. Great work on the part of the installer to do more than just install the windows! This is a great company. The old adage you get what you pay for applies here. You may find someone cheaper, but it won't be worth it in the long run.

I didn’t choose them but they were fine initially. They were the highest price among the companies I’ve looked at. It was a fine experience. They came and looked at what I needed to have done and gave me a quote. They were very professional. They do advertise locally so they probably have a larger advertising budget.

If I could give a rating higher than an A, I would. I set up several appts with window contractors from a Home & Garden Show then went home & did my homework on line about window quality / contractor quality (in fact, this is when I joined Angie's List). My home sales consultant was Justin. He was very knowledgeable, pleasant , patient & presented his windows with no pressure. I actually signed a contract that day & cancelled my other appts. I stopped by the Metropolitan office where I talked with Maggie, John & several of the staff & instantly felt the teamwork of this company. To me it is important to have a good company stand behind a good product. My installer was Al (Skip). He was exceptional! Efficient, professional, enjoyable, he did such a beautiful job. The windows themselves...the best, I couldn't be happier. They are higher end windows, you get what you pay for. The company followed through afterwards to make sure I was happy. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Although we could find windows for less, the quality of this product (and the storm door) is excellent. Metropolitan had and all of the installers had good communication in advance about when to expect them. They planned for a full day, and part of a second if needed. However, they brought a large crew and finished in one day. There is a slight flaw in the storm door that the screen doesn't stop as it should. We never would have noticed this until much later, but the installer pointed it out, and reported it to the company. We expect it to be completely repaired or replaced soon. Overall we are very pleased so far with the windows and with the installation. I would highly recommend Metropolitan to a friend!

We went specifically to their booth at the PGH Home Show. We have purchased many Marvin windows in the past and already knew this was the brand we wanted. Shawn spoke with us there. He is a very knowledgeable salesman and easy to work with. The windows arrived on schedule and installation went off without a hitch. The team that replaced our windows were knowledgeable, experienced, organized, tidy and friendly. At the end of the job, I did not even know they were there. It's very hard to find total professionalism from start to finish these days. We also had communication with the owners John and Maggie (which personalized our experience). Very nice people. I would not hesitate to use or recommend them again. In fact, we have scheduled them to replace the windows in our daughters house in the next few weeks. I'm sure that will be a positive experience as well. We have had extensive work (all with different contractors) done on our home in the last several years. They were very friendly, efficient, cleaned up after themselves and did the work in one day. There are finishing strips on the bottom of the window are coming up. I am going to call them to see if the can fix this. The windows have a life time guarantee.

We met a representative from Metropolitan at the 2013 Home Show. When we were ready for window estimates, I contacted the company and set our appointment for 3/28. Justin called on his way to our home and arrived on time. He was very personable (and great with our rambunctious dog). After discussing what we wanted with the window (grid lines, color, etc) Justin took our window measurements. The meeting altogether took about an hour. We had our estimate in hand before Justin left. The next day I recieved a call from Maggie, the owner, asking about our appointment. I let her know that Justin was a wonderful representative for the company. While we did not go with Metropolitan in the end, I would suggest them to anyone who is looking to have their windows replaced contact Metropolitan if their budget allows.

We had a great experience with this company. Justin came out to do the first consultation and tell us about the Marvin fiberglass windows. Although he was relatively new at the job, he did a great job and clearly knew his information. Gave us a quote for our top floor windows to replace our originals from about 1920. Their quote was not the highest of the 4 companies we talked to, but certainly was not the lowest. We eventually decided to go with them because we wanted a fiberglass window, and after talking to Justin and reading reviews here, felt that they were a very reliable company that would get the job done right. We decided at this time to only replace our three worst windows. Took about 4 weeks after setting up contract to install windows. Installation was quick and incredibly clean. We couldn't be happier with the service. We will definitely use them again to finish our top floor windows and, eventually, our whole house. Just wish we could've afforded to do them all at once!

Complete explanation of the options available as to window style, color, structure and insulating quality of the glass. Discouraged the installation of a bay or bow window where it would be inappropriate. The order will be placed at the closing. We are very satisfied.

I called several companies for prices, but in the end, it is not just about price. Even though Metropolitan was not the lowest, they were the best at follow-through. I had some delays after the windows were measured and the price quoted, but Maggie Schmotzer kept following up and if it was not for her diligence I may have gone with another vendor. The job was started and completed when promised, and the results were well worth the investment. I will be calling them again.

From the scheduled to the installer everyone was knowledgeable, professional and ready to work.

First appointment for estimate was made with ease and sales representative came on time. We got estimate and then had another appointment for detailed measurement. I have communicated with phone, e-mail and their responses were timely and very good. Explanation was quite clear. Their work was very meticulous and so efficient. It took two days for replacing whole windows. Their work was beutiful. Price was not cheap, but I am so satisfied with the windows in high quality.

I was treated well from the time I visited the showroom, through the in home consultation and as the doors were installed. The installation team was very professional; arrived on time and provided an overview of the work plan on 1st day. Made sure I understood operation of door stops and locks and completely cleaned all work areas. Installers are employees of Metropolitan windows Painter/stainer was a sub contractor and Metropolitan ensured that he contacted me as soon as the door installation was complete to schedule the staining . Also very professional service provided; explained do's and don'ts thoroughly. I am very satisfied with the look and operation of the Marvin doors and very happy with the professional of the entire Metropolitan Window team.

Overall we are very pleased with the windows themselves, and with Metropolitan as a service provider. They were very prompt and professional during the initial visit and quote (Sean came out on a Saturday, after I called him the day before for the first time to inquire). Their price level was good - very comparable to wood clad windows (which i consider inferior to fiberglass for long term wear), and lower than Anderson Renewal. There was a bit of a lag between when we committed to the order and when the job was scheduled and performed (a couple weeks longer than I expected). The installation was very well done - very neat and clean, high level of attention to details, done quickly in the time promised. The staining was a little more difficult to schedule (Metropolitan had made arrangements with the stainer directly, who contacted us). The staining was done very professionally by Eric (excellent work - it looks like the wood came that way). However, even though we provided a piece of our moulding for color match, the color is not quite right (almost a dark cherry instead of dark walnut). We are not going to make a fuss about it because it isn't a bad match - but you can tell it's not the same. One small problem we had that Metropolitan corrected promptly - the screens we ordered were supposed to have the stainable finish on the inside, but the ones that came with the windows were the standard metal frames. Once they were advised of the error, they took care of ordering new screens, and had them stained at their shop and delivered to us, so we wouldn't have to be inconvenienced with it.

2 workers showed up when scheduled. The first day they did the two brand new windows.One inside and one outside. By 4pm the installs were 100% completed. Day two they did the 3 existing windows. Again one inside and one outside. By 4pm they were again 100% completed. Very clean installation. No sign they were ever there for 2 days installing windows. The only thing left to do is paint the trim. There is not even a need to paint around the new windows. The outside matches the existing windows perfectly. This the easiest project we have ever had done. There always is something that goes wrong. This time everything worked to profection.

I selected the Metropolitan Window Company because I was interested in fiber glass windows and they have such a good rating on Angies List. The salesman, Guy, explained the trade offs between fiber glass and vinyl (Metropolitan sells both) and I decided on fiber glass for the two windows. I liked that he explained everything that would happen and a rough time frame (about 4 weeks.)The installation work was done very professionally. The installer arrived on time, completed the installation when he said he would, and left the work area cleaner than how he found it. The windows work beautifully. A few days after the installation the owner called to see how things went and if I was satisfied. That was a great finishing touch!

I feel for me, the estimate of $10,580 was a bit high for installing 3-sliding patio doors so I will be getting more estimates.

From our initial contact with Metropolitan Windows when we were first vetting contractors to our last contact after having four fiberglass double-hung windows installed, our experience was superb. We visited their showroom where Sean was extremely helpful - he took as much time as we needed to have our questions answered. While there, we met owner Maggie, who just happened to be passing through yet took time to meet us and chat for a few minutes. When Sean visited our home to take measurements and provide an estimate, he continued to answer our questions and didn't get upset when we asked about having special language to protect us regarding payments to subcontractors. Once we decided to buy from Metropolitan, Sean adjusted the contract language just as he had promised. The work was performed by two subcontractors who did excellent work, were careful to protect our home, and cleaned up when they were done - all this while being friendly and courteous:(1) Our installer was Donald - and we can't say enough good things about him. All of the interior framework around the windows was relatively new from remodeling, and he took time to be as careful as possible to not damage it. After some minimal touch-ups by me, the painted woodwork on three of the windows looks as good as it did before the windows were switched out. (2) The fourth window has an Everwood interior that needed to be stained to match the kitchen woodwork; Eric came a few days later to finish the staining. Even though we knew the brand and color of stain that had been used on the frame and sill, Eric's test sample didn't match the existing woodwork. To his credit, he said he would not stain the window until we were happy with the match, so he left to have his supplier custom mix stain that turned out to be a PERFECT match. We purchased high transparency full screens that are much nicer than our old half screens. Apparently they are so hard to see that the birds are missing them - we've had more birds fly into our windows since they were installed than we've had for the 23+ years that we've been in the house! Our windows look great from both the inside and outside, they work very smoothly, and they have reduced the level of outdoor noises that we can hear inside our home. Bottom line is that we're very pleased with the entire experience and wouldn't hesitate to return to Metropolitan in the future.
