Description of Work: The salesman gave me one estimate on 10 windows. It is a family-owned business and all installers are directly employed by Metropolitan, not sub-contractors. Salesman was well-informed and responsive. Product excellent. I did not use because a friend offered to install the windows from another manufacturer at cost.

Description of Work: Installed 7 windows. |Company rep came to my home to measure windows and quote a price. When we chose Metropolitan Windows, in June 2013, John Schmotzer, the president of Metropolitan Windows, came to our home to verify window measurements and thank us for choosing his commpany. Windows were installed in August 2013. Installer was prompt, courteous and very professional. Installed all 7 windows on 27 August 2013. Very satisfied and would recommend this company to my family and friends.

+ -1 moreBob is a great guy and very meticulous about his work which turned out beautifully. His helper cleaned up the mess beautifully. I thought it was wonderful how he did the extra work without asking and without charge.
Description of Work: Bob removed and discarded my old wooden door; he saved the wooden molding for later use. He insulated the door jamb and installed a brand new, beautiful steel door, caulked around the edges, and re-applied the wooden molding. In addition, he repaired my older storm door: fixing the catch, replacing the plunger, and applying new skirting, all without charge.

+ -1 morePete was a little early. But he got right to work; he even moved shelves and furniture out of the way, uncomplainingly. The work was finished without delay, neatly and without appreciable disruption. They look beautiful. I did find dust in my tub sink which I wish I knew beforehand that it was there because it almost clogged my drain.
Description of Work: Removed three old cellar windows and replaced them with glass block windows. The windows were finished off with caulking.

+ -1 moreWe've been dealing with them for about 15 yrs, and any problems are fixed right away. It's all included. They had to order a part for us once, and John called us to let us know it would be late by about 2 weeks or so. When it finally came in, they had it installed (at 5:30 pm, since I'm only here after 4), and John called to make sure we were satisfied. A week later, we got a check in the mail with instructions to go out to eat on the company since we had to wait on the part. It said, "Here's dinner on us."
Description of Work: We've had them do windows and doors, and the last work was 2 double-hung windows with marble seals and new wood in the kitchen. They recommended a lumber company so we could choose our trim. It warped a little while we were waiting for the windows to arrive, and he said, "I'll straighten that right out." They happened to be on vacation the last time we were shopping for a door, so we got another quote. The other quote was the same exact price, and we needed another door quickly. Now, we wish we'd just gone with Metropolitan.

+ 0 moreThe finished work is beautiful! And neatly done. The installer was on time and pleasant. He cleaned most of the mess up. He even left a extra piece of wood for the window a/c. I felt the windows were on the expensive end, but with the company's reputation and service, I think a they're worth it.
Description of Work: Installed new windows, added nice wooden trim, fixed broken sliding glass door at no extra charge.

THEY WERE HERE FOR 4 DAYS WHICH THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE AND THEY WERE ON TIME EACH DAY AND LEFT MY HOUSE NEET AND CLEAN. EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THEIR WORK AND WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. THE DOOR WAS INSTALLED IN FOUR HOURS THEY WERE NEET AND CLEAN. THEY REMOVED ALL TRASH.

+ -1 moreAFTER GOING THROUGH A FEW WINDOW CONTRACTORS FOR ESTIMATES, I WAS IMPRESSED BY METROPOLITAN EMPLOYEES. FOR ONCE I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE I WAS BEING TALKED TO BY A USED CAR SALESMAN. THE NEW WINDOW IS BEAUTIFUL. WHEN I GET THE MONEY TO REPLACE MORE WINDOWS IN MY HOUSE, I WILL DEFINITELY USE METROPOLITAN.
Description of Work: I HAD A WINDOW IN MY FUTURE KITCHEN THAT WAS SO TALL, THE BOTTOM OF IT WAS BELOW THE LEVEL WHERE THE COUNTERTOP WOULD BE. THEY REMOVED THE OLD WINDOW, BUILT UP THE FRAME TO MAKE THE BOTTOM LEVEL WITH THE OTHER WINDOW IN THE ROOM, AND INSTALLED A NEW WINDOW. THEN THEY FRAMED, INSULATED, & DRYWALLED THE SPACE BELOW THE NEW WINDOW.
