About us

Metro Heating & Cooling is a family owned and operated company. We have been serving the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas since 1957, when William “W.C.” Wessner Sr founded the company. We are now on our 3rd generation. The company has maintained key staff, and thanks to our installers and service technicians, some of whom have been with us for over 20 years, keeping the quality and reputation of our work and company intact. We have been a top provider on Angie’s List since 2005 and one of the top Carrier dealers in the Pittsburgh area. The Wessner’s are active in Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) and they have all served as president of that group.

Description of Work: I called for advise and a possible air conditioning solution to my old house problem. Metro set the appointment and quickly visited me and gave me every possible solution to my problem. Metro was totally professional, knowledgeable,and honest about the possibly of success. While there was no good solution to my problem, I am very convinced that I will call them when I replace my furnace. Thanks guys!!

Description of Work: Replaced and installed new Carrier high efficiency AC system/whole house dehumidifier, UV lamp, electronic air cleaner. This is the second system they have provided for me. Their installation and service are top notch. The system was so discretely designed that it is almost invisible and the new system is completely silent. Absolutely number one in all respects. Very knowledgeable, competent and accommodating staff.

Description of Work: There was water all over the floor under my furnace. The service tech checked the condition of the PVC drain for the A/C. It was clogged, so he replaced it. He also opened up the coil to check the coil pan. It was completely rotted resulting in water leakage on the top of the furnace. He advised that the whole system should be replaced. It is 20 years old. The service tech was thorough and very profession in evaluating the issues with my furnace and in making his recommendations.
