Contacted Metro and they were very responsive and came out for the inspection and sales call promptly. They were straight with us regarding our furnace and AC and we decided to go with just the furnace. Work was done a few weeks later. Very professional workers, installation was meticulous. The new furnace is working great.

They did a good job of explaining options and the pros and cons of each. They recommended a smaller unit than the one being replaced, saying that it had been over-sized by the company which sold it to us 20 years earlier. They had some negotiating flexibility, and installed everything on schedule (actually finished in less time than estimated).

They replied promptly, tried to help us fix it over phone to save us the cost; when we couldn't a service man came out within a half hour. He was polite, very neat and respectful and explained everything to us. He reviewed the costs before completing any work.

They did the job in one day but there was a problem with some radiators in my kitchen that they neglected to take care of so they had to come back. Overall they did a good job.

I was out of heat and needed the furnace to be fixed. I had to pay for an emergency call because it was after 4 p.m. when they arrived. The company responded to my call, but the technician was not very friendly or talkative. He did not explain what was being done unless I probed him with questions. Of course it was late in the day and he may have just been tried. He assessed the problem and did the work quickly and efficiently.

I had been given a range of time that they would arrive from 1 to 3pm. Two technicians appeared around 1 pm. They serviced the furnace and also cleaned up any disposable items; such as the water filter panel from my humidifier. They also disposed of an old blower motor that had been left behind by my previous furnace company. I switched furnace companies this year because for years the company I had used was more expensive than a lot of other companies. I am happy with the service and the price of Metro Heating and Cooling.

Great. The tech came right when they said they would and explained everything to me.

I would rate this supplier as average. I had higher expectations going in based on most of the reports on Angie's List. I will give this caveat: It was the first of the colder weather we've had here and they were probably very busy. They came out to my house to diagnose, and hopefully fix the problem, on a Friday. They were two hours late and I ended up having to take a half-day off of work. They spent 1.5 hours finding the problem and then told me they would have to order the part. They had me sign off on an estimate of the part at $218. They said that they would call when the part came in. A week later, I had not heard from them and the low was supposed to be 38 degrees. I called and they said they would check on it. About 15 minutes later, I got a call saying that they had the part and would be able to come to my house at 3 PM. Again, I had to leave work-- but better than having no heat, I figured. After the installation, the technician told me that the part had actually been more than he originally thought and it would now cost $285 plus the $77 diagnostic fee-- so the total jumped up to $360 or so. I didn't appreciate the on-the-spot increase in price, but what can you do? I would say that they are fair company. They've been around a while and get good ratings on Angie's List. However, when they quote a part price, they should stick to it regardless of the reason as to why they got the estimate wrong. Also, it would have been better if they would have called me when they got the part in as opposed to the other way around.

Called and left a message. Contractor returned the call promptly.

I was impressed with the quoting process and the professionalism of the principle. I asked for the best solution and requested that they quote me the best solution. I also requested that the third floor unit be placed in the attic. We were not living in the house at the time so we did not need them to be punctual or particularly careful and clean. Although we requested that the third floor unit to be placed in the attic the crew put it in a closet on our third floor. Obviously we were pissed. However when I brought the issue up to the principle he met me at the house first thing in the morning, explained the thought process behind why they put the unit in the closet. I told him that it was unacceptable and that I would try another vendor before I accepted the unit in the closet. He told me he understood and would take care of it...and did. By the next day the unit was in the attic. The units are running fine and everything seems to be working well.

They were very good. They were responsive and punctual. They came out when they said and showed up when I scheduled them. It was a very easy experience. The job was a difficult one and they went above and beyond. Overall I was very pleased with them.

I collected four bids for this job and Metro was among the lowest, and the most professional. They advised me on what duct routing I should include with the project, and were willing to accept my final decisions on it. They did the work over two or three days, the sheet metal work looked great, and the cleanup was good.

We were very satisfied with this company. They were pretty easy to work with, and they gave us a competitive price. They were responsive. My husband thought the workers worked very hard and were very professional. There was one problem about where the vent was installed, but they easily fixed it when my husband talked to them about it.

I called the company to schedule an appointment for furnace/Ac check. A service person arrived 2 days later, on time. Everything was in good working order, but suggested that my dehumidifier needed a new filter. The filter will be delivered to me when it is available, and I was told how to install the filter myself so that another service call would not be necessary.

Most companies over charge on their quote, leaving themselves room to negotiate or add 'extras'. Tom, the owner of Metro, is a totally straight-forward honest guy, he quotes what the job is worth, so if you want to add on anything else it may cost you. Definitely the fairest way to do business. Tom is a total professional, he's active in their trade association, involved with educating HVAC workers. The installation crew was young but experienced, knowledgeable, and hard working. Real nice guys. They did a great job. They accommodated my request to do the job over a two day period so that I could replace the floor and paint the furnace room. The work was done very carefully and neatly, straight runs, neat corners, even spacing. When he was near completion the main installer sort of stepped back and said, "man, I like it when a job looks good!" That's called having pride in your work. I'd recommend them without hesitation.

I have them come out twice a year, one time for my air conditioning unit and another for the heating unit. They are very thorough and very good. I had a break down of my cooling unit one time and they came right out and fixed it for me.

Good experience from beginning to end. Called over the weekend to make an appointment. Rep called me back on Monday and made an appointment for Wednesday 08/06. Tech was 20 minutes late for an 8:00 am appointment, but could not have been nicer, very professional too. Explained everything he did, as well as, some detail about both my A/C and furnace brands/history. This has nothing to do with the service, but my dog got excited when the technician arrived and had a little accident. I got paper towels and the tech said, "Here, I will clean it up, she just got excited". Is this a nice guy, or what? Unfortunately, I can't remember his name and I can't read his signature on the invoice - but a very nice person.

My experience with this company was excellent. They were prompt. They explained everything carefully. They performed what they said they would perform and everything is working fine.

They were able to come out the day after I called. They were friendly, arrived on time and addressed the problem quickly.

The air conditioning unit was installed in a 3rd floor closet and the ductwork went to the first floor through the closets. At first, we didn't think it was possible to route vents to the first floor because of the direction of the joists. Bill Wessner and his crew figured out a way to route vent registers to all three floors. The air conditioning unit is a high efficient unit and it's been doing a good job cooling the house this summer. We also got a $900 rebate from Carrier.

They were very prompt with contacting me and scheduling the estimate. Overall very good. I just found a better price through a friend of the family.

They came on time. They did a great job. There was a small glitch that hasn't been resolved. I called the company, and I spoke to a lady about getting 10% off because of a coupon I had. She said that was okay. The company charged us the normal amount although they knew about the coupon. They later said they would send us a refund check, but that never happened.

It was great. They showed up on time and prompt about returning my calls and setting up the appointment. The workers were very efficient. I have recommended them to others.
