A heat wave had begun but Metro gave me an appointment time rather quickly. The repair person arrived on time, explained the work that was needed, and suggested that replacing a delay switch was unnecessary. A very good experience! I will be happy to call them again when other work is needed.

Heath from Metro Heating and Cooling showed up promptly as scheduled and started right away. Heath was nice enough to explain to my husband the steps he was taking and why (thanks Heath!). Heath did let us know that his company typically doesn't come out this far (Beaver County) but since we had used Angie's List to contact them they came out anyhow. He then was nice enough to recommend a company in our area that would be able to perform any future work as needed. Heath was very friendly and professional. He also was great with our dogs, which is a huge plus! He even gave our puppies biscuits! Super nice person and great service. Thanks Heath, and thank you Angie's List!

All went very well. They were so busy it took a couple of calls to verify appt. times, but It all was fine! The serviceperson was very nice and efficient. (Heath) I will use them again and would recommend them.

Metro was extremely punctual. I called them on a Sunday during Memorial Weekend and they were at my house within 45 minutes. I could have waited until Tuesday/Wednesday and paid a lower rate. Their OT rate wasn't what I would call cheap, but it was reasonable considering the situation.

I called on May 18, 2011 and was told that they would come out and check our A/C on May 19, 2011. Couple minutes later, they called back and told me that it was not possible anymore and needed to be rescheduled so we scheduled for May 26, 2011. at 2:30 pm. On the day it was scheduled, they called 4 hours before the schedule time and left the message on my voicemail that they had other priorities, won't be able to make it. Just like that. No apology or rescheduling attempt was offerred. I called back to find out what was going on. The lady said if I would like to schedule again, she has no available schedule until June 7, 2011. I'm afraid that on that day, there will be other higher priority to bump me out of the schedule again, so I decided to try someone else.

We thought it was a little high. The service was fine.

I woke up one morning to a unusually chilly house and smelled a bit of gas. I went into panic mode and called the gas company, they came out and told me the hot surface igniter in our furnace cracked. I immediately hit Angie's list and found Metro. They couldn't come out till the next day but it wasn't the dead of winter and it was late in the day, so that was fine with me. Next day I went to work but my husband stayed home for the repair. They did come late but they explained they got caught up on a very complicated job, and being the flexible people we are, we were still fine with that. They came and fixed the problem in about 20-30 minutes and for the price we were very pleased. They took the time to explain why our igniter cracked and what we need to do to make sure it doesn't happen again. As still relatively new homeowners, I truly appreciate that knowledge. I would highly recommend Metro heating and cooling to any one and I plan on using them again.

They were excellent. Provided a variety of options to replace our existing unit using same air ducts. Company was very responsive and fast. No problem

When I called Metro, the receptionist took down my information and stated that she could probably have someone out within an hour. Rich called to confirm that he was on the way, and was at my home within the hour, as predicted by the receptionist. He was friendly and professional. Not only did he diagnose and promptly solve the problem, he took the time to show me exactly what to do in case I should encounter this problem again. I am typically a DIY person and have friends who are handy as well, so I was not sure what to expect from a company unknown to me. The biggest fear was the price, however I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the cost had been. My experience with Metro was a positive one and I will definitely recommend them to friends and family!

The scheduling was easy - someone answered the phone the first try and we easily found a mutually convenient time and day. He arrived during the time period specified and called 10 minutes before arrival, which I requested. There were no calls earlier in the day to confirm or move up my time, something I find annoying when others have done that. I appreciate he made everything simple and reliable. He brought his own flashlight, which oddly enough is often not the case with workers. He gave me very complete and understandable descriptions of the strong and weak points of my furnace system and was reassuring about its quality. He was down to earth and did not rush me when I had questions. I would be happy to deal with him again.

I used Angie's list to find a HVAC company. Metro had a repairman on site within three hours. Problem solved. Repairman was excellent. It is a genuine pleasure to find a company that functions as advertised. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

I woke up this morning and noticed that it was considerably colder than usual and it appeared that the furnace was no longer firing. I called Metro and there was a receptionist that took my call immediately. I called around 10am and she indicated that someone could arrive between 12-2pm. Around 12:30pm, the technician, Miguel, arrived. He was very factual and immediately went to work. I explained to him that this was my first furnace that I've had to maintain since this is my first house and he explained the whole system to me while performing his diagnosis and replacing the thermocouple, which he determined to be the problem. After giving me a quick lesson on regular maintenance of the system and checking the other components, he turned on the heater. It worked immediately. I then had some questions about a few valves that were leaking and he took at look at them and tried tightening one of the nuts to minimize the leak. He said that I could set something up with his office and it would be about $100/valve to replace them. Overall, Miguel was very cordial, confident and respectful. I did not feel judged for my lack of knowledge with my furnace and he thoroughly explained how the system worked, what things were normal and basic maintenance techniques. I would definitely call Metro Heating and Cooling again for emergency or upgrade services.

I called this place on a weekend because my furnace stopped pushing hot air. I got their emergency service, but decided not to pay the extra fee. They came on Monday and fixed the issue. Was the igniter. Guy was pretty nice. Recommended that we get the furnace replaced in the near future. Really, the main reason I chose this place was because of their ridiculous signs along Banksville road. Sometimes they are cheesy but other times they are hilariously non-sequitur.

I paid for the Big Deal package and got the 15 point check. Their some misunderstanding with angie's list's big deal promotion, but Metro honored the deal

They seemed to do a good job. They are highly rated and I didn?t see anything to take away from that. They were fine for price, but we really didn?t shop around.

It went very well. We were pretty ignorant about what needed to be done to maintain a boiler heating system. The technician was very professional and took the time to clearly explain what needed to be done on a regular basis.

Initially, there were a few glitches with the appointment times...they didn't show the first time, were late the second time. Once they showed up, it was all good. I wasn't present but it looked like they did everything that was on their checklist. They provided a comprehensive report when they were done.

The repairmen who have visited have been punctual, polite and helpful. Unfortunately, we now feel that we have been treated very unfairly by the owner. The repairman at our last visit admitted it was very unlikely that both motors would go around the same time, and that it's possible the wrong motor had been replaced the first time. In asking around to other HVAC professionals, we have gotten the same opinion. The owner, however, told us that the furnace is 10 years old, he's certain both motors simply went bad at the same time and there's nothing further he can do to help us. We now believe that we may have replaced the wrong motor initially, and now have a lesser, generic motor in place of our old Bryant motor that may not have needed to be replaced, and now a combustion motor that could go bad at any time and leave us with no heat. There was no willingness to acknowledge that an error could have possibly occurred the first time or even any offer to negotiate a reduced price for repeat business on the second motor. Very disappointed after an initial positive experience with this service provider.

The technician who came was extremely polite and got right to work checking out our gas leak. After verifying the leak (found by the utility company) he suggested a repair that was much cheaper than replacing the valve outright. He also took a quick look at our plumbing and explained why we weren’t able to build up pressure and how to remedy it with the manual water valve attached to our heating system. Since we had asked for a boiler check & clean from the start, he rolled the repair into the charge for the check. Before leaving the technician suggested a few ways to maintain our system on our own, cleaned up his work area and was on his way. I was very pleased with his professionalism and the straightforward way he explained his work.

Called a day or two after purchasing "The Big Deal" and was able to schedule an appointment for the day before Thanksgiving, which I appreciated since my husband and I were home from work that day. Miguel showed up about 20 minutes past the scheduled time of 8:30 a.m., but since we weren't on a tight schedule it wasn't a problem. There were a few reasons we scheduled the inspection: first, it was a great deal on Angie's List with a highly reviewed company; second, we want to install central air and had some questions; and finally, we wanted a "tune-up" since last winter (our first in this house), our energy bills were ridiculously expensive even though we use a programmable thermostat and kept the heat around 67/68 degrees (and froze). Once he checked out the furnace, Miguel informed us of a few important issues, namely that our furnace was actually too powerful for our narrow ductwork--the furnace is actually "choking" because our ducts are too narrow, and the air has limited space to travel. He even showed us that one duct actually goes nowhere, which we didn't know! (Somewhat surprisingly, the air duct cleaners we used last year didn't indicate there was a random, unattached duct--wouldn't they have noticed that?) Miguel spent a little over an hour at our home and made some minor adjustments to the furnace and to the settings on our programmable thermostat, and already we can't believe the difference in the amount of heat coming out of the registers (at the same temperatures we had before). He recommended that we think about installing new ductwork in the basement, especially if we want to install central air, but he didn't pressure us in the least (it's a pretty expensive improvement, but probably worth it!). He explained things clearly, didn't rush through the inspection, and was incredibly knowledgeable. If (or when) we contact Metro for future work, we will likely request Miguel since we were so impressed with him! I am so glad our first experience with "The Big Deal" was so positive.

The repairman showed up on time, was extremely polite, and headed directly to work. He was more than happy to answer my questions and to walk me through what he was doing. When I was curious about the age of my furnace and various aspects of how it worked, he explained everything without complex jargon. Their prices were extremely competitive and the service is fast and effective. I had a great experience with Metro Heating & Cooling, and I would definitely recommend their services.

We were very satisfied with the servicing provided on our old furnace. That service, pricing from other companies and Angie's List recommendations led us to choose Metro for our new equipment. Their pricing is extremely competitive. They offer Carrier furnaces and air conditioners. We had our old Carriers for 21 yrs. Tom and Bob arrived promptly, got right to work,,, and did an excellent installation job and explanation of the new thermostat. Cleanup was good too! Jennifer, in the office, was patient with our questions. Very reputable, professional company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (They did not know we use Angie's List till now!)

Metro is extremely responsive, and was able to get us an appointment for a basic service on the specific day I requested. The technician was running early, so the office called to verify it would be OK if he arrived earlier than his scheduled time. He completed all of the work, explained the necessary repairs, finished his work, and was on his way. A very easy company to work with and the tech was great too.

I never heard from him again, no call and no show. I never even got email contact from him stating what happened. I will never call there again.

We own a historic home built in 1938 and had no air conditioning. Our heat is boiler/radiator so we had no duct work to connect to. Metro specializes in old homes with no duct work and they did an amazing job. On the first day, two teams of guys came, one to install the outdoor unit and one to install the unit in the attic and the vents in our ceilings. They were fast, efficient, knowledgeable, professional, clean (considering the amount of coal dust they ran into in the attic!) and very friendly. They took extra time to run lines behind the walls and under the floor in the attic, thereby using much less space than originally anticipated and giving a much neater appearance. They were also very careful with our plaster ceilings. Our lead installer was really great. Best of all, they recommended a terrific 2-stage system that cost a little more but that is incredibly energy efficient. We were dreading our first electric bill but we were pleasantly surprised! Call Tom, have him come out, and then hire them - you won't be sorry.
