I have a 1940s house in Penn Hills. The basement shower began to fill with the washing machine drain water, and the toilet backed up. I was afraid that I had a breech in the drainage pipe out to the street because I couldn't clear the clog with a rented auger. Earl was able to come out the next day with snake and video, and determined there was about 20 feet of clog in the old terra cotta pipes under the basement floor. First step was to hydro-jet clear it from the outside of the house through the clog. Chris and crew came out the next day and were able to clear it. They were also able to see with video that the terra cotta pipes are poorly aligned, with peaks and valleys which will clog again. The pipes will need to be replaced eventually, but this gives us time to work that into the budget in the future. Matt Mertz Plumbing was prompt, reasonably priced, honest and fast. I am very appreciative!

Can't recommend Matt Mertz enough. I called about a leaking toilet and they were able to send someone same day. The plumber (Larry) was on time and fixed it in no time. He explained why it was leaking (bad seal on the wax ring by installer) and added another seal. Cleaned everything up perfectly and that was it. I would definitely call Matt Mertz again.

I called matt Mertz Plumbing on Monday morning to have a 40 gallon gas water heater Installed. Mark from matt Mertz Plumbing was there the next day with a new tank,installed a new expansion tank, and also said i needed a regulator because my incoming psi was 120 the regulator brought it down to 60. Thank for saving my pipes and fast turn around! matt Mertz Plumbing for all my needs.

went quite well. Evaluated and priced the day we called, and replacement done the next day. Can't beat that for responsiveness. replaced with 50 gallon Bradford White heater. All done by one man. those compression fittings sure work better than the old solder fittings. Much faster. about a 2-3 hr project. clean - up was thorough. took away the old heater. No mess no fuss. Will definitely go to Matt Mertz for other plumbing jobs.

This is the second time I have used Matt Mertz Plumbing, and for the second time they were outstanding. Called at 2:30PM on Wednesday and had a new water heater installed by 1:30PM Thursday. Customer service is exceptional and their employees are extremely professional. Price as advertised- $670 installed including removal of old tank. I highly recommend Matt Mertz Plumbing!

They said they did not service my area. If that’s the case then don’t say on your website All of Allegheny County and surrounding areas. I live about a half hour from the north hills. If that’s to far away then put on your website the areas you service!

We unexpectedly had our water service line just stop working, which left our family without water. Matt Mertz Plumbing had someone out to have a look the day I called. Even though their scheduled service was several weeks out, they started the job the next day because we had a little kid and understood that we really needed water. The crew was very professional, yet friendly. They called ahead each day before they came. They did their best to leave everything looking as good as they could after needing to dig up my yard, replacing the shrubs and plants they had to dig up, and doing a nice job replacing the sidewalk block they had to replace. I’d definitely recommend them to others and call again if I had plumbing issues.

Excellent. To start, they had promised to come to us sometime on a Saturday, but on Friday morning they called to say that they had an opening, and could come right away if that fit our needs. It worked out fine--their person came and did the job. After the obvious repair was made, testing the system showed that there was another, smaller crack in an "ell" joint. He replaced this, and then installed a valve at the lowest point in the line, so that in the future we can thoroughly drain this pipe during the winter when the exterior faucet is taken out of service.

Experience with Matt Mertz Plumbing I don't want anyone to have to deal with this experience in their own homes. So i wanted to post this in hopes that I can warn you. We used Matt Mertz to install a French drain in our yard. I can not even begin to list the damage they have done to our home and property as a result of their work. I have owned 3 homes and have built all 3. I have never dealt with such disrespectful, unprofessional and obstinate contractors in 23 years.

Good! The only problem was he didn't tightened the toilet properly but he came back and tightened it up and everything is fine.
