I needed the drain unclogged in my basement. The service went very well. It took approximately 30 minutes. Many thanks to Earl who did a very good job in unclogging the drain. He arrived within the time period that he stated. He was professional and courteous. I didn't get a receipt because I gave the office my landline number and the receipt was sent to that number. May I suggest that the office ask its customers for their email address or how they would like to receive the receipt. The cost was $164 which included the 5% discount which I thought was a little pricey; however, I would still use Matt Mettz services again.

this out fit would call me every morning upon arrival and work ardently all day. they are very conscientious of their workmanship, keeping areas clean and covered, and prompting me of the progress made day to day and what was coming the next day. though their estimates were slightly higher than every other plumber estimates it was the right choice. Excellen job and would refer them to anyone. Thank you Matt Murtz for a great job.

SIMPLY AWESOME!!! I called MMP around 8 am and spoke to Cindy. She had me take some pictures of my water heater to email over to them. Within 45 minutes I spoke to Diane, she gave me the price and said she could have someone out to my house by early afternoon the same day. Diane called me back at roughly 11:30 am to let me know a crew had finished a bigger job early and could be at my house in 45 minutes (they got here in 30!). Jim and Joe were AWESOME! We went over the issues and they answered ALL of our questions and then some. Within an hour and a half they had the old water tank out and the new one installed along with a pressure regulator. Their work was EXCELLENT and the price was good! They will be my go to for any future plumbing needs. I asked MMP to get me a quote for a new furnace and AC unit, I will be sure to edit the review and let everyone know how that goes.

They replaced the water heater. 10/10

Brian Tarr at Matt Mertz Plumbing did an excellent job installing our new Dishwasher, and he also replaced the filters in our Reverse Osmosis Filtration system. In the past, Brian has repaired several pin hole leaks in our copper pipes. Since we have West View Water, Brian recommended that we purchase a Whole House Filter System, and he installed it for us in 2018. Since then, we have had minimal issues with pin hole leaks. We had many different plumbers come to the house and repair pin hole leaks, but Brian was the only one to recommend the Whole House Filter system.

We hired Matt Mertz plumbing to repair extensive sewer problems and spent nearly $15,000 in two separate jobs when the company had just started. The customer service was excellent and the work performed well. HOWEVER, we more recently had Mertz Plumbing install a faucet. It subsequently leaked; they came out and repaired it with a service charge. It is leaking again now; Mertz Plumbing is referring me to the manufacturer for a replacement (reasonable request) and then said they'd come out and install it. I am assuming this will be another expensive service charge. I don't expect the company to do work without being paid. The problem is I am being put off and still have a leaky faucet they installed and fixed once, but still is still leaking. Where is loyalty to customers? Very disappointed in the lack of customer-friendly response.

They replaced our water heater, and I was so pleased with the job that they did, I hired them to return and replace our laundry room sink. Also, I intend to have them return one more time to replace the laundry room drain. They were neat, prompt, and did a good job.

As expected. Is our regular plumber.

The project went extremely well. Everything was explained to us before work was done, including the estimated cost and the timeline. The men were very courteous and professional. Everything went exactly the way they said it would go. The work was done quickly and we were able to use the water except for 2-3 hours on the second second day of this 2 day project.

Matt Mertz Plumbing removed an old gravel dry well in my yard, installed a new plastic dry well, redirected underground pipes, installed new gutter downspouts, and repaired a section of nearby concrete in the driveway. The company was available to begin the work within days. Two plumbers arrived at my house on time, and they were extremely polite, knowledgeable, and skilled. I feel very happy with the quality of the dry well.

The problem was fixed and an additional problem was also taken care of. I thought the price was reasonable and the plumber arrived sooner than expected since this was an emergency situation.

The anti scald was malfunctioning and we couldn't get hot water. Everything was excellent. Right on time to the minute, put covers on his shoes, friendly, he was done and gone in < 30 minutes. They were a bit high on the price, $150/ hour, but I know it's getting harder to find competent workers in the trades(plumbing, mechanics, carpenters, etc) so the wages go up and we all pay more so not a big deal. I will definitely call them next time and I recommend them.

I contacted Matt Mertz Plumbing to be provided with a quote to replace our water heater. They promptly called me and provided a quote over the phone. When I asked the lady who provided the quote if they would be coming out in-person she said no. However, a couple of days later, they contacted me again to say that they were going to come out to my home and provide a quote. I welcomed the in-person quote so we set up a date and timeframe. On the day they were to come to my home, they never showed up and they never called. I did send them another message via Angie's List messaging system since that's how we had been communicating but they never responded. This review represents the interaction I had with them in regards to them scheduling an in-person quote but never showing up and never even calling.

Very well, better than expected! Very polite and answered all my questions. Put on shoe covers when entering house. Also explained in detail problem and solution. Said I would have no more problems and I haven't had any!

Plumber was available the day after I called, arrived on time and completed work.

Matt Mertz Plumbing came out again to clear a clog in my indoor sewer line. I rated them an "A" back in February for the same. They were all prompt, professional and pleasant. Earl again was unable to snake the line clear, and Chris came out to hydrojet the line on a different day, as before, which got most of the line cleared (with the exception of the branch to the furnace room drain). Again, they recommended sewer line replacement, which would require jackhammering the garage and basement cement flooring, up to two weeks of work, and $16,000. Prior to such an expenditure, I requested a second opinion from a different plumbing company. They came out, finished clearing the furnace branch line, ran a camera through the system from two different insertion points, gave me a DVD copy of the video so that I could see what they saw, determined that the 1940s terra cotta pipes were in functional and average condition for their age and this area, and recommended to not proceed with replacement at this time. They charged me $250. I am not stating that Matt Mertz Plumbing was less than forthright, or that the pipes may not need replacing at some point, however the other company's transparent and thorough work demonstrate the importance of second opinions and healthy competition among service providers.

No leaks found. Water coming into garage through cement floor. Very slow pooling of water. No damage. Plumber said could be hydrostatic pressure leak. Paid $89 for service call. I would use them again.

Matt Mertz Plumbing is my go-to. We have an old house. They have been in business for a long time. You will find more expensive plumbing companies out there who do not have their expertise. I have tried a few of their competitors over the years. We needed a few things to be done. I scheduled an estimate appointment. Phil came out, work a mask, boot covers and got to work. I walked him through what we needed. He inspected, took measurements. After about an hour he was done. He estimated the price and it was a bit below what I thought it would take. The tasks would take two guys, a full day and include a new wash tub and a few other items. Most of this was labor intensive work. Breaking apart the 150+ lb old concrete tub and replacing with a new poly tub on top of pipes, rerouting things, cracking the concrete floor...lotta stuff for two people to get through in a day. I got the written estimate from Phil in my email the next day. I signed it and we scheduled the work. A week later, Hunter showed up (like Phil called in advance and was a few minutes early). Hunter had a mask on, boot covers. We checked out the basement, talked about a few things and he went to work. Jim from Matt Mertz arrived a little later for the dishwasher part of the job. These guys worked non-stop. We reviewed the job at the end of the day, and I noticed the pipes were not away from the window enough as I needed. I should have mentioned this early morning when talking with Hunter as this was a bit tricky. My bad. No worries though. We discussed a 2nd morning for some alterations. Jim came out a few days later and suggested a way the pipes and vents can be made to be removed versus trying to reroute things. Excellent. Jim changed cut the pipes added clamps and pieces that connect the pipes together. He explained what I needed to know when I want to remove them. I talked with Kate at the office for the reschedule and she was as good as it gets (understood what we needed, checked things were ok, confirmed, coordinated schedules, etc.). Phil, Hunter, Jim and Kate. Such a team. Oh, and Jim took a few minutes to show me how to tighten my RO water system’s water inlet valve (extra item I was wondering about). He was happy to share ideas and his experience. If you have not contacted Matt Mertz Plumbing for your plumbing job you should give them a call.

Everything went good with the drain clogging but the plumber broke my clean out lid and just left it loose. He tried claiming that they “always do that with customers” but did come back and put a Mickey moused replacement lid on. He didn’t leave me any instructions on how to remove that lid and when I investigated it myself the whole thing basically collapsed into the drain. Instead of offering to fix it he said “why would you try to remove it? Why would you touch it?” Even though it was in my house and I had every right to touch it...I tried to be nice and just ask for him to help me fish it out but they tried to get more money out of me to do it and made me feel like I was wrong for what I did. Despite the fancy commercials these people are arrogant and rude when it comes down to it and I would recommend anyone to just call someone else. Matt mertz plumbing is not what it’s hyped up to be.
