Matt Mertz Plumbing Trenchless Sewer Repair Expert

Calling at 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon, I expected to both wait and pay a premium. Matt Mertz himself arrived by 2PM with a partner, quickly assessed the situation, and replaced the broken shut-off valve and damaged section of pipe, installed a drain in the line, and replaced the hose outlet in about 45 minutes. We were able to turn the water back on to our home and carry on with our plans for the evening. I could not possibly be more pleased with their professionalism and skill.

After a DIY attempt to replace the shower valve went very wrong, the entire unit needed to be replaced. I called Matt Mertz Plumbing and was able to schedule a prompt service call. Bob called a half hour before arrival, and he was actually able to start earlier than anticipated, the repair was completed in short order, and actually came in under the estimate. Bob was friendly, professional, and honest. (One part of the repair turned out to not be necessary, and he let us know that. He could have easily charged us for it anyway, and we would have been none the wiser.) I am perfectly happy with the results, and am thrilled to now have their number in my contacts list. I will be using them again!

The workers were competent, efficient, professional, courteous, and friendly. They explained all the important steps in the process. They always made sure to minimize the inconvenience to the residents. The entire procedure took less than 4 days. After completion of the job they left the basement amazingly tidy and clean.

They exceeded my expectations. They were here fast, did a fantastic job. On a scale of a-10, I'd give them a 15! They came out within the half hour of calling.

After checking here for plumbers I called Matt Mertz Plumbing at 1:52PM today never expecting them to answer on a Satruday. Not only did they answer but they were able to send plumber Brian Tarr out with a water heater and didn't charge me an extra charge for the emergency and on a saturday! Brian explained what all he needed to do and got the job done quickly and he cleaned up after himself too! I am amazed that a potentially expensive urgent plumbing situation ended up being so painless awesome! 2 hours from my phone call he was walking out the door!

Jason was knowledgable and VERY easy to work with! He saved us a lot of time, money and clean up by quickly identifying the issues and working efficiently to get the job done. We would definitely use them again for plumbing issues!

Great Steve was there for about 2 hours Replace my leaky old kitchen faucet with the one i provided him also put new shut off valves done below the sink. He also brought the bottom up to code cutting out all the old traps and replacing everything. Great job i always go to these guys because they are the best!!! did an excellent job on the sewer line cleaning and provided an estimate on the repair of the interior and exterior sewer lines. They were very prompt in their response to our needs. They did not receive the bid for the sewer line repairs.

Bob called 30 minutes before arriving and was there exactly 30 minutes later. He identified the problem and went right to work. He did a fantastic job and even did a little exact work for me. Really appreciated the great job! Would highly recommend.

Shawn Mc. tried to snake the clog from the kitchen sink drain pipe but wasn't able to get it. He had to cut the pipe 6 inches before it went into the concrete to use the snake from there. After a little bit of work, he was able to get the pipe unclogged. He put a T joint on the pipe in the basement so we have easier access in the future. He also replaced and fixed the pipes under the sink, and made the drainage pipes under the sink easier to work with as well. We really enjoyed having Shawn as our service man, he was extremely nice, was nice to our dog and cats, and thoroughly explained everything to us. We are happy to have had him!

May 1, 2017 - I changed my rating from one star to three stars. Bob Mertz called me and refunded my cost for the drain cleaning that failed. He personally came to my house and gave me coupons and two bottles of drain cleaner. He did everything possible to make this right by me. I truly appreciate that and will consider giving these folks another chance. The plumber arrived as scheduled but he could not unclog the drain. He tried a snake, and a chemical called "sizzler". He looked at pipes in the basement and ended up suggesting I reschedule a visit to start cutting out basement pipes (obviously EXPENSIVE). He also used an entire bottle of previously purchased (my bottle) of enzyme cleaner not following instructions, essentially wasting it. He left, sorry he could not unclog the drain, and suggesting I try "Draino" and it that does not work, call for an appointment for him to cut basement pipes. I was charged $65 and left with a black goo mess in the sink, a worse clog than before he came, and a large puddle of water and broken ceiling tiles in the basement. I immediately called a competitor (a local plumber I have used before). They came in a couple hours same day. I told them the history and the new plumber said he would try the snake first, but that if it fails they would use a water jet (not pipe cutting). He also said NEVER use "Draino". Long story short. the snake unclogged the drain and it has been fine ever since. Bottom line - I paid $65 for NO drain cleaning by Mertz Plumbing... and they recommended an expensive and UNNECESSARY job. I will never call them again! Pretty bad coupon deal, wouldn't ya say?

My husband asked that a large root cutter be used and was told that wouldn't work. He subsequently called another plumber who put a chemical into trap to kill roots. The chemical didn't work so new plumber used large root cutter and that cleared it. It's been 2 weeks with no more issues. This was at a considerablely lower price than using a hydrojet. Hopefully it will work until we get tree removed.

Diane, in the office, was very nice and said she would check to see if they could get someone out this morning and call me back. Due to the fact I had to leave for a trip at noon, they worked quickly and had a service tech out to our house by 8:15AM! The plumber, Bryan Tarr, was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and very professional. After a few minutes of searching, he determined the water was coming from a poor fitting on the dishwasher, dripping to the floor and the water followed an electrical cord down through the floor into the subfloor above the garage. Bryan said "I can fix that", and he did. He showed me what was happening and what we needed to do to get the area under the dishwasher dry. This was my first time using Matt Mertz Plumbing. If I need to use a plumber again, it will be Matt Mertz Plumbing!

Matt was on site for the entire job. His crew was competent and efficient. Refill and clean up were excellent. He even added a drain from my riff gutters for no extra charge! I have had no problems since the work was done.

Brian Tarr suggested a solution that saved us significant repair cost. He was patient, competent, and listened to our concerns. Brian made several recommendations for future work we have planned. He was engaging, courteous and seemed to enjoy his work, a true professional! I'll ask for him the next time I need a plumber.

Brian Tarr did a fantastic job installing a toilet and sink in our basement. He was prompt, enthusiastic, and answered our questions. We had an irregular sink size so he had to come back a few times, but was extremely helpful through the process.

Steve A. was very professional and worked continuously all afternoon until the work was done, checked, and all clean up was done. I was very pleased with the work and how pleasant he was to deal with. I will use Matt Mertz Plumbing again for any plumbing needs I may have in the future.
