From our first contact with the office staff, we were impressed. The salesman was by far the best of the others we met. He knew the product inside and out and explained the features and details in language we could understand. The installers were terrific! Despite a very cold and windy day, they worked diligently until the job was done in one day. They were very personable and true professionals. The clean-up was just as good as I would do myself...and that's saying something. Buying new windows and storm door is definitely daunting...unless you have a personal recommendation or know someone in the business. This is a expensive investment in our house and we certainly wanted our money's worth and a good product and installation. We relied on Angie's List to guide us to the right company. And, we are so glad that we used Angie's List because they certainly led us to the best company. Thanks, Legacy Remodeling. And, thanks Angie's List.

I felt like I was in a high pressure sales environment and that the saleman took way too much time. I do not have 2.5 hours to talk about siding nor do I want to pay for that kind of sales staff overhead.

We weren?t entirely happy with quote that we got and the work that they proposed for us. They basically told us that they could not do what we wanted them to do. The work that they proposed to us was not at all what we wanted or anticipated, so we found another company that could do what we wanted. Their pricing was also well over what our budget was for the work we wanted to do. They were pleasant when they came to give us the estimate.

Work was completed to my satisfaction, but the quoted start date was missed by two weeks, which ended up being 6 weeks from the time I signed the contract. I emailed and called numerous times to get an update and a concrete start date with no response. Again, the work was fine, the pricing was acceptable, and the people were punctual, but the responsiveness etc was lacking.

Excellent. They did the job fast, cleaned up after themselves, were pleasant and professional. In the process of removing one of the old windows, they broke one of the marble window sills, but without even saying a word, replaced it the next day with an identical slab. One thing I liked about this company is that, in contrast to the first estimate I got on the windows, they didn't just try to sell me their highest cost product. Instead, they let me know the range of products they sell and allowed me to choose. The reason I gave price and quality good instead of excellent is that windows are expensive, so I did not choose the highest quality. Their price was good despite the extremely high price of windows! I would, without a doubt, recommend this company.

Their service was excellent. They did an ecellent job. The price was as good as we could have gotten any where else.

we met the company at the Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show. Sales rep came to our house. Initially we were a little skeptical about going with them because they seemed rather aggressive about their sales pitch. But after further discussion with the rep, he was able to carefully explain a lot about his product. The time he spent to teach us about what we were purchasing convinced us that they were the right company for the installation. We visited their showroom and then perused a catalog. The representative remained with us during the entire selection process to answer any questions. Believe me, there were a lot of questions. The installers arrived 1-2 weeks before our projected install date, which was fantastic. Intallation of all windows and doors took 2 days. They were professional. They even helped us move a piece of furniture downstairs which we could only fit when the door frame was temporarily removed. Since our install, we encountered only 2 problems which they have addressed quickly and without question. The product was expensive, but the service and quality are worth the price. We do plan to use them again for future window replacements on our second floor.

Everyone at Legacy was professional and kind. From the initial salesman to the follow-up to the manager to the installers. We didn't meet a single person at Legacy who wasn't attentive and thoughtful. The installers were fabulous and thorough. The whole job was done in one day as promised and at the price agreed. I will call them when I am ready to do siding.

I have never had a company be so rude and waste my time as much as this company has. This company sends their workers door to door advertising their services. Two weeks ago we were asked by a worker if we would like an estimate on blown-in attic insulation and we agreed since this was something we are going to get done this year. An appointment was set up for the following Monday at 6 pm. That Friday a female worker called to confirm the appointment, which we did. She asked if both of us would be present and my husband said he couldn't promise that I would be home on time b/c of traffic. The worker said that they preferred me to be there to which my husband responded by telling her that we didn't expect to sign that day anyway and that he would just relay the information to me and we would make our decision. The woman said "fine" in a snappy tone and hung up abruptly. We thought that things were fine and my husband stayed home from work on Monday and I left work early b/c I wanted to make the appointment. Noone showed. After a half hour I called Legacy to find out what happened and found out that they cancelled our appointment b/c we were unconfirmed. We both wasted our time with this company once before. I guess we've finally learned our lesson.

We did not have Legacy Remodeling perform any work on our home based on our lousy experience with the salesman, who never provided an estimate.

Unfortunately the representative had some emotional issues due to his wifes death. I have no issues with the company, but I did not get the product because I felt Owens Corning was to expensive. I personally didn't like the product after I saw the construction quality and visited a neighbor who had the product installed. The neighbors basement was damp. In addition, after reading the insulting comment the representative wrote about me personally, I must add additional information about the representative, Ken. I offered him sometrhing to drink, water or a diet soda. I was finishing an after dinner wine and he told me he would like to have "that". He finished that wine and proceeded to help himself to several more glasses. He became drunk, vomited in my powder room sink, I had to get him a towel and washcloth so he could clean himself up, I also gave him mouthwash. I had originally thought about getting the product, but decided against it after seeing my neighbors basement. Ken also staggered as he was leaving and loosened the rail going down to the front door on his way out. I don't feel his wife's death has anything to do with his outrageous behavior or arrogant attitude. I am a widow and live alone. I,m sure his attitude would have been much different if I had been a man.

There were two old roofs to remove. The people they used were new to the company despite that the sales people told me that they use subcontractors with whom they have had experience. The older roof came off in small pieces due to age. The crew swept these pieces into my vent to the sewer line and backed up the sewer. They did not lay down covers and swept these pieces into my gutters, onto my plants crushing many of them, onto my barbecue, etc. Nails were everywhere. The worst was that with the heavy snow this winter and having someone else do repairs, I found out that they neglected to place two strips that cover the openings between the bricks and wall, one in the front and one in the back of the house. This caused leaking all through my house and resulting damage to all my plaster walls. I was told that these two strips are very inexpensive and should have been part of the new roof.

Everything went very well. I thought they were very professional. I thought the estimate was high, not compared to other companies, but compared to what I wanted to spend for this project. The company was responsive and professional but I just decided not to do the project.

It was the first quote I got and when I got another one, it was only about $1,000 less. They were good. They responded to my request quickly and were out within a week to do the estimate.

They took the old roof off and replaced it with a new one. We liked the company. They are probably a bit more expensive than some of the other people our there, but they have always been right. They did clean up after the work was done and there was nothing that was lost. They did a good job with that since there weren?t any nails all over the property. They are not the least expensive company neither are they most expensive, but you probably have to pay a little bit of a premium. If need be, then I would use their services in the future too.

Called to get an estimate for new gutters, window siding damaged from the winter storm. I was told by Beth because this is an insurance claim, there is a $125 fee for an estimate even though they advertise free estimates. I told her that is bad business to not do what you advertise, and I will find somone else that wants to do the work!!!

One of the windows was broken and I had to get new window panes. The person who came out was on time and pretty knowledgeable. He knew what he was doing and did a good job. He had also cleaned up after himself. The work turned out well and I was satisfied.

They are basically an Owens Corning franchise so they push those products on you. The person that comes out is a salesperson and they don?t know the details of remodeling; they are basically coming to sell you a product and it feels like a used car dealer the whole time. They were at my hosue for over three hours for the quote. The quote wasn?t completely ridiculous for what they were doing but they were there for so long and they made me watch a PowerPoint with some videos. Maybe some people would be up for that but you think if someone is redoing their basement, they don?t need to sit through a presentation of a product. They try to convince you to sign up that day so that you can get a discount and they called back a week later trying to haggle. I don't like being pressured. I ended up not going with them.

Smoothly and pretty timely. We singed the contract at the end of October and the windows were installed over a 2-day period starting January 8th. Two of the coldest and snowiest days Pittsburgh has had in years. All of the windows were custom sizes, and our timing for ordering meant that Thanksgiving and year-end holidays would add some delay to the manufacturing an delivery timeframes. The salesperson was informative and experienced. The installers were diligent, professional, careful, and neat. The office staff, when we called them for updates and when they called us to discuss delivery/install schedules, was great as well. We are very pleased at this point. And our house is MUCH warmer!

We liked the kind of window that we got. There were a couple of mistakes and they came back at no extra charge and fixed them.

My parents used them about five years ago to put in some windows and were very happy with their work, so, I called them. They were great and I would probably use them again because we are planning to do some windows.

We were very happy with Jack Byron, the salesman. We wanted to give our house a fresh look with the new windows. Their size was a problem in decided what to replace them with. Jack was very instrumental in helping us come up with a design plan that would work. His architectural knowledge was very useful and it really felt like he was interested in our project, not just the sale. He is the reason we would use the company again. The price quote was reasonable and they were the only company that could provide a picture window of the size we required. When the men came to install the windows, the process went smoothly taking out all the old windows. They then discovered they were missing a side window. It would not come in for two weeks, so they had to replace the old window and come back two weeks later. It was an inconvenience to us and they said the reason it was misplaced is that orders are checked in by number of orders not type of items. It was the manufacturer's error, but it should have been caught before the windows were loaded and work scheduled. They came in a couple weeks before the work started. We thought this was a poor inventory method and hope they have taken steps to correct it. We also ran into an issue when it came to paying since they had not discussed form of payments accepted. They were able to accomodate our credit card request using a basement company they also own. This was after they tried to make us pay the fee the credit card company charges (they then waived it). We are happy with the windows so far. I wish our dog didn't destroy our bow window screens. We considered using this company again for siding the following year, but went with a competitor due to the fact they didn't offer the type of siding we ended up liking. Despite the set backs, we were happy at how they were resolved. It is the quality of the work and how the company resolves problems that speak the most about the company.

When we decided to go with Legacy, they told us up fron that it would be about 8 weeks before they would be able to start the job. About 4 weeks into the 8 weeks, they called to say they could start it the next day. They had the front and part of one side done the first day. They took away all of the old siding and cleaned up after themselves every day. All told the work took about 4 days and it looks fabulous.

I called them and they were really gung-ho. The guy that they sent out to do the estimate didn t know what he was doing. When the windows were ordered they came out wrong. Then the guy that they sent over to do the job looks like he just got out of jail. He looked really scary. He did a nice job but when someone shows up at your door and they look like that it s really scary. They did the job but I'm still not happy with the product and the prices were way too expensive. We didn't get something that was usable in the end.
