LEGACY REMODELING INC

We ordered the windows in March and scheduled them to be installed in May. The installer called on Sunday afternoon and said he could not come on Monday because his helper went out of town. I called Legacy Remodeling Inc on Monday and they said they would have another installer come on Tuesday. The installer arrived late and said he would have to return the next day to finish. He called the next day and said he had babysitting problems and couldn't come until Thursday, so my husband had to take off 2 days from work. After he left, we noticed some problems with the windows. One of the boards on the frame of the bow window was damaged and some aluminum was missing above 4 of the outside windows. Three of the windows also were supposed to be stationery and they were not. The handles to open the blinds on the bowed window did not work properly and had to be replaced. I called Legacy Remodeling Inc the next day and they sent out the sales manager and his supervisor to inspect the irregularities. They said they would have these problems fixed. I went back and forth with the scheduler for about 2 months. I don't know why it took so long to get the parts that they needed. They should have been ordered right away. I scheduled the installation two months ahead of time so that everything would be completed in a timely manner. We had to take a total of 4 days off from work to accommodate the installers. They are coming back on 08/02/14 to finish (hopefully). We like the windows, but the reliability of the workers was very poor and no one seemed to know what the other was doing.

From the beginning of the process working with the sales rep to the installation, it was flawless. The installers were courteous, professional and took pride in their work. The results were beyond my expectations. I will be using Legacy Remodeling for my future projects.

The job went very well. The installer was scheduled to begin the job on a Thursday but could not due to personal reasons - so he came on a Saturday to begin the job. He put two of the windows in that day and then returned early Monday to finish the job. They cleaned up after themselves, hauled the old windows away and were careful not to mess anything up. Last year I had a triple sliding door replaced by Legacy and we liked it enough to have them return to replace some of our windows. If I have any complaint it would be that the salesman said it would take about 6 weeks for the windows to arrive. But 6 weeks turned into 12 weeks. I called the customer service person wondering what was taking so long, but she did not know why. But they came and we scheduled the install within a week after the arrival.

Bob, the installer, was really super. He came on time and realized fairly soon that enough time hadn't been scheduled for putting in our windows. That was a Friday and he ended up coming back both Saturday and Sunday to finish getting all our windows in at one time. He finished literally as it began to rain on Sunday. He was efficient, professional and meticulous in making sure everything was done right. The windows look great.

Went great. Installer polite, punctual and did a good job. I also had this company install a bay window a couple years ago and would definitely use again.

Salesman was nice enough but the price was absurd. We received 6 estimates in total and he was twice as much as everybody else. He also informed me that Angie's List was a scam and if companies pay enough money, they can have their negative reviews removed. I contacted Angie's List and was told that was untrue. A total waste of time.

We were very impressed with the quality of products we received as well as the amazing level of service. We had the job quoted in the beginning of January and we were told it would take 6 weeks to make the door (they are custom). It took exactly the amt of time the salesman said it would. The two installers were AMAZING. Very nice, professional, and obviously knew what they were doing. They worked quickly and cleanly even in the terrible February weather. They even adjusted another door we were having problems with free of charge. We splurged on a $2000 door but the quality is amazing, now I know how smoothly doors are supposed to open and close! We happened to have another contractor there at the time working on our bathroom and he even mentioned what a great job they did.

What we thought we were getting was custom cabinets built to our Kitchen. What we got were pre-built cabinets with Hickory face frames and paper sided instead of veneer. Just before the project began, a major water leak flooded our kitchen and basement. Insurance paid another contractor to remove all the lower cabinets which were supposed to be remove by Legacy anyway. Legacy did not change their price even though some of the work was already done for them. Several times I did a walk through and found sub standard work, when I would ask the foreman to look at what I found he usually found the work before I could point it out. (The foreman on the site was actually the best part of the project. Very helpful, and knew what he was doing.) Before the cabinets were ordered they had us give them the measurements to the New Appliances. When the cabinet above the refrigerator left a 6" gap between it and the refrigerator I was told I needed to pay another $350 to make it right. I had to argue with the salesmen showing the picture I was given of what the final product was to look like and really fight my case that the wrong cabinet was ordered before they would order a new one. The Pantry cabinet was built to hold five pull out drawers but only had four. When I pointed this out they told me it was so we had the option to adjust but to adjust it required tools a normal home owner would not know how to use. Upon further inspection we found the shelf peg holes in the top of the pantry did not line up. (and still don't) The "Compromise" was to either replace the pantry or give us the missing pull out drawer. They chose the pull out drawer. I would not recommend Legacy due to their Higher price and the service that does not match. It's a year after the finish of this project and I still feel we were WAY over charged for what we got. Formica counter tops paper cabinets and linoleum but the price we paid you would think we got custom built cabinets, stone counter tops and tile floors.

They confirmed the appointment and showed up on time. He took a look at the pitch of my porch roof and admitted that I'd be better off going with aluminum awning, which this company does not do. I was very impressed that he didn't just go ahead and try to sell me on a shingled roof. He went back to his office and was unable to find anyone associated with the business that did aluminum, but he did give me the phone number of someone who does.

I initially wanted wood windows, I love the look of natural wood, but after talking with a few installers, I chose sunrise Restoration Windows and Legacy Remodeling. The Sunrise windows had some of the highest efficieancy ratings, particullarlly in the area of visible transference and air infiltation ( as I live in a very windy area this was more important than the look of wood). I chose the white look (the wood veneer looked too fake). the Salesperson brought examples of the windows, explained in detail the function and performed a light/heat test right there. I liked that these windows were filled with a foam layer, providing more insulation, and were guaranteed for the life of the window. These Windows were custom made to fit the existing openings, so there was a 4 week wait while they were manufactured, It was a rainy week when they arrived so they had to reschedule a few times, ended up installing on a Sunday. The install went great, they arrived when tehy said and worked straight through until all the windows were in, then explained how to open an clean them. I think I'll probably be replacing the rest of the windows in a few years (while "newer", the rest of the windows are cheap and not very efficient), and I will be giving them another call.

We had used Legacy about two years prior for replacement windows. We saw their kiosk at a home and garden show and filled out an info card. When they contacted us and scheduled an in-home appointment, we found out that they had been the company that replaced windows for the previous owner of our home. Since all the windows were the same brand/model we wanted to maintain the same look. The first time they installed windows for us was a good experience. The job was done well and the windows look great. We could have paid less for windows with other companies but we were happy with the service Legacy had provided previously. The sales rep stated that the process would take about four to five weeks for fabricating and installation. Legacy called about four weeks later to schedule an installation date and time. The installers showed up a little after noon and set up their equipment. They were very nice and professional. The installation was done in under three hours and they cleaned up after themselves. The windows look great but the only problem is that they only have half screens. When the sales rep was at our house for the initial estimate, I specifically asked him if the windows would have full screens. He assured me that they would come with full screens. I called Legacy on Saturday and was told I would need to speak with someone the following Monday, since that particular department is closed on weekends. I left a voice message with my complaint and will wait for the call back on Monday. Called Legacy and spoke to Jillian. She said she would have the original sales rep contact me. About 15 minutes later, she called back and told me that she placed the order for new full screens to be made. She said that it would take approximately 3 weeks and they would be delivered to the house when finished. I really appreciate her initiative to rectify the issue. Three weeks have passed and the screens were delivered as promised on Tuesday.

They were very good. Everything was fine and there were no problems. From start to finish, everything was good.

They are very good and cooperative.

Won't consider this contractor for our job.

Contact initiated at Home Show, project described. Call to set up appointment. Told that it involved two areas of company. Backed up on remodeling, could consider windows. Estimator came to house, spent at least one hour measuring/discussing. No follow up. No price on even window installation. No followup on powder room project. It was a while ago and I wasn't going to write a review about this problem, but the company was still soliciting business recently at a local art fair.

Dave was the salesman. He was very friendly and thorough as we reviewed our choices of door type. Our door is unusual in that it swings in. This fact was missed by the person ordering the door, so the installer's time was wasted as he started to remove the old door before discovering the new one was not right. They ordered the door again and the installation went smoothly. The installer was friendly and professional. The only odd thing in the end was that they put a black door closer bracket on a white door. They said that swing in doors only come with black brackets, doesn't make sense to me but that's what they said.

All in all, the end result was satisfying. Hardie product much more substantial compared to previous Masonite stucco like siding. Home is much more in the maintenance-free category now. Legacy did a quality job, complicated with me being forced to be out of town during the work. A relative monitored progress and reported back to me. Ken Moeslein, head of Legacy was proactive in communications and responsive to correct issues and finalize any change requests. I had researched qualified/certified Hardie installers and Legacy was on the short list. Legacy was responsive and came out to the house to conduct an estimate and submitted it to me within a few days. Started a bit on the wrong foot as Legacy's initial estimate assumed installation over the existing siding. I had concerns over the stability of the Masonite and basically wanted it off the house (for those that are not familiar with Masonite it is essentially a 1/2 inch paper/cardboard siding sheet product with a decorative painted outer layer - popular in 1980's with builders, but prone to moisture issues). After revising scope and coming to terms (Ken knocked off 15% to include removal and installation of new OSB), work proceeded on schedule. Installation happened fairly quickly and on schedule. Believe the actual workman included subs and Legacy staff. There were some minor issues identified during the install (trim fit primarily) that were acknowledged in walk through reviews. Ken in the end was instrumental in closing and correcting any remaining items.

The siding installers were professional, personable, and thorough. The siding looks great and we are happy with the job they did. The insulation job only took a few hours and also went well. I gave them a B because there were miscommunications from the beginning from their sales agent as to when we could schedule the installation and then as to the total length of time for the project (sales said about five days, the installers said 10 days, it ended up taking about 4-5 weeks in part due to weather), among other things. It was difficult to get a clear answer. I do think they have good quality products, but we may or may not use them again because the administrative side of things was a bit of a hassle.

Legacy is higher priced for windows than other contractors I contacted but the window quality is great and these windows are guaranteed for life. The guarantee can even be transferred to new owners if I sell the house. I was pleased with the quick response and knowledge of the salesman, but there was a little delay in getting the installer to come for the initial visit to do the final window measurement. There was also a delay, that I was told was caused by the manufacturer, in actually receiving the windows, but once they came in the installer contacted me immediately and scheduled the install right away. The installer and his partner did excellent work, were very careful during the job, and when they left they had cleaned up so well that if I would have had company right away they wouldn't have even known I'd had workman at my house that day. They obviously care about the work they do which is not too common with many contractors. I hope to use them again for future projects.

2 individuals arrived around 9:30 am and they immediately went to work. They laid down cloth tarps on the steps leading up to the bedrooms and the area they were working. They both took a room until they were all done upstairs and then they proceeded downstairs. I was so amazed by them, they were so professional and skilled in their field. No fubbling around, they were prepared to do the job. I really didn't notice if they took a break. They vacuumed after they finished the job and you wouldn't have known they were there except for the great looking windows they installed. They were done by 6:15 pm. Excellant job!

Their pricing was very high. Their workmanship was probably very good. We just thought that for just the roof, the price they quoted was very, very high.

Our existing wood door was rotting on the outside and we needed to replace it. We had wanted to replace it with another wood door so that it matched the other wood windows and molding we had in the house. The salesman showed us how they could match our existing color with a fiberglass door. We visited their show room to check out the door and see the color we wanted. It looks very close in color, so we went with it. It was installed pretty close to when they said it would, and the installer did a nice job.

It was good. We actually had a little leak this week after the rain. They came out within an hour of me calling them. So far, we're pleased. The workmen were very nice and professional.

They promptly got in touch with us and scheduled an appointment. The gentleman came to measure for the door a few days later. Several weeks later we were informed that the door was ready to be installed and scheduled an appointment. The installer arrived when he said he would and did a very good job.

Bob and his team arrived on time - setup their saws, etc. quickly...needed 7 windows done (6 sliders and 1 two slider) within no time the guys had the old one out and were cleaning up the old "Stuff". New windows were completely installed before they moved to the next one...cleaning up as they went along. The last one was a double slider which was replacing one that was a double side casement ? cemented in. Bob's team had the old one out (only broke one plane) in no time - cleaned up. Built a wooden frame - set the window - foamed it...framed it ...and cleaned up.....Did I mention that they cleaned up before moving on to the next phase... Had them measure three more windows forthe next phase ? so yes I welcome this company back!
