Jeff was extremely helpful & accomodating. I had a locked luggage box that unfortunately didn't have a matching set of keys. Jeff was able to open it with no problem. We had been struggling with a semi-functional front door lock for weeks -- it would lock and unlock but the turnpiece kept falling out. Efforts to rescrew it were unsuccessful, or only temporarily successful, because the wood of the door itself was stripped where the screws go in. I called Jeff on a Wednesday to request that he come on Friday, which was the day i could get off work. He rearranged his schedule to make that worked, arrived precisely at the time he said he would, and within half an hour had fixed the lock itself, the doorknob (which I hadn't been aware was also a problem), and looked out our powder room lock as well. He had ordered a new part for me, based on my description of the problem, but when he was onsite he said he could just as easily work with the parts I already had -- thus preserving the look of the door (it's a 1920s house) and saving me the cost of a new part. Excellent all round!

Jeff was very responsive, polite, and professional. He did the work quickly and high quality, explaining what he was doing each step of the way. In addition to re-keying and replacing the exterior locks, he also happened to have a skeleton key that fit three of our interior doors that we had no key for -- and gave it to us at no cost! I was also impressed by the fact that very little ended up in the trash. He took the old locks that were being replaced to use them for spare parts and the old keys for the door that he re-keyed went into a recycling bin. The only slight negative was that he had to reschedule my appointment due to an surprise job for one of his large commercial customers. He was very apologetic and gave me discount that more than made up for the inconvenience of having to reschedule.

Jeff was very professional when I called to find out if he could re-key an old fashioned lock. I was able to take a picture of the lock on my phone and send it to him, and he was able to identify the type of lock and said he could re-key it. We set an appointment for 2 weeks forward, as I was in no rush, and he arrived promptly at the scheduled date and time. He was able to re-key the lock quickly and with no problems. Jeff took the time to explain how the lock worked (there were 2 "buttons" that could be used to keep the outer knob from turning). I then realized it would be good to re-key other locks on the house. Jeff pointed out that it would good to do them at the same time so that all the work would be done on a single service call which would save some cost, and Jeff was able to stay and re-key 4 more locks (2 deadbolts and 2 keyed entry knobs). He was very quick, courteous, competent, and professional. He also honored his $5 Angie's List customer discount even though I had forgotten to bring it with me. I rated the Price as "n/a" solely because I did not get other estimates. I chose Jeff's company because he is the owner and the worker, and I find that sometimes the owner will sound great on the phone but the actual worker that comes out is different, so I try to pick from Angie's list those who own and do the work. I liked how Jeff seemed on the phone and I did not run around to get multiple price quotes. I think the price is probably just fine, but simply didn't feel qualified to make the rating. I would definitely recommend Jeff's Lock & Key Service and would definitely call him again for future locksmith type of activities.

Jeff arrived promptly on the day we had scheduled and performed the lock replacement. He was very knowledgeable and courteous and was extremely meticulous about his work. He actually installed and reinstalled the new lock several times because he was not satisfied with how smoothly it was functioning. He ended up removing some inner part on the lock I had purchased and replacing it with a part he had in his truck and showed me how the new part had been defective and did not properly align. I offered to pay for the replacement part but he told me not to worry about it and charged me based on his original estimate. The finished job looks great. I would not hesitate to call Jeff for any future needs or recommend him to any of my neighbors.

I needed to have a deadbolt (no deadbolt currently) and a new handleset installed on my front entry door. Contacted Jeff's Lock & Key Service based on all the positive reviews. Experience was great from start to finish - just like everyone else has said. Jeff returned my call quickly and scheduled an apointment within a week. He arrived on time and was very courteous and professional. He seemed very knowledgable did a very good job installing the electronic deadbolt and explaining how it works. I would recommend Jeff to anyone who has any security needs in their home.

The lock on our front door jammed and we could not lock the door any longer. Since the door was a metal door, we did not want to try to install a new lock ourselves. We contacted Jeff's Lock and Key Service and he was able to do the work on a Saturday morning. He arrived on time and began work immediately. He replaced the doorknob and installed a dead bolt. He went the extra mile to match the keys to our existing side door so we only have to use one key for all doors. Jeff was very professional and courteous as well as patient with a somewhat excitable beagle. He finished the work quickly and we are very pleased with the results. I would definitely recommend Jeff's Lock and Key service but be advised he does not take credit cards. His prices are reasonable however.
