Description of Work: Mark cleaned up years worth of junk that was just clogging up my computer and causing it to run slow, freeze and crash. He removed a lot of temporary files and programs that were running in the background, but that I never actually use, and he ran an anti-virus program that cleaned up hundreds of problems. He was very knowledgeable & took the time to explain what he was doing and answer any questions we had. Since the work was done, my computer has been running better and I am not experiencing the problems I had before.

Description of Work: Fixed a printer issue. Installed a new wireless printer. Resolved a connectivity problem as well

Description of Work: My computer would but turn on. We lived far enough away that we couldn't make it there with our baby so we paid to have them come to us in cranberry at my parents' house. They saved the computer and explained everything. So friendly!

Description of Work: Transferred old data from my dead Dell to new Apple laptom - amazingly got it all! Also analysed old Toshiba laptop, reconfigured and managed to find more useable memory. Great job!

Description of Work: Mark came to our residence at the appointed hour and "cleaned" two of our laptops -removing malware that evaded our security screening services and other annoying things that generated unwanted pop ups.| We have used him before and find him to be excellent and reasonably priced.|

I have been using this company for a number of years now and have complete confidence in theoir services. Mark was here for almost three hours today and worked nonstop the whole time Highly recommend.

Description of Work: Home Computer Help is by far the BEST thing I ever found on Angie's List! I have zero computer savvy, and have already used them 2-3 times for my PC. It is a family-owned and run company, and the son is who helped me every time. He is knowledgable, efficient, courteous and answered all my questions. The first time I called Home Computer Help was when I got some horrid virus that almost trashed my PC. The second time was when I got a new PC and needed to transfer data & set up internet so I could perform work at home. I was very pleased with the service and results and would HIGHLY recommend this wonderful company!

Description of Work: Gave me a diagnostic test of my laptop and informed me it was pretty much dead. Very professional and prompt.

Description of Work: My laptop battery showed a message that the battery needed to be plugged in as there was a limited time left to use it. The problem was that the battery was already plugged in. It went dark and I purchased a new battery. That unfortunately did not solve the problem. I took the computer to Home Computer Help as they only live a few minutes from my home. They diagnosed tha problem (power cord), ordered a new power cord for me and the problem was solved. This was my firs experience in using this company but I would not hesitate to use them again.

Description of Work: Our service tech Mark A. Draa was very nice and explained everything he was doing and why. You could tell he really liked his job. Everything we needed done was completed in a timely mannor, we were very happy with the service that was provided and we would use there company again!

Description of Work: My HP Pavilion was running extremely slow and I thought I had adware or spyware. I called Mark and he spent time in my home attempting to solve my problem, but to no avail, so he had to take the computer home and work on it. He called me early the next morning to advise it was a defective motherboard. He was able to salvage all the data on my hard drive (60 gig of "my documents") and download it on another new pc that I had purchased and never used. Also, he solved a problem in less than two minutes that was never resolved by Comcast and HP technicians, i.e. the Internet on the new computer initially was not coming up, although connections were showing okay. Comcast was advising me to unplug and then replug their modem, which didn't work. When Mark came, he knew to actually take the battery out of the modem for a few seconds, since I have the Triple Bundle phone/tv/internet package with Comcast and there is still battery backup even though the modem is unplugged.
