The two guys he has installing the kitchen are very nice guys. They work hard and Had the cabinets up in a day. They cleaned up their mess and left my kitchen looking 100x's better! I love my kitchen. I would tell anyone to go to Budget Kitchen and Bath!
Description of Work: The owner to Budget Kitchen and Bath is very nice. We met him at the Home Show down at Pittsburgh a few times. Each year we would see him and the bigger the showroom got! Finally this was the year we were going to remodel our kitchen. He was very helpful along with Noel helping us out and answering our questions.

DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen was very responsive, professional and courteous throughout the entire process of resurfacing our bathtub. It was in desperate need of an update, an older bathtub, a three piece component. Al Koval, the owner of the establishment on Saw Mill Run Blvd was very understanding and very easy to work with. All calls were returned promptly, and the staff answering the telephone was always very friendly and courteous! The tub, a big job, was done in two days. Well worth it, and looks great now, just like new. I would highly recommend this service from this team.

Response from Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen - Pittsburgh
At DreamMaker our franchise owns Allegheny, Washington and Cambria counties. There used to be a franchise in Westmoreland County which prevented us from crossing into that county to do business. However, that franchise recently closed and we are able to work in Westmoreland County. The temporary summer helper we had here was unaware of that which is why [member name removed] was told we do not service that area. If [member name removed] doesn't hold a grudge and would like us to take a look at her project, we would be happy to do that. My apologies for the misunderstanding.

Dreammaker refinished the bath tub, new sink, cabinet, toilet and tile floor. They removed the old wall tile and replaced it with updated tile. Al is wonderful and his crew was respectful of the property, very personable and knowledgable. We had a couple of mishaps but Al was quick to take care of any and all issues that would arise. Al also added a valve to decrease the high water pressure. Kudos to one if their top workers, Larry. Thank you Larry for all of your knowledge, kindness and awesome work ethic.

Work was performed on two (2) rooms in my house, a main bath and a powder room. This work was Exceptional, and the results were outstanding. I am (along with my wife) totally pleased, satisfied with the results. The crew in all aspects of these two projects were professional, clean and had total consideration for the home owner. The project was handled from the bid proposal, to the last worker leaving by the (company) owner, Al. This individual was responsive, returned calls, and kept me (the owner) apprised of all schedulng details, products and ALWAYS made certain the customer was satisfied ! This was not my first venture with the company or the owner Al, he has provided me with almost 25 years of this kind of service and work performance !

They did an okay job but it was just average. I do not remember the cost of the service. What they did was good but then I called because I had issues with it and the man that they sent to see my issues got really angry over the issues and he kind of screwed up the job. There were little bubbles in the paint and I was worried that it would lift and he came back and just put paint on his thumb and just put marks everywhere. That man was a pain in the ass. They did a really nice job but when I called them back, the guy just started dabbing paint everywhere so there were just little blobs of paint all over the walls. I went with them in the first place because they seemed like a decent company and they have held up to that very well. It was just this jerk that came back that ruined my opinion of them but they were on time for the appointments. I might use them again in the future if I need to but I would look for somebody else first.

Guest bathroom looks awesome Master bath is to be done when we schedule it. Very pleased with results! Old blue tile and bathtub(1960's) has been painted Bisque and looks brand new! Much better results than a plastic bath fitter tub. So glad we found DreamMaker's and this process. Highly Recommend!

I had debated about getting a new tub, but decided to give this a try and am so glad I did. Pat, the estimator told me how the process worked and that's exactly what happened. All the walls and floor were covered while the new paint and finish were applied, so just the tub got the color. There were several applications with drying time in between. I also had some cracked wall tiles around the bottom of the walls. They were repaired and painted as well and look brand new. The outcome is excellent.

It went very well. We were apprehensive about refinishing the bathtub, but Al Koval showed us several tubs in the showroom that had been refinished and looked pretty good. Al said these tubs were done in ideal conditions and if done in a home setting they might not look as good. We were pleasantly surprised when our tub turned out just as good as the showroom tubs. The service was excellent from the showroom to the completion of the job, including the office staff and the technician doing the job. The job took two days and everything went as scheduled; the technician was very courteous and professional, and gave us some tips on how to take care of the refinished tub.. The refinishing job is now about seven months old and is holding up well. We couldn't be more pleased!

I had a very good experience with Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen - Pittsburgh. They were prompt with their responses. They came in right at their estimate. There were no hidden expenses. They worked quickly and were clean. We had a problem in that a shelf they put in the shower didn't set correctly. I called to have it fixed and they came out quickly and fixed it, right away with no additional charge. They were the most affordable out of all of the estimates that we got.

Owner very nice, honest, prompt, on time for bid meeting. Customer service very helpful, courteous, patient. It took a bit of extra time and a home visit from a decorator to make sure the color matched correctly. Technician was nice, neat, and knowledgeable. Everything in the bathroom was protected before the refinishing process was started. Good followup after the job. The cost of refinishing was far less than the cost of replacing a tub/shower wall unit and it looks marvelous!!!! I highly recommend this company and probably will use them again to refinish another tub/shower wall unit!

I found Dreammaker on Angie's List. I reviewed at least 10-15 listings for kitchen remodeling companies. Dreammakers stood out to me because of their positive reviews and their well-designed and informational website. I also liked that they were located on Rte 51 in the South Hills which is very convenient from my home. My first experience with Terri was in my home. Terri came in the evening on a week night when my husband and I were available. This was a great convenience to us since we both work during the day and have a 2 year old son. She spent about an hour looking at our space, talking through some ideas, listening to our vision, discussing our budget, and taking measurements and sketching our space. She was the ONLY prospective contractor to ask to see the basement below the kitchen to see where the plumbing and gas lines were presently located (a key point once construction began). One of our goals was removing all or a portion of the wall between the kitchen and family room. Although we had been told when we purchased the home that the wall had previously been removed, Terri was concerned because it appeared to be an original exterior supporting wall of the house (and she was so right - we found out later on). While in the basement she also identified a pipe in that wall from the baseement which may pose problems if we wanted to remove the wall entirely. She indicated she would want to have Al, co-owner and master plumber, come out and take a look to see if the pipe could be reworked or worked around. Terri thanked us for our time and invited us to come view their showroom and their show-kitchen at the Home and Garden show which was taking place that very next weekend. My family went to see Terri and meet Al at the Home & Garden Show. We were really impressed with their show kitchen. The cabinets were top of the line, with the soft close doors, beautiful materials, logical layout, and beautifully designed backsplash that everyone who walked by seemed to notice. I was very excited to look at the materials that Dreammaker had available in their showroom - and I was not disappointed. Terri and I met again in her showroom on Rte 51. She showed me her design idea for the kitchen. She used a computer program so that the kitchen was laid out from a number of angles. She walked me through some of the cabinet options including a pull-out spice rack, a diagonal base cabinet which would maximize space in my kitchen while minimizing interference with the natural flow between kitchen and family room. She showed me counter top options including solid surface, quartz, and granite. She showed me different ceramic tile for the floors and coordinating backsplash decorative tiles. The enitre process took about an hour, but at the end, she put together a color palete and said she would work up a price based on the materials we selected. Terri was the only prospective contractor to get my 'vision' for the kitchen with warm earthy tones, including the granite countertops, nutmeg color cabinets, ceramic tile, ceramic and glass block designed backsplash, stainless steel sink and top of the line Moen faucet. Terri truly is a master-designer and the quality products she carries in her showroom make it all the easier to find something you'll fall in love with - I certainly did. It was the exact experience I had hoped for when we engaged a contractor to renovate our kitchen. We even got to select the exact slab of granite that would become our contertop. To select our granite, Terri referred us to a granite showroom where we walked among these 10x10 slabs of beautiful granite. Once we decided which one we wanted we told Terri and she handled the rest. Our unique Verde Garnet granite is one of my favorite design elements of our new kitchen. Al and Terri were very pro-active to address some of the identified potential issues. Their price is a firm price - there is no nickle and dime-ing. So to be best-prepared, they came out to our house and looked at the pipe that seemed to run through our wall. Since we knew we were tearing out at least some of the wall, they opened up a part of that wall and took a look inside (and found it was a solid brick wall). They proposed a solution that we were, and are, very happy with that included leaving a small square beam for support and removing a large 4 foot span of wall, countertop height to ceiling, for a nice pass-thru/breakfast bar area. When it came time to review the contract, I met Terri again at the showroom to accept the final design, review materials selected, review the proposal and price. I signed the contract, put down a small retainer payment and scheduled the start date (July 9). Just before the start of the project Al, Terri and Geoff (the main worker on the job) came out to discuss the plumbing, wall removal, and the overall project. The morning of the project I met Geoff at 8:30 AM, gave him a key and he got to work! Geoff was very meticulous - I think it was the cleanest demo ever performed! Every day while he was working he cleaned up after himself and made sure not to leave sharp tools or materials laying around (which I appreciated with a 2 year old toddler in the house). Geoff worked during the day and occassionally my husband was home before Geoff left. We kept in touch and updated on the progress mostly through a note pad system which worked well in termHe tore out part of the wall, reworked some plumbing (also a master plumber), put down the ceramic tile, coordinated with our electrician, put in the cabinets, and finished the project in about 8 weeks. I had regular contact with Terri and Al and they were quick to address and resolve any of my questions. Final product - it is beautiful and we are very very happy with the new look and redesign of the kitchen.
Description of Work: I hired Terri and Al to redesign, renovate, reconstruct and update my kitchen.

The project started off well, I liked the designer, she was very helpful in picking out tile an fixtures that were in the project budget.the problems began when the crew arrived to demo. they were late - showed up after 9:30.I was informed that this was their standard practice - to show up at 8 at their office to collect their assignments and materials, ant then proceed to the clients site (in rush hour traffic). the crew left around 3:30 - presumably to get back to their office before 5 pm.this continued for the entire project. There were errors in scheduling that ended up with an entire day of no work being done. There was poor scheduling, the plumber and the electrician had entire days to do work, and only took half, so 1/2 days were wasted. the entire project was scheduled to take 2 weeks, it took 4.because of the delay, the crew was in a hurry to get to their next project, so the quality of the finishing touches suffered.the tile in the bathroom is very poorly installed, the surface is uneven, and the grout lines do not line up, and are not the same sizes ( on floor and shower).the kitchen backsplash was very quickly and poorly done, like the bathroom the tile is uneven with badly done grout (I actually had to fill in grout that was missing in places).I had to call the company back in to seal the fixtures in the shower, as the tub faucet was loose, and water was getting behind it.there was no sealant around the backsplash either. One year later (after the warranty had run out) I called the company about the leaking toilet. I was told it was out of warranty but they could send their plumber to fix it. I declined and had a reputable company repair the problem (loose screw which allowed water to leak when flushed). they did clean up after themselves well each day, and took care not to damage the hardwood floors in the rest of the house.Overall the construction appears solid, but the lack of care the company showed for the quality of their work and for my time in particular is why I would not recommend anyone use this company for major work. Update - the plumber I hired to fix the leaky toilet informed me that it was installed incorrectly. either a flange extension should have been used, or the line to the stack updated. I've updated the listing to an F.
Description of Work: Company was contracted to perform a complete gut of my bathroom, and rebuild with tub, tile floor and tub surround, sink, closet and new wider door. ancillary to this project, they were also to re-tile kitchen backsplash.

Response from Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen - Pittsburgh
We were quite surprised to see this report since Member made no complaints when we worked with her last year and expressed satisfaction when the job was finished. Our one year warranty is industry-standard and, of course, when a customer calls we are always happy to refer whatever type of service might be needed. Apparently Ms. Wright wasn't happy to have to pay for a plumber's service call and as a result felt the need to report negatively, which is unfortunate.

I HAVE USED DREAMMAKER IN THE PAST AND THIS EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN NO DIFFERENT. THEIR WORK HAS ALWAYS BEEN TOP NOTCH AND THEIR PRICING REASONABLE FOR THE QUALITY THEY PROVIDE. WE DO NOT ALWAYS GO WITH THE LEAST EXPENSIVE PRICES ON PROJECTS, AS THERE USUALLY IS GOOD REASON FOR THAT. THEY HAVE DONE REFINISHING FOR US IN THE PAST AND THEIR WORKERS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN CURTEOUS , VERY ATTENTIVE TO DETAIL, AND CONCERNED WITH PROPER VENTILATION AND CLEANUP. THESE ARE THINGS THAT ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO US AS WE'VE HAD SOME BAD EXPERIENCES IN THE PAST WITH CERTAIN CONTRACTORS. DREAMMAKER HAS RECENTLY DONE SOME SPECIALTY BATHROOM WORK FOR US AND ONCE AGAIN DID A SUPERIOR JOB AND LEFT THE HOUSE AS WHEN THEY GOT THERE. WE HAVE A POSSIBLE KITCHEN MAKEOVER PLANNED AND DREAMMAKER WILL BE OUR FIRST CALL. I HAVE SEEN THEIR DESIGN WORK , WHICH ALWAYS HAS A FRESH LOOK AND THE INSTALLS HAVE BEEN PROFESSIONALLY DONE. THEIR SHOWROOM IS VERY NICE AND THE DISPLAYS GIVE MANY IDEAS AND OPTIONS .THE THING THAT WE APPRECIATE MOST IS THAT YOU KNOW THERE WILL BE A PROFESSIONAL WHO COMES OUT TO LOOK OVER THE JOB AND ESTIMATE IT PROPERLY , FOLLOWED UP BY COMPETANT, THOUGHTFUL WORKERS AND THAT HAS ALWAYS RESULTED IN A JOB WELL DONE. .

My house in Pittsburgh needed a new kitchen. I called DreamMaker who scheduled an in-home visit within a week. I worked with Terri on a new design and visited their showroom to select my items, flooring, cabinets, countertop, backsplash tile. I was concerned about a negative report I saw, but was comfortable after meeting Al and the other folks there, that they would do the job that I wanted. My project went a little over my budget, but I did choose upgraded cabinets and hardware and some demolition was involved. Once the work started, they job continued through completion, except for the down time after templating countertops, and my delay in settling on a design for an island. Their workers came on time and aside from the normal disruption a project like this does make, they were neat and careful with adjoining rooms. I called during the process if I had questions, and my calls were returned within a reasonable time, if Terri or Al were out of the office when I called. Any doubts I may have had were put to rest once the project got underway. I am extremely happy with the outcome of my project and am glad I chose to go with DreamMaker.

I would not recommend Dream Makers.
Description of Work: My husband and I contacted Dream Makers for a complete kitchen remodel. Terri from Dream Makers came to our home on July 19, 2011. She talked to us about the project and we were enthusiastic about the remodel. We discussed the project in detail and she said she would contact us about the plans and coming to the showroom. After 10 weeks, we haven't heard from them and have decided to go with another company. She knew we were planning to have the work done this fall; I feel that Dream Makers should have contacted us if there was a delay for some reason in getting the plans together. But, 10 weeks is not a reasonable wait time.
