Description of Work: I have a service plan with them so each year they check the heat and cooling units. They clean and service each unit once each year. The cost for 3 years averages to 30 for each service. If something need repaired or emergency service we get a discount for the plan.

+ -1 moreI called Craft on Saturday morning at 7 AM, as the house had no heat. I knew what the issue was, as the control had gone bad multiple times before, and the behavior of the furnace was the same as those previous occurrences. It was repaired before as part of a home warranty we had on the house. Even though I told the technician exactly what the issue was, we were charged a $120 diagnostic fee, which I'm sure only took him 1-2 minutes to find. The really upsetting part though was the price we were charged for the replacement parts. We were charged $230 for a Control Module that could be purchased elsewhere for ~$90-$100, and $80 for an ignitor that also could be purchased elsewhere for ~$30. A complete rip-off, no matter how you cut it. Unfortunately, we couldn't go without heat, as we have an infant in the house, or I would have most definitely not agreed to the charges. I will NOT be calling Craft Heating ever again for service.

+ -1 moreI called and scheduled an appointment for my furnace to be checked for the winter. The appointment was for 7:30 AM - I was to be the first appointment of the day. 7:30 AM came and went and no one showed up. I left the house about 8:10 AM as I had a 9 AM meeting. When I got to the office I called Craft to find out what happened. I was told the service man had reported to the office instead of coming directly to my house. We rescheduled for the following week, again at 7:30 AM. Once again no one showed up. When I got home there was a message on my answering machine to call Craft. No explanation or apology. I have been using Craft for about 15 years and have always been pleased with their service. I don't know what has changed, but obviously it is time for me to find a new heating and air conditioning company.

Description of Work: We have used Craft Heating for nearly 30 years for both heating and air conditioning for our home and my parents' home. Today when I called to schedule a routine inspection of our 2 furnaces for the upcoming winter the woman who answered the phone was unable to give me a possible date for the rest of October or November. I told her the furnaces were working fine and this was just a routine inspection. She still said that I would just have to wait for a call to find out if and when they could fit me in. Even when I asked her if we could set something up tentatively later on she still didn't seem to be interested in my business. I asked her politely if I should seek another provider and she didn't answer or seem concerned. I therefore searched on Angie's List and set up an appointment with a highly rated HVAC company. This is the first time that I have written a negative review on Angie's List. We have been members for years and so far Angie's List is batting 1000. I always write a good review for all the providers we have used. Hopefully that will be true of the new HVAC Co. we will be using.

I waited for the appointment time to come and go and when I called the office numerous times and was given the run around by a female. She finallly said tech did not check in for the day yet. Found out by him he was in a neighboring community on a job all morning. When the tech finally showed up, he blamed the office staff and said he knew nothing about the appointment.He was fine overall. I missed a half a day's work waiting for someone and was lied to by the office. The work was minor. Wanted to suipport a local small business in my community but should have called someone else who really wanted my business. Will never chance it again with this company--can't afford to !
Description of Work: Called for non-working residential furnace. As it turned out the work performed was minor. Tech seemed competent once he got there.
