Chimney Cricket

The contractor scheduled us for service with only 2 days' notice and showed up on-time as agreed. They arrived in a snow-storm, and were very conscious about making sure the snow was cleared from their equipment before they brought it through house. They cleaned the chimney and packed up their gear without leaving so much as a trace of ash anywhere. They also were able to ask me whether I knew how to operate the fireplace properly without making me feel foolish when I told them I had never had a working fireplace before. They took time before they left to give me some advice and made sure that I was comfortable operating the flu. Overall I was very impressed with the level of professionalism and the concern they showed for keeping my property clean. Will use them again in the future.

Came to my house and cleaned the chimney

We'd been meaning to light some fires as things got chilly in the winter, but we bought our house in the spring and it hadn't been occupied for a while before that, so we did not know the state of the chimney. We called Chimney Cricket so we could get the chimney cleaned for sure and possibly repaired if there were any issues. They set an appointment for the next day, which was a pleasant surprise. They came over, inspected things (which were fine but dirty, thankfully), laid down drop cloths, cleaned the chimney and explained to us how to open and close it when we lit fires. They didn't leave behind a mess, were prompt and courteous. All in all, satisfied with the job for the price and we will likely use them again next time we need a cleaning.

They were on time, had a chimney cap with them and installed it, sealed flashing, did a general check of the rest of the roof and made recommendations for future preventive management. All completed in < 1 hour.

All went very well. I had no problem setting up the appointment for several days after my call and they arrived right when they said they would. I did ask on the phone if they needed to come out and give me an estimate first and they said no the cost would be $169.00. They did a nice job and they had to put some bricks under the crate to rise it up a little to get a better flow of air into the damper I asked if there was a charge for the bricks - they said no. But when it came to pay the bill, the cost was $179.00 (although I did get $20 off for mentioning Angie's list), because they said this was my first time using them. They did not mention that when I called to set up the appointment that the fee was higher if you had not used them before. I have a feeling I did pay for those bricks. But overall, I would recommend them. There was no cleanup on my end which was great, and it only took them a short time to complete.

I had been told my chimney needed re-pointed because I had some damage inside the house. I have waited since summer for someone to do it and it hasn't happened. I was now worried there would be more damage inside because of the weather. Chimney Cricket advised that I would be okay until spring. I definitely feel better now and thank them.

Communication with the provider is very easy, and they were responsive. They came a couple of days after our first call to look at the work to be done, adjusting to my own schedule requirements. I set up the job mid-week and a couple of days later they showed up on time and did the job. I needed a flue pipe for venting a water heater, and the job looks solid, even as the chimney is not in prime condition. Overall it was a very positive experience.

I contacted Chimney Cricket to take a look at repairing a leaky chimney. Not only did they NOT go up to the roof to look at the chimney when giving me a quote, but from a distance where they could not see the chimney they quoted me $2100 to "point and cap" something that a) does not have exposed brick and b) just had a cap put on. Needless to say I did not utilize their services.

They were very professional, quick, and left the place as clean as when they came.

The team arrived on time and did the job quickly. Professional and kind.

Came to job site, looked at work and suggested I contact them in the spring. The work was not in urgent need of repairs.

Did very nice work and cleaned up perfectly. The cost was very fair. There were 3 men and they worked very efficiently. I will certainly call Chimney Cricket again for their services. They even came earlier than scheduled, and called and asked if it was OK to come a little earlier

the men from chimney cricket did a fine job. they cleaned and inspected our chimney, and repaired some cracks in the bricks in the back of the firebox. i was not available when the men started their work, and i arrived after my husband had already paid the men and they were gone. i was not thrilled that the drop cloth that was used was about the size of a twin bed sheet. i had a lot of cleaning to do. i would certainly use them again, however, now i know to request a larger drop cloth.

He was great! They were incredibly prompt and professional. They had a cancelation and fit me in same day for the sweep call. We opted to use them for the recommended repairs. They did a great job and our chimney looks like new. I would definitely call again and would most certainly recommend them.

When I noticed a dead animal smell coming from the fireplace, I realized the birds had fallen down the chimney & died. I called Chimney Cricket & they said they could be here in the next hour. They arrived on time & were very careful about putting tarps down over my cream colored carpet before beginning to clean the fireplace. They did a very thorough cleaning of the fireplace. I was very impressed with their professionalism & will use them again for routine service.

Came within a few days of my call for a cleaning. Arrived on time and went to work immediately. With two of them working it only took 15 - 20 minutes. They seem to have done the job well and were very professional and friendly. I would definitely use them again.

Called and got immediately scheduled with in 3 days....They arrived on time..and immediately started to work...They cleaned (2) chimneys (basement & living room)...it was a crew of 2...an older gentleman & a younger man....They may have been the father & son team the other reviews mentioned.....But I found the older gentleman (who did all the talking) hard to understand because he spoke with a heavy accent...I did not find him/them friendly or informative...I found that rather matter of fact....I knew that the basement/gameroom damper needed repaired...I did not get a choice of the replacement, only the same one that others reviews mentioned....the one that is attached to the top of the chimney cap?...and cost over $500...no other options were offered/suggested....He did give me the Angie's list $20 discount per chimney.....They did cover the living room rug and basement floor w/large black cloth and there was no dirt after they left....But what I did find when I came up from the basement to the living room was the older gentleman "dragging" one of my living room chairs across my hard wood floors...(Not happy about that)....I felt that I was not given any options on the damper and caps.....I had caps on the chimney, but was told they were no good...I feel they cleaned the chimneys very well....Just not sure about the cost of the new damper and necessary caps.....But I have nothing to compare the costs to.....By the looks of the reviews by others this type of damper seems to be his damper of choice and has them in his truck......I did not see any reviews by other sweeps mentioning this type of damper....I am planning on selling the house in a year or two so I wanted to make sure the chimney/fireplaces are safe.....

I was happy with the service. Mr. Kemal Dziho responded in a timely manner,Upon inspection, he came to my home, inspected and discussed the work needed. He gave a written estimate. My chimney had bricks in needed of resetting and pointing, as well as the flashing in need of sealing. When the date was set, the company arrived on time and proceeded to work quickly and efficiently. The price was reasonable! I recommend this company for chimney repair.

All went well. They did the job while we were out. They were quick and efficient.

Was able to make an appointment easily. Within half an hour had chimney swept and fire box cleaned. No mess as they used an industrial vacuum. They took time to answer my questions.

Chimney Cricket's team were tidy, thorough, prompt and amazing quickly. Might have taken 30 minutes max.

I called on Friday to schedule a chimney sweeping. They were able to fit me in on the next business day (Mon). They arrived on time, were done in about a half hour, and cleaned up nicely. I'm very happy with the work.

They installed 2 stainless steel chimney caps. The process could not have been easier. The team was great.

I called on Friday, they came out and gave me an accurate, low-cost estimate. They came this morning, on time, and did the work in an hour. I'm very happy with it. I'm glad I joined Angie's List!
