There was a leak inside the fireplace. The chimney crown was cracked and cap was deteriorated. Repaired crown and replaced cap.

The two employees showed up on time. They inspected my fireplace and chimney and found no issues. They vacuumed up ash from the fireplace.

Chimney Cricket was prompt and performed the necessary work. When they got up to the chimney, they found what my wife and I suspected that they chimney cap had deteriorated. All the work was done in a couple of hours. They cleaned up after the work and you wouldn't know that they were here.

I am very happy with the professional, prompt and courteous service provided by Chimney Cricket. They got in contact with me promptly, scheduled a time and completed the work in a timely manner.

Chimney Sweep arrived at 9:15am, inspected fireplace and chimney, stated chimney needed a cap installed and swept total $550. I approved the repair, after sweeping chimney I was now told chimney needed repair to top, mesh and cementing required to repair cracks, price now $1100 dollars, they said they had time today to repair. I approved. At 10:15 only 30 minutes later the repair was completed. Clearly no one charges an hourly rate of $1100 dollars, I expected the repairs to take hours based on the explanation of repairs, clearly I was overcharged, house is a ranch and the roof pitch is slight and easy to walk on been up there myself many times. Be sure you are getting what you are paying for before hiring.

I sent Chimney Cricket an email with pictures (see pictures) describing that I needed a chimney cap repair. He responded back the same day saying "due to the pitch of the roof and the height of the chimney we would not be able to reach it with our ladders" I emailed him back asking how do people with chimneys like ours get them fixed and he replied a day later saying that " I typically recommend contacting roofers for challenging chimney caps as they can typically put one on, and have more ways to access the chimney. As far as the bucket truck we have used it before, the cost typically is between $600-$1,000 to rent it. I thanked him for his help and looked further. It makes one wonder why architects design buildings where a fix for a $10 dollar part requires a $600-$1000 bucket truck.

This is the 2nd time we've had Chimney Cricket to our house - the first time was about 5 years ago to install a cap and to clean the chimney. Today we had a chimney damper installed because our old one was letting cold air in. The job was completed quickly and the house is perfectly clean after the install. It's great that they had the materials on hand so that we didn't have to schedule a different date for installation. The company employees are knowledgable and nice people. We would definitely recommend them.

They were extremely punctual. I called New Years Eve. They called back New Year’s Day and came the very next day exactly when they said they would. They quickly identified the problem and replaced the broken damper and cleared ice that had accumulated on the chimney. They did a complimentary check on our gas log fireplace. I highly recommend them.

They were very punctual and got straight to their business. They swept and vacuumed the chimney inside. When they left, the flue was closed. A few days ago, I opened it and a fair amount of ash came tumbling out? Seemed they didn't clean it very well, as they stuck the sweep up only once. I believe if they had done it a second time it would have cleared away much more debris. They said they "visually" inspected the chimney outside (two stories up), but never took a ladder to inspect....which I would have expected them to do for an inspection? Were at my home not more than 20 min. Disappointed. Will probably not have back.

I hired Chimney Cricket to do a chimney sweep and inspection at my house. I called a few providers and the price was fairly similar across the board. I went with Chimney Cricket because they had solid ratings on this site. Let me start by saying it's hard to judge the quality of someone inspecting and sweeping your chimney. I will say I was a little discouraged by the extent of the inspection. He really just shined a flashlight up from the bottom for all of 2 minutes. I know some companies do a little more extensive inspection with cameras and the like. Post inspection, I was told I needed a chimney cap installed on my chimney and it would cost an extra $250 to do it. I declined, as this seemed an excessive amount of money for a job that may take 20 minutes and part that might cost $50. The sweeping and inspection process took all of 15 minutes. I guess for the money I spent, I thought the process would be a little more comprehensive and exhaustive. $190 later and I'm really not much more assured of the shape my chimney is in and I can't tell how clean it is. I guess my suggestion here would be to ask up front about the inspection process and know what you will be receiving for the money you spend.

Excellent. We purchased a new home and had them inspect and clean our fireplace and liner. They were punctual and very professional. They also found that part of our chimney had been capped and upon further inspection found that our water heater was not vented at all and was breathing Carbon Monoxide back into the house. They installed a new liner and properly vented it for me. Would recommend them to anyone, especially after finding the Carbon Monoxide and protecting my family.
