After all of my concerns, and all of my proof, no one will talk to me. I have signed a contract and was going to spend $11,100 on a porch, but they do not care. They assured me the porch would be in by November. The salesman had told me I was scheduled the week of Thanksgiving. The installation manager had no idea about this. When I spoke with him, he told me my room was scheduled to come in after Thanksgiving. The salesman blatantly lied to me. How were they going to install my room, when it wasn't even in yet? This whole time, they had been telling me it was in. Champion Window claims their warranty is so good. They guarantee their windows for life. If this is the trouble we have now, are these really the people you'd want working on your windows for life?
Description of Work: On the 27th of August, we have an 8 x 32ft porch. We called Champion windows to see how much it would cost for a window. They gave us a quote for a single glass pane window for $10,000. He suggested we get a double-paned window glass because it was insulated. I called him on the 28th and let him know I wanted to make it a double pane window. I had already signed a contract for a single pane window. He said that he would get an addendum right out to me. On the third day, I called another company, who came out. They recommended I not get that style of window for my porch. It was only a 3 season room, and it would get too much condensation if I added heat with a double pane window. Champion Window told me I did not have to worry about too much condensation. Champion Window also told me that it would be okay as long as I installed all of the ceiling fans that I was planning to. We decided to go on with the project, and I was told it would take 10 weeks. That would take us until the end of October. He proceeded to order my porch. We kept talking about meeting. He kept telling me we would meet tomorrow, but he would never get ahold of me. I was about to go out of town for a week, so I stopped by the office to sign the addendum. They told me to come by on Saturday to sign the addendum and see the room. He promised me that if no one was there, the information would be laid out for me to see. I went there on Saturday, and no one was there. I called him and asked him where it was, he told me he would get it to me that next day. I never heard from him. I then left for vacation for a week. The day I got back I called him, he told me the room was coming. This was 3 weeks after I had signed the original contract. He told me he would air mail me the addendum, he did, I signed it and sent it back. He kept telling me that my room was in, and it wasn't a big deal to sign my addendum. He treated it as more of a formality. Some time passed, I called and started pressing Joey, the salesman, in the beginning of November. I pressed him as to when I was getting my room done. He told me he spoke to the installation manager, Frank, and I was scheduled for the Monday the week of Thanksgiving. I haven't trusted anything that I've been told because I've been lied to up to this point. I called the office and asked to speak with Frank. He was not in, so the receptionist went in the back to look at the appointment board and did not see any appointment for me. I tried to get ahold of Frank for the next couple of days and wasn't able to get ahold of him. He never returned my call. I finally got ahold of him and he said that they should be receiving my room sometime after Thanksgiving and that they would then get me scheduled. He tried to work with me and see when he could get the room in, and he told me it would be after Thanksgiving. I wanted it done by Thanksgiving. I had already done all of the electrical work on the porch and everything else that needed to be done. I decided to go above his head and speak with the branch manager. I asked Frank for the number of his boss. He had been texting me back pretty regularly, but when I asked for the number, it took him 30 minutes to text me back. I then called the branch manager, and before I could get a sentence out, he interrupted me and told me the problem was that I changed my contract after I signed it. I let him know that I changed it the next day and had been pushing the salesman to get me the addendum to update the contract. I explained what all had happened to him and he proceeded to put all of the blame on me. He ignored the fact that his salesman had blatantly lied to me. I spoke with him the next day and let him know my concerns about my porch and how it was not even ordered yet and they were beyond their contract. They didn't submit my addendum until the 31st of October. The salesman and I had an agreement that the addendum would have the same date as the original contract of August 27th. The branch manager put me on speaker phone and I could hear the salesman in the background speaking with the manager. He kept telling me he was going to make things right. I kept telling him I didn't want the room at this point. I asked for my $1,000 deposit back and to just cancel the contract. They refused to refund my $1,000. I told them I was going to hire an attorney, but they kept insisting they would make it right. I insisted he put something in writing saying that he was going to make it right. I then decided to go to corporate. I emailed them several times and never heard anything back. I then went back and spoke to the branch manager, Roberto, and he agreed to install my porch. He told me it would be installed later this week. I called corporate again and spoke with Amy Frey. She told me the same thing that Roberto had told me that my contract was submitted on the 31st of October. I explained my frustrations to her that I had paid extra for the double paned window for a total of $11,100. She was not acting very concerned about my experience and acted like it was my fault. She refused to do anything. She didn't know my side of the story, but once I told her, she promised she would get to the bottom of it and would call me back the next day. This was on the 20th. I still have not heard anything from them.
