I always wanted this sewing chest of my grandmother's and my mom never would give it up. She finally did when she decided to move to an apartment. While carrying it to my car, I dropped it, and the wood on one side broke. I thought I could glue it together, but didn't have the proper tools to allow the glue to set. I called Bob after finding him in Angie's list. We agreed on a time for me to bring the chest to him. He gave me a good price to fix and clean up the chest. It was done several days before he said it would be. I picked it up and am so pleased. It looks better than when I broke it.
Description of Work: Bob repaired and refinished an old sewing chest that was my Grandmothers.

Its always a pleasure to work with Bob. Because these items were small I was able to take them to Bob for repair. He quoted me a fair price, said they'll be done in two weeks and I left knowing that the work would be beautiful. They were done right on time and were certainly beautiful. I'm already thinking about my next project and how Bob might be involved!
Description of Work: This is the second time I had Bob do work for me. The first occasion was two dressers and two night stands. The most recent work involved sanding and re-staining the top of a coffee table and a Jasper secretary leaf. Both of these items had the finish damaged from something solvent-like.

He was fabulous. We took the furniture to him. He didn't come to the house. He did a fabulous job. It was outstanding. It was reasonably priced, it was within the time frame I needed it in, and it was excellent work. It was so good we dropped off 4 wooden kitchen chairs. He re-glued them and refinished them. They came out excellent too.
Description of Work: Bob Lewicke Furniture Refinishing refinished a dresser and two side stands for us. He took off all the hardware and refinished them in the same color as the original.

Couldn't be happier. My wife had a Kitchen table she wanted refinished. She had treated it years ago with some wood treatment that a furniture store sold her and it ruined the table. I found Bob on Angies List and was hopeful based on his recent reviews. I told him about my problem and a few days later he had stopped over my house to look at the table. He ended up taking the table and told me it would be about 2 weeks. His plan was to sand the table, restain to match the original color and add some protectant on top. 2 weeks later, I received a call from Bob telling me the table was finished. He delivered the table to my house and man does it look good. It actually looks like a brand new table. My wife couldn't be happier. Bob was very professional, great to work with and best of all, reasonably priced. I will definitely use him in the future.

Bob did a very nice job of refinishing and reparing a mahogany piano stool (age unknown, but it has been in our family for at least 60 years). I thought the price was very reasonable, and he delivered it in the timetable he promised. He even called me during the job to make sure the color of the refinishing was what I wanted. Overall it was a very satisfactory experience and I would definitely call him again.

Bob picked up our work and gave us a cost estimate at the time of pickup. He told us it would be cheaper if we picked up and/or delivered. Size would limit our options and maybe his too. The final cost never exceeded his estimate. He is located in the Lawerenceville area I believe.
Description of Work: Bob has done two pieces for us this last year; a deacons bench and a drop leaf coffee table that over 30 years has been thru 4 children, two dogs, a cat and young guests too numerous to mention. He did a great job and we plan to send him more work and some referrals.

I had joined Angie’s list in order to find a reputable furniture refinisher. I was impressed by Bob's ratings and the comments from his customers. I contacted Bob and explained what I wanted done. I had indicated that it would be no problem for me to bring the chest to him. He gave me a firm estimate when I brought in the chest. I was hoping to have the chest finished before the holidays in order to surprise my wife. Given his backlog of work he indicated that he thought it could be done in time but he didn’t want to make a firm promise. I had no problem with that given the proximity to the holidays. I left the chest with him and in 10 days he called and said it was ready for pickup! This gave me plenty of time to pick up the chest prior to the holidays. I am very pleased with the results as is my wife.
Description of Work: Refinished cedar chest (aproximately 18"H x 20"D x 54"L) Work included removing old finish, repairing a crack on the lid, staining & varnishing exterior of the chest and cleaning / polishing all hardware.

Bob had earlier done several small jobs for us very well and at a very reasonable price. Bob is responsive, prompt, courteous and very, very good at what he undertakes. He is also honest about what he can and can't do.
Description of Work: After our move to a differently configured space, a chair that had needed regluing, a small table with a marred top, and a long-neglected 48" chest, which needed to be completely refinished, all needed work. Bob came when called, carried them away, and returned them in like-new condition.

The table turned out beautifully. I decided, with Bob's help, to use a satin finish on the table, which turned out to be a wonderful recommendation. The table is exquisite, and with the soft finish it looks like the elegant and antique piece it was originally. Bob was punctual with both the time for the estimate and delivery of the table. My daughter who lives in Virginia was here when he delivered the table, and is going to bring bedsteads that belonged to my mother up here for Bob to refinish! I couldn't be more pleased with this experience. Bob is going to refinish my dining room table, which has suffered "the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" through the years. The price for the work on the pie crust table was very reasonable, and the estimate for the dining room table is also.
Description of Work: Bob completely refinished an antique pie crust table that had moisture damage, chips and markings, and one claw shaped foot had been chewed by a dog.

The request was just for re-gluing....but at no additional cost he made sure all the seats fit properly and also cleaned the chairs. We have nothing but good things to say. He was prompt in turning around the job, kept to his word on price and did a very nice job.

He is a master at it and he fixed the table so well that you would not even notice the work. He brought up some design in the pie table that I did not even know about because it was very old. The price was very good.

Everything went really well. Bob picked up the table and we agreed that he'd have it for 2-3 weeks. We talked on the phone about how the crack could be handled and agreed not to use any kind of putty, but to do the best that he could on minimizing the crack. Can't say that I know how he did it, but it sure looks good.
Description of Work: Bob stopped by to look at a drop-leaf table that had belonged to my great-grandmother. We discussed options on refinishing. He took the table and refinished the top, the drop leaves, the legs and the small drawer. He also was able to greatly reduce a crack that was on the top, probably caused by dry-rot. He also was able to remove 2 deep water stains that had been on the table for years.

I called Bob and he was available already the next day for consultation. As he lived nearby, and I could fit the chair in my car, I brought it to his workshop. He gave me an estimate and the job was completed prior to the expected finish date - less than a week. Since I brought and picked up the chair the job was also less expensive.

I called Bob after reading his excellent reviews and he returned my call promptly. He gave me the option of bringing the chairs to him which I did. In one week, the chairs were ready for pickup. The results were remarkable because it is evident that he is a craftsman who pays attention to every detail, which was appreciated. He is one of the most competent and knowledgeable contractors that I have ever met.
Description of Work: Bob refinished two dining room arm chairs, and then changed these two arm chairs to armless chairs. The work was so excellent that there was no visible evidence that arms were ever on these two chairs. I am so impressed with the workmanship that I am taking two more chairs to him in the near future.

Bob came to give me an estimate on the day I called him. He returned the three pieces within 2 weeks and I was very pleased with his work. The claw table came out beautiful! It is restored to it's original beauty and is now a focal point in my living room. I couldn't believe how beautiful the natural wood on the carved chair looked when he was finished. The chair seat is as good as new.
Description of Work: Bob refinished one claw table that was very worn with tarnished hardware. He also refinished an oak chair with a carved back that had many coats of thick white paint on it. The seat had split and he repaired it so no one wold ever know there was any damage at all. He also polished a very tarnished copper tub with lid.

The job went very well. I had one quote for the job at $1600!!! Bob was very easy to deal with. He came to my home to give me an estimate, returned the next day to pick up the pieces, and completed the job in a week. The table looks beautiful, and the chairs are sturdy. He even did a small household job (removed a shelf and bracket) as a favor when he brought the pieces back. I would definitely call him again for this type of work.

The first experience with Bob was the dining room chairs. He re-glued them and then refinished the wooden frames. Then he found Betty to re-upholster them. The price was right and his work was excellent. So we kept giving him other refinishing projects to do. We are not finished. We have some new bifold doors for him to finish next.
Description of Work: Bob did a series of jobs for us. He refinished three tables, seven dining room chairs, and two bar stools. He doesn't do upholstering but found a woman in his neighborhood who does an excellent job herself. The two teamed up to save us a ton of money on the dining room chair project.
