BOB LEWICKE FURNITURE REFINISHING

I called Bob in the middle of the week. He picked up right away and we arranged to bring the table to his workshop on the following Saturday. His workshop in Lawrenceville was easy to find and he has a small parking area that made it easy to back our truck up to the work shop door. Bob is very laid back and friendly. He agreed to refinish the top only though he said that it might not be a perfect match. I was willing to accept that in order to save some money. He said it would be ready in about a week. I called on the following Saturday and the table wasn't done which was fine, I had told him I was in no rush. He called later the next week and I picked up the table yesterday. I could not be more pleased. The finish is actually a perfect match. I'm so pleased with the job he did on it.

Bob has repaired 4 chairs for me, at a good price and in a timely manner and with suitable results.

We have an old fashioned dining room cabinet that was parked in my parents basement forever and then another 10 years in our basement. It was very poorly treated and was a wreck...the wood was dry, marked and stained. Bob came highly recommended on Angie's list and our experience in general with the list has been favorable. So I called Bob and got him right away...forwarded a pic on-line and described the piece over the phone. Bob didn't have any qualms about quoting the work....the quote ultimately became the actual price so we're happy with that. This quote by the way was way better than others and made a huge difference in us moving ahead with refinishing. I was actually two steps away from junking the piece despite any sentimental value. Bob is a delight to work with...easy going and cooperative. Our experience was fun! He showed us other pieces and discussed them. We are delighted now to have a beautiful piece of furniture whose color stain matches other dining room pieces (looks good, Bob!). It's got family history and can now be passed down through the family with pride. Good show!

After finding Bob in Angie's List, I called him and he was available very quickly. We took the pieces to his workshop since we had a vehicle big enough to cart them to him, although he would have picked them up if we had asked. He quoted an extremely reasonable price for the work, and gave us a timeframe for completion. The work was completed per his original timeframe estimate. All of the furniture looked like new! Bob is a real find! We have already taken an antique table to him for a total refinish.

We brought the piece to Bob. He gave us a great price. Actually I had another price much, much higher and was considering forgetting having it refinished. I went on Angies List and read some of Bob's reviews about how good and reasonable he was. He did the piece in two weeks. We picked it up and are enjoying it. Bob was great.

I called Bob and he said he could do the job but that I would have to drop off the chair since it was such a small job. I dropped off the chair on a Saturday morning and he explained how he would fix it. He said he would probably start it right away. The very next morning - barely 24 hours later - he called to say it was done. The fix is barely noticeable and I was very pleased with the results. I was especially happy with the quick turnaround and the affordability of Bob's work.

I called several businesses to see if they would refinish the top and front of my piano which had been damaged by an oil spill. The oil had spilled and set for a month before I noticed It. By then the finish was destroyed. It then sat for a few years. No one would touch it. Bob was quite prompt and the work was done within a week as promised? The finish matches the rest of the piano and looks fantastic! The price was so reasonable that I had him refinish the bench and the top of my hope chest. They are equally as beautiful. I am so thrilled to have my piano back. It look so beautiful and it is once again a cherished piece in my family room.

Bob, refinishing a spool cabinet that was in poor condition and it turned out better than I could of hoped for, it looks great. He was easy to work with and did and unbelievable job!

This wasn't exactly what Bob normally does, but he was very willing to have a carpenter make the necessary piece for the drawer and then he stained it. It looks good and no-one would know it was broken at one time. He repaired the chair arms and they feel very solid now, no wiggle at all. We appreciated his flexibility. He did things in a timely manner and was easy to get a hold of. We felt his price was fair. We would use him again.

He took the desk and bench first. The bench was quite wobbly and had been exposed to the weather at various times. When he returned them, they looked great together and the bench was strong and sturdy. He worked with my schedule and was able to pick up and deliver since I didn't have a vehicle large enough to do this. The dresser had previously been painted. He didn't have the equipment to strip paint, but was able to suggest a place that does chemical stripping. Once it had been stripped, he refinished it to match the desk and dresser and only charged me the difference between what he would have charged for a total strip and refinish and what the stripping place charged. It looks like a much nicer piece of furniture now than what it actually is and the drawers slide nice and easy. Bob truly restores the furniture, not just refinishes. He made sure nothing was wobbly anymore, all handles were well attached, and all drawers had proper stops, so they don't go beyond where they're supposed to stop.

Both projects went wonderfully. Couldn't ask for any more.

I called Bob during the last week of June 2012 and described the project. He was very informative and gave me an approximate quote over the phone. While he does provide pick-up service, it was more convenient for me to deliver the piece to his shop in Lawrenceville. I brought the table top to Bob shortly before the 4th of July. On July 9th, he called to inform me that the piece was finished. I was very impressed with his work, but more importantly, my wife was very pleased with his work! It is refreshing to find a craftsman as friendly and as professional as Bob. I learned that he is a retired city policeman who enjoys golf, but also enjoys woodworking. He is very down-to-earth and his price was very fair and identical to the phone quote he had given me. We would definitely refer Bob to any of our friends and will certainly use his services in the future. P.S. In this day of contracts, long legal documents, etc., it was most refreshing to do business with a gentleman on a handshake!

We had another local company come to look at the table. We literally waited 6 months for them to come and take the table away to work on it, and I called them repeatedly and asked for updates. They assured me every time that they would be here and quot;soonand quot;. Finally, in frustration, I turned to Angies List and found Bob's name. He returned my call immediately, came to the house within a day or two after wefirst spoke, took the broken pedestal with him, and returned and re-affixed in in just a couple of days. His bill? $75.00! It doesn't get any better than this. I would definitely recommend Bob and would use him again.

Great! He refinished the pieces at his shop in Lawrenceville. He gave us a fair price, did the job on the timetable promised and the results are beautiful. The table looks better than when it was purchased and is steady as a rock. I gave him a sofa table to refinish on the day this project was done! We are having lots of projects done at our house this summer and it is refreshing to have somebody who gives you an accurate estimate on both price and time AND does a great job.I highly recommend Bob!

I found Bob Lewicke's name on Angie's List and was impressed with the uniformly strong reviews. Having made arrangements with Bob, I dropped-off the table top and leaves at his place. The refinishing took two weeks, and was very well done. The table top looks like new.

The veneer dining room table had severe discoloration, scratches, dents and many, many round stains from (sweating) cold soda cans, so much that it was difficult to determine the original color. (Before it came to us, it was used as a workbench during a remodeling project and was planned to be scrapped.) Bob sanded and refinished the surface, removing all of the problem areas. Bob matched the color and finish to a china closet door that we provided for reference. It looks brand new and is beautiful!

The chairs look like new, though they are over 30 years old. The table leaves blend into the table very well. Bob is a true craftsman, and takes pride in his work. We would recommend him highly.

I referred a co-worker who had a great experience with Bob, so when I had a piece to refinish I had a good idea what I was in for. Bob takes the time to explain what he can (and can't) do, gives you options, and then was willing to finish a section of the piece - a drawer in this case - to confirm what he proposed. Once we were all set he finished the work quickly. The credenza looks really great. Bob is a great guy and a pleasure to deal with. When I have more work like this I will use Bob again.

Bob saw us promptly and explained his operation. Bob presented options including a solution that cut cost to almost a third of complete refinish. He was clear about tradeoffs between techniques. He provided a sample on one of the table leaves that was what we wanted. First meeting to completion took no more than five weeks - also significantly less than other quotes. We are very satisfied with the service and results.

The pieces were finished beautifully. The work was quick and professional. Bob worked with our schedule and even helped load and unload the pieces. We went back with our kitchen chairs. He glued everything tight and did another great job refinishing them. Definitely would recommended him (and we already have) and take additional pieces to him.

Bob refinished my dining room table with two leaves. He offered to refinish one leaf at no charge initially. He refinished the leaf , asked for me to inspect and approve. It looked good, so he was hired to complete the table and additional leaf. He did an excellent job. As a result, I had him refinish three other antique tables of mine and again, he did a great job. I would use him again. His prices were fair and workmanship excellent.One

I called Bob to refinish some antique furniture that had been on my wife's side of the family for decades. The furniture had been in storage for 20 plus years and was languishing in our basement in deteriorating condition. He came to our home and asked us specific questions about our expectations and preferences. He refinished a chest of drawers, a dresser with mirror, head and foot boards for a bed and a small desk. He took one piece at a time over a period of 15 weeks.Each time he returned with pieces that more than met our expectations. My wife was elated by the work. We have since relocated the furniture to our retirement farm in Oklahoma where it has been brought back into use. We are years from retirement but can enjoy the furniture now during our vacations. Bob is an honest man who quoted us a fair price and delivered on that price. He even advised us that our desk was inexpensively made and economically not worth doing. Since it was an heirloom we had him refinish it anyway. It is great to be able to re-utilize furniture that had been used by previous generations and will be passed on to future generations.

I took the chairs to Bob's shop. In about a week, he called to say the job was finished.

The cost was about $20 more than I had wanted to pay but I'm sure I would have paid more than $100 somewhere else. The final product was worth that $20. I'm very happy how it turned out. I justified the cost since I didn't have to pay for the table.
