Bob does excellent, high-quality refinishing - our furniture looks beautiful. He charged a very fair price, one that seemed so reasonable to us that we didn't bother to get additional estimates. In making that decision, we were essentially putting complete trust in the other reviews we saw on Angie's List, and fortunately we found that all the good things you read here about Bob's business are true. He was very responsive to our phone calls, he showed up on-time every time he said he would, disassembled and transported the pieces to his shop, completed the work when he said he would, and delivered everything back to us. He's also a very nice man. I recommend his service with no hesitation.

Bob was extremely meticulous in his work so we asked him to repair the scratched wood on our kitchen and bath room cabinets and to glue the wood on a marble top table that has been in my family for generations. The weight of the marble had caused the wood to bow and leave openings between the joints. Our cabinets now look new and the marble top table should be good for another few generations. I would unconditionally recommend Bob and the quality of his work,
Description of Work: After a long weekend away, we returned home to find that one of our otherwise perfect kitties had thrown up a hairball on our mahogany dining room table. I went on-line to find the best way to remove the hair ball, etc. and what products to use. After sporadically working on the soiled area over a period of a few days I decided to hire someone who knew what they were doing. The first name I found with high ratings was that of Bob Lewicke. Bob didn't disappoint. Short of refinishing the entire table, which we decided wasn't necessary, Bob did an excellent job of restoring the table surface. Ir would take a detective working in the right light to find the affected area.

The piece turned out great! It was a bigger piece roughly, 40 " L x 36" H x 24" D. I was charged $300 for the piece and it looks really nice.
Description of Work: Bob refinished a kitchen hutch that was my great grandmothers. The piece had good bones, but was badly in need of a re-finishing job. Bob was very easy to work with and extremely reasonable in price.

Bob did a good job repairing the gouges. While still noticeable, they were much better than when we brought the furniture to him. The surface scratches virtually disappeared. Bob wet sanded the top of the dresser and applied a new varnish coat, which was a nice touch. He was easy to work with.

The timeframe for the work was fine and it was easy to communicate with Bob via cellphone. Bob ended up doing a great job at a reasonable price. He's definitely now our "go-to" guy for future furniture work.
Description of Work: A wooden desk chair needed structural repair as well as refinishing. This chair had been my father's which he used for many years at his desk in his study and it was of considerable sentimental value to me. We found Bob through Angie's list and brought the chair to his shop.

All of the pieces came out beautifully. The doors were originals from the house dating back to 1900 and had taken lots of abuse over the years. After the refinishing with strong lacquer and the proper stain, they look perfect and add a nice touch whenever you pass by them. The oak table with its 7 add-in leaves also came out perfectly. It was a real pleasure to deal with Bob, because he loves his work and strives for quality. Update on the job he did last December 14, 2024: It went very good, excellent, on time and everything was perfect. It was easy to deal with him.

This was the best service, quality, price I have ever had for ANYTHING! He came to pick up the table from our house. Was super prompt and explained everything in detail. He brought the table back sooner than promised (less than 2 weeks). The table looks AMAZING!!!! Bob is the best and so professional. We have already hired him to do our next project.

Bob did a very nice job of repairing the hole smashed through the 1/4" veneered back. He stabilized the area with a reinforcing wood patch on the back of the piece and then was able to meld the frayed edges of the damaged area from the front. Beautiful repair work.

SInce I live many miles from Bob, he worked with me and we met at a convenient location right in the middle for both of us! He worked in a timely manner on my furniture and I got my furniture back quickly. I will recommend Bob to all my friends and will use him again.
Description of Work: Bob strengthened and refinished a Mission Rocking Chair for me. He also fixed a double rocking chair and fixed a dining room chair for me. I will definitely use him again. The price he quoted was the price he charged me even though I know he had to pay extra for some of the work he had completed.

Excellent service. Bob was very upfront and honest about how much work he might need to do for the repair. We had done most of the sanding of the old finish before the support rods on the rocker had been broken. I didn't need to have them restored to their original condition, and he admitted that would cost a bit more, but he would let me know before he proceeded if the agreed upon price would be higher. He replaced the broken support rods with plain dowels and it looks great. The whole rocker looks beautiful and it will be a Christmas gift to my son and daughter-in-law for them to use in our first grandson's bedroom. I would highly recommend Bob for any furniture refinishing or repair jobs.

I found Bob's re-finishing on Angie's List as my table was a real eyesore. I must have used the wrong product or too much of a lacquer as the surface had become sticky. With that, dust & crumbs seemed to adhere to it. Bob got back to me the same day after I had left a message. I'm very familiar with his location in the Lawrenceville section of the city, but I lack a vehicle large enough to take my table there. Thankfully he was willing to drive out to Gibsonia on along Route 8 & get it. He evaluated the table & gave me a price which I agreed to. He gave a 3 or 4-week estimate to complete the job, but brought it back in two weeks. It looked as nice as the day I first got it over 30 years ago. He sanded-out some marks, removed the tackness of the finish, and put on the right amount of lacquer so that it's quite smooth. He explained to me the steps he took, but it was mostly lost on me. The bottom line is that it's vastly improved. I gave him two other smaller pieces to take back for some TLC.

I found on u tube how to fix heat marks on the kitchen and dining room tables. put a cloth down and run a steam iron over the cloth. it's amazing. the white heat spot disappears. if it doesn't work the first time, try it again until it's gone.y

I contacted Bob through Angie's List and spoke to him a couple of times to set a date and time to look at my door. He told me my door was pretty weathered on the outside but reassured me he could perform the job. After 3 days, Bob returned the door looking brand new. We went with a darker stain on the outside and a lighter stain on the inside to match the trim. Bob did an awesome job and I'm so happy I went this route. He saved me $500 for the cost of replacing it with a new door. Bob is very knowledgable and meticulous in his craft. He's my go to guy for any future wood working projects.
