If you are downsizing, moving out of state, inheriting an estate, or just need help or advice on liquidating your items, we will be glad to help ease the stressful burden of deciding what to do with all your treasures. Before You Move an experienced provider of complete turnkey estate and home liquidation services. Whether you are moving or liquidating an estate of a loved one Before You Move will assist you in preparing your home for the real estate market. To help you do this, Before You Move will provide estate sale consultation, prepare your home and price items selected for liquidation, and provide packing service for items not sold. After the estate sale takes place, Before You Move will finish their services by leaving your home broom clean, ready for the market or for you to relocate. Our goal is to sell at least seventy five to eighty percent of the sale items. Before You Moves writes and places advertisements in the Pennysaver and at least one local newspaper (usually the Pittsburgh Post Gazette). In addition to advertisement we use the internet and email to alert our extensive list of estate sale patrons about your sale. After the sale, Before You Move, Inc. offers packing assistance for unsold items. As an added service Before You Move can arrange for local charitable organizations retrieve leftover items to be used to bless others. In exchange for your tax deductible donation, Before You Move will provide you with a receipt for these goods for your tax records.

Wonderful And Very Smoothly
Description of Work: My sister was moving and had mush excess stuff to sell.It was a difficult situation as parking was very limited and tight.Sue took the time to explain the process and was very patient with my sister.The sale went fine,Sue and her crew set the sale up nicely and it almost looked like a store!We made some nice profit and both of us were pleased.I would hire before you move again if i was ever in need of such services.

i am very pleased
Description of Work: My sister needed a private estate sale by appointment due to parking issues.She was moving and had lots of excess stuff.Sue explained things to me and sis carefully and truthfully and was very patient with elderly sister.They did a great job organizing things and made it look great.Sale made a fair amount and it was left broom clean.I am happy we chose her to do the sale.

Description of Work: We called them to ask for an estimate. The owner responded to us within 24 hours, and set up an appointment for a few days later. She was running late that evening due to unusual traffic trouble, but called us from the road well ahead of time to alert us to that. She came and looked over what we had and told us that she could not in good conscience take us on since we did not have enough to guarantee her minimum. We very much appreciated her honesty. She recommended that we sell the items ourselves, and gave us lots of advice on specific pricing, placing ads, and general procedure. Very professional and helpful to us despite the fact that she spent time and energy and was paid nothing since we did not hire her. If we need her services in the future, and have ample items to meet her minimum, I would certainly hire her.

Description of Work: Sue was prompt with returning calls anytime we called her. Everyone that works for her was nice, courteous, and respectful. All work was done as promised. Everything that was promised was delivered! Clean out crew was efficient and helpful also. Sue and her staff came in 2 days before the sale to price everything in the house. With 3 floors including a garage, I thought it would take all day. It took them about 6 hours. I was very pleased with that. Sue had advertised the sale on her website about 1 month in advance. She received many inquiries prior to the sale. Saturday morning, the sale began at 8AM. There were people lining up outside as early as 7:15 waiting for the sale to begin. Sue took over at 8AM and wrapped everything up around 4PM. Most items, especially the big ticket items, were sold. The sale was extremely successful. We made a profit of around $2000. The next morning, the staff came back to make the house "broom clean". Anything that did not sale was carefully packed and hauled away. The floors were vacuumed and the garage was broom swept. The clean-up was just as important to my sister and me as the estate sale itself. Sue was very professional at all times. She is very knowledgeable. She is a very good source of information and has many connections in the estate sale business. I always felt that Sue was a person that I could trust. When all was said and done, she gave a detailed account of all the items sold at the sale.
Description of Work: My sister and I were in charge of my mother's estate. We were looking for an estate sale company that would efficiently set up and conduct a sale. We did not know where to begin. When should we have it? How much is everything worth? Who has the time to staff the sale? We wanted someone to come in and do everything for us.

I was very pleased with Before You Move. All of my concerns about Estate Sales were addressed and I was put at ease. Sue was on time and responsive to my phone calls and emails. I did attend one of her sales prior to meeting with her which she encouraged. I was impressed with her website and the number of fans/ followers she has. It was especially helpful having her at my house on the day of the sale - she is a force. Tough, but fair. Plus she was caring towards me and my family. Her pricing is competitive and I think fair given the services she provides. I highly recommend this company and if I need estate sale services in the future I will call her.
Description of Work: Before You Move Inc set up my estate sale and liquidated the items that didn't sell. Sue and her crew organized, staged, and priced all of the items in the house and ran the sale on a Saturday from 8A-3P.

They did a great job in getting my items sold. They came it staged and took care of everything...advertising, security, and Sue had very good contacts in getting my items sold. They were very professional, thorough, and knowledgable. I would highly recommend their services to others.

Description of Work: We have gone to many of their estate sales. The homes are well organized and well manned.The prices are set not too high and not too cheap. The amount of traffic tells the story. Theydon't price out the average buyer. That means they actually get more for the products because they sell a larger volume with less left over. We enjoy their sales.

My mother was admitted in Hospice care and she sold the property she had. The top to bottom estimation was done and they did everything from top to bottom because house had to be emptied by the beginning of this month and it should be ready for the next tenant. My mother had several different collections including dolls, art and many things like that and we had to got everything sold. We got our house completely cleaned and ready to be leased by the first of this month and everything was done. Everything came out as they could make in sale and they took a percentage of that as fees for the sale and for the cleanup. They were fine. She asked really good questions and she understood what kind of stuff we are looking at, which things might be valuable and which thing are probably not worth. She concentrated most effort in terms of sales and which things probably gonna end up in the dump and she began right away taking all the valuable items where she can get an idea from the assessor what the likely value it going to be and talked about the lower bid of self items and would it be the best things for sale. She asked the questions about the window curtains and other items were be the part of the property and many questions like that to make sure that to not sale the fine things actually supposed to stay with the property. They were very reasonable and the quality of work was excellent. She was on time there no difficulty in adjusting the time and two other people we considered being seeing, but one never showed up and another one showed up late. She was very punctual and she was always on time. Very professional, she really understood what we are doing and she kept asking questions and got the job done to me. She finished job on time. I will use them again in the future.

We had a full week of snow showers and 20-degree weather prior to the sale, and there were several inches of snow on top of the ice the day before. Because of the extreme weather conditions, Sue was unable to get the 13 people in the house for setup and pricing that she had arranged. The 7 people there (Sue plus 6 workers) worked for over 10 hours on Thursday to set up. They did an excellent job, under the circumstances. During this time, Sue brought us offers from some dealers for several specific items in the collection, and we were able to sell those pieces directly through her. In addition, she was willing to come several days before the setup to meet with our house buyer to allow the buyer to have first choice of the house items. While our family was debating keeping some items, Sue was flexible about allowing the distribution of items she had originally thought she would sell. On the sale day, her staff was jazzed up and ready for an active day, and, even through exceedingly cold & snowy weather, her advertising and prior contact of dealers brought several hundred people into the one-day sale. There were 50 people waiting on the sidewalk at 8am! All in all, the sale was very successful, with 2/3 of the items selling (an enormous amount of stuff!!). Closing the sale on Saturday afternoon, we counted the proceeds together for a rough count, and on Monday (first business day after the sale), she cut a check for our share of the proceeds. Very efficient, pleasant to work with, and professional. As with other estate sale companies, there is a minimum fee with a percentage paid above the minimum, so, the larger the sale (more items to sell), the better the percentage that the seller keeps.
Description of Work: Sue conducted an estate sale in our house, which was getting ready to go to settlement and needed to be cleared out. The 4-story house was filled with 63 years' of world travel collections, art supplies and artwork, etc. Prior to setting up the sale and pricing the thousands of items, Sue brought two art and collectible dealers who were qualified to appraise some specialty items. Her connections permitted her to contact specialty dealers (vintage clothing, art, and antique collectibles) who were prepared to purchase the items that may not sell at the highest price in a general sale. Two days before the sale, she brought 6 more people to set up the house and price the items. Among her staff are experts in pricing of various categories, such as glassware, antique furnishings and furniture, dolls, vintage clothing, etc. The sale itself was conducted from 8am-3pm on a Saturday. Sue's company conducts one-day estate sales.
