I was working in the basement and I was not able to get the spicket to shut off. The water was not just dripping it had a steady steam of water coming out of it. I attempted to shut the valve off but did not want to leave the valves shut off completely due to the artiic blast of extremely cold temptatures scheduled to be in the Pittsburgh for the next few days. I called George Bauers number that I obtained from Angie's List (I always turn to Angie's List to find good help). The dispatcher took my info and I received a prompt call back from George. He was able to be at my home in about 15 minutes and was able to correct the problem with the handle of the spicket for a very reasonable rate of $50 for an emergency call. I would recommend George A. Bauer Plumbing to my friends and neighbors.

I called Thursday evening around 9 PM and spoke to a very helpful receptionist. George returned my call within a half hour and said he would have someone at my home at 8:30 AM on Friday to accommodate my work schedule and take care of the problem. Doug, the plumber sent to handle the problem, called at 8:20 AM to let me know he would be arriving in 10 minutes. He arrived promptly at 8:30 and had the drain and catch baskets replaced by 10:00 AM. He was extremely professional and courteous and left my home neat and clean. I was not unhappy with the cost and felt it was reasonable, especially considering the short notice and the professionalism of everyone I had contact with from the call to the repair. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

I called on a Tuesday or Wednesday to have someone come give an estimate for running new lines for a sink and dishwasher in the kitchen. The receptionist was pleasant and I received a call from George within a few hours. He said he could come that Friday and would call me when he could give me a more exact time. That was the end of our contact. That was over two weeks ago, and I've heard nothing more.

I was visiting my family for Thanksgiving and learned that over time my sister's sink had started having delays in draining. I looked up plumbers on the site and called this company. A woman answered and took my name and contact information; I got a call back within about a half hour and was told that they had someone finishing a job close-by. From the time to my first call to the time that the arrived it was ~2 hours (on the day before Thanksgiving!) The tech who came to the house was prompt, thorough and professional. He snakes 25' down from the drain and explained what he thought the issue was (a point in the basement where 'new' and 'old' pipes made of different materials have gunk build-up over time). While doing the service he also noticed that the old trap beneath the sink is out-of-date from a plumbing code perspective, and might also be causing some of the problem. He gave an overview of what fixing it would entail and cost, and I will probably call them again to do the work. Very good experience overall; I was impressed.

Left a message to be called back immediately. Mr Bauer called, said he'd be there in about 1/2 hour and he was right on the dot. Came in checked out what needed to be done, worked efficiently, and was done in less than an hour. So thankful he could come at short notice. Now I will be able to make Thanksgiving dinner. I would recommend him and will certainly use him again.

I had contacted several plumbers to complete the job. All gave me an estimate (by phone) of approximately $175-200 to complete the work. I ultimately chose George Bauer plumbing to complete the job. I called the answering service and received a return phone call from George in under 30 minutes. Told me that he'd send someone out to my property the next day, and that whomever was coming would call in advance (was unable to give exact ETA). The next day, I received a call from the plumber who asked if I was home for him to come and complete the work. He arrived shortly thereafter and completed the work in approximately 30-45 minutes.

George and his crew where prompt and able to do all this work in a 4-5 hour window when we were at a point of having a leaking water heater. George looked at the entire water system, tested the pressure and made recommendations of what HE would do: Install a replacement water heater or install a tankless one (which is what I wanted originally). He recommended that I go with a cheaper option to replace the water tank. He could do either that day. I decided to go with the tankless system for a cheaper operating cost, tank replacement concerns and environmental issues. My water heater was leaking every 3-4 years as a result of a salt-based water softener I need to have. That is no longer a concern as the softener is actually a plus for tankless heaters. I only use the hot water I need and there is A LOT of it. The only down side is that it takes a bit longe to get hot when first use. The crew was very polite, neat and cleaned up nicely. George called the next day to see how things were going - who does that anymore? -Jim

Especially considering the circumstances, I was extremely pleased with their quick response to check out my problem. It happened late in the day and while I had already shut off the water to the house not knowing where the issue was, George was able to get a crew to my house right away in order to add a shut off valve so that I could have some running water in the house for the night (very helpful!). His crew was then back right away the next morning to investigate and start fixing the issue. The leak was under a tub which is very old and they had to use some extra effort to get the parts needed to get it fixed. Everyone was extremely professional and the work was completed to my satisfaction. I definitely have found a new plumber for any future work!

I called on Saturday and talked with George, he gave me an approximate cost and said he'd reach out to his vendor to get a final estimate, I was planning to have the work done Monday. He called back on Sunday to tell me he hadn't been able to get in touch with his vendor, and that he'd call back Monday morning. He called back Monday morning with a final estimate, I accepted, and Pat and Andrew arrived about an hour later, and the work was finished about an hour after that. Everyone I talked to was very nice, I would happily use George and team again for any work.

Second time we used George. Just replaced a ½" valve in the laundry room that feeds the outside garden hose. His guys were right on time, quick job, good work.

Just had George's people in the week before for a small job. Driveway contractor uncovered a broken sewer line while removing the old slabs. George came up immediately to a**** the situation. He ordered materials and had his men scheduled to make the repair right after a major storm blew through. They arrived as promised, installed the new pipe with no problems and I did not have to delay the concrete work. Price was very fair for the service provided and the time it was provided in. This was one of those occasions where labor for 2 men was less than the materials....8" pvc pipe and fittings, Ouch!

I called and someone called me back within an hour. Two plumbers arrived within 3 hrs and did the work and clean-up. Explained everything and taught me some things along the way. Job done in 3 hrs or so, including clean-up. I couldn't have asked for more efficient, effective service in a minor emergency, and was pleasantly surprised with the price, though I have nothing to compare it to. Also gave me some advice on maintenance considering the age of the house.

Prompt, excellent service. It was done in several hours. Even used discount online. Will certainly use them again.

When I was finishing up this rental unit I made the mistake of buying the cheapest facet at Home Depot. I didn't realize it was entirely made out of plastic. After about a year of use it cracked and started to spray water from parts of the facet that shouldn't spray water... I called George and he was able to send someone out quickly and install the new facet that i purchased. George coordinated with my tenants, went out to the house, installed the facet and found a small leak in the garbage disposal. They re-installed the garbage disposal properly and eliminated the leak. George and his team are always professional and easy to work with. This is the third time i have used them and I am yet again impressed with how easy it is to deal with them. These guys do it right and are reasonably priced considering the service. Thanks George!

I could not be more pleased excellent work showed me everything they did . also on time and friendly a complete professional plumber I will be glad to call them again to have work done if I need it. Also called me back the next day to make sure everything was operating correctly. It is nice to see a professional job done at a good price and done right the first time these days.

On Monday evening, when I returned from work, I discovered that my basement bathroom had backed up. Sewage had backed up out of the toilet and the basement shower had sewage water backing up in it. I couldn't use any toilet in the house. I tried calling a plumber that I used once before that said they offered emergency service, but there was no answer and no option to leave a message. So I quickly searched Angie's List for someone to call. I called Bauer Plumbing around 6:40 pm and the answering service took my information and said I would receive a call shortly - which I did. George responded very quickly and asked me to describe the problem to him. He said he would call right back to see when someone could get to my home. About 10 minutes later he called back and said someone would be out around 8 pm (less than one hour wait time). The plumbers arrived on time and they were terrific. Andy and Doug explained what they were going to do and checked in with me with each attempt to clear the clog. First they tried to clear it by running a snake down the shower drain, then by lifting the toilet and snaking, but that didn't work. Then they snaked the basement floor drain 30 feet which finally cleared the clog. They did an excellent job cleaning the bathroom shower, toilet and floor. They were great! Up till now I didn't have a plumber that I felt I would consistently call on. George Bauer's phone number is now on my refrigerator as the only plumber to call.

We had a leaking bathtub faucet that turned into full stream of water at about 11:00 p.m. We shut the water off to the house until we could find a plumber. After reviewing Angie's List I called George Bauer Plumbing first thing in the morning. I got a call right back from George and 2 plumbers were there in an hour. They replaced the shower faucet which involved removing the master bathroom vanity, sink, cutting a hole in the wall to access the tub/shower faucet in the hallway bath. They cut the faucet out and installed a Moen single handle faucet connecting it to the existing 1/2 copper piping. The re-installed the sink and vanity and checked for leaks. I had no idea they were going to have to do anything to the other bathroom or cut a whole in the wall. They cleaned everything up and the workmanship was exceptional.

Last week, we smelled natural gas in our home, and after the gas company came and investigated, they found numerous small leaks and shut off our gas. We didn't hesitate to call Bauer Plumbing. George Bauer Plumbing has done work in our home before, and he has earned our trust and customer loyalty. We called late afternoon Wednesday and were told that someone would be at our home the next morning. At 8:21 a.m. Thursday, two young men (so sorry, don't remember names!) arrived, and after his investigation, he gave me a price to completely replace the inside gas line ($1,450.00). He also gave us the option to have him repair several of the leaks and incorrect connections found by the gas company, but told us that once the line was pressured up again, it might STILL leak and we'd have to go back to the drawing board. We quickly made the decision to replace the line completely, and these two young men went to WORK! They worked until almost 4:30 pm and when they finished, they left our basement clean, neat, and had our gas turned back on that afternoon. The final price was exactly as had been estimated. No surprises. I've had bad experiences in the past with big plumbing companies who try to up-sale you as soon as they walk in your door and scare you into spending your life savings. This is NOT the case with Bauer Plumbing. They are honest, hard working, and dependable. Their prices are reasonable and we are so grateful to know that if we have a plumbing problem in our home, we know exactly who to call and that we can depend on them to help us out!

Excellent! I received two quotes for what I wanted done. The difference in the quotes was 25.00, but George was able to offer a discount which to me made the difference. George and his crew completed the entire job in one day, but while draining out the radiators (water heat), one of the drain plugs broke off. It was fixed the next day and everything has been going good since. George and his crew were very personable and professional and was an "enjoyable" experience for me. I would recommend George Bauer Plumbing without any hesitation.

Called on a weekend and George returned call within the hour. Was willing to come out that same day--On a weekend!!!! However we were going out of town and set up time for when we would be back- which was Tuesday. There were very prompt with arrival.George explained cost of repair versus replacement. They were able replace water heater that same day with cleanup haul away . I was very impressed with the efficiency their work and the friendliness and professional attitude of the plumbers.
