Anytime Sewer and Drain

Cliff came out on a Saturday to look at a sewer backup in my garage. He took a look at my drains and determined that roots were growing into my sewer line (old terracotta pipes). After a couple of hours or work, the pipes were cleared out and everything is working fine. He suggested that I use a sewer treatment chemical twice per year to keep the roots back, but advised against the brands carried in Home Depot and Lowes in favor of what a local hardware store would carry. He spent the time explaining how to do the treatment and what schedule to keep, which (hopefully) will save me lots of money in the future. After looking in stores, I ended up buying a 10 lb bag of Copper Sulfate Pentahydrarte on amazon.com, which was a much better deal than I could find locally.

Cliff and his assistant were great! They were at our house within 2-3 hours of first speaking on the phone. They really took their time in clearing the drains and making sure that there weren't blockages at other points in the drainage system. They even used the hose to clean the garage and the driveway of the debris that accompanied the drain overflow. Cliff was kind enough to stick around long enough to talk me through everything they had done and to offer some great advice on some preventative measures we can to take to avoid future issues with the drains. Terrific work guys!

He was very courteous and punctual. He came home early from a short holiday vacation with his family to take care of my needs and also other customers.

Final bill was almost $500. higher than estimate. Company told me that he needed more help on his second trip. That help was provided by his wife who handed him tools as needed even though I was there to help if needed. Excess costs were just throw in to make more money by adding his wife. Ridiculous

I thought it was a reasonable price. I like that they were professional, they did it right away, they were able to quickly address the issue and they were accommodating to my schedule.

As I stated above Cliff was at my house within 15 minutes of speaking with him on the phone. He took a look at the problem and quickly took care of the problem (unclogging the drain with a sewer snake). I think he was here for about 40-45 minutes and then he was off to the next job. I was very happy with his service and price. I had considered renting a snake and clearing the drain myself, but I'm pretty sure that doing it myself would have cost more than it did to have him do it. I will certainly call him back for any future plumbing problems.

Replaced a leaking shutoff valve; re-routed a bunch of plumbing to resolve a years old issue of a water tank that was installed incorrectly (reversed cold/hot) by another plumber. The symptom was running out of hot water after a shower and since Cliff was able to fix it as well as install a new expansion tank, the hot water seems infinite. Great work, great price, very clean, on time!

We were getting ready to go to North Carolina, and needed to stop the leaks before we left. Last year I had called Cliff, based on his Angie's List reviews, because we had a blocked pipe. He fixed it in a short period of time, and gave us an Angie's List discount. We called him a few days prior to our departure, told him what was wrong and that we were on a tight schedule, and he came the next morning. He and his helper got right to work and worked for four or five hours to get the job done. This is a very small bathroom and with both of them in there, it was way overcrowded. And hot. They encountered a few problems but worked really hard and were able to repair everything. We were more than happy with the results, and with Cliff, who is a very nice person. End of story? Not quite....as the regulator on the waterline coming into the house went bad very suddenly Friday night, and running the water or flushing a toilet made the loudest noise I ever heard inside a house. I was at the sink to wash my hands and when I turned the water on, out of nowhere came this noise that sounded like someone was using a jack hammer under the sink. I must have jumped about 10 feet it scared me so badly. Early yesterday morning I called Cliff and he said he'd be here in half an hour. He came, listened to the noise, tested the water pressure, and said the regulator was bad. He replaced it and all is well once again. I asked him if he always worked on Saturdays, and he said he works every day. He certainly knows what he's doing, tells you exactly what is wrong so that you understand the problem, and gets to work. Did I mention that he is a very nice guy?

Repaving driveway this coming spring. Needed to see if there were any strom drain or sewer problems before I excavate.

It was pretty good. He's been back today to check and see if there's any leakage.

Cliff's office manager replied to my initial email within hours after it was sent and I spoke to Cliff by phone that evening to arrange for him to come out the following evening to give an estimate. Based on his estimate, we set up a Saturday appointment for him to do the work. Evenings and weekends are the only time I'm available to be home for this type of situation and Cliff was extremely accommodating. Cliff seemed invested in doing the work appropriately and in the interests of saving me money if possible, but not at the expense of quality work. Of great importance to me was Cliff's responsiveness, promptness, and his reliability. This plumber actually does what he says he will do -- be it return calls or follow the job plan as stated. In my experience, Cliff does everything a businessman/tradesman ought to do in order to build trust, credibility, and most of all, repeat business. He'll have mine.

We sent an email to them at 8:30PM and by 11:30AM the next day, they arrived and fixed the problems.We needed a new toilet and they also suggested several brands that they have had good experience with.

Cliff was at my house within hours of my phone call. He immediately identified the problem, gave me a quote for the job, and went to work fixing my problem within about 30 minutes. He was honest and didn't try to take advantage of the situation and try to sell me more than what I needed. Not only did he fix my problem, he informed me about how different aspects of the plumbing worked around my house, which was nice for me, just having moved into the house recently. In addition, after the initial job was done, he inspected two other separate concerns of mine and gave me tips on how to address those on my own. Great experience. I've found the plumber I will use again without a doubt.

On Saturday, April 28, 2012, at about 10:00 PM, my daughter called and said her basement at her house in Monroeville was flooded with sewage due to a drain backup. This problem had occurred in November 2010 and been cleared by a plumbing company that charged about $270. I called that company, and found that they do not make emergency calls and only work during regular business hours on weekdays.So, on Sunday morning at about 9:00AM, we called Anytime Sewer and Drain Cleaning and spoke to Cliff. We had to go to church and a birthday dinner for my son, so Cliff from Anytime said he would come out about 2:00 PM that afternoon. Cliff arrived promptly, and first spent some time investigating the whole situation. He checked out the line with his equipment and concluded that there was probably a bad connection from the house to the outside sewer line, and some broken pipe. He cleared out the immediate clog, and said that he would need to do some excavating to determine the whole problem. At that point, he had been there about three hours, and said that the charge would be about $150. Since we want to refinish the basement, and don't want the problem happening again, we asked Cliff to come back as soon as possible. It was raining Monday, so he came back on Tuesday and began excavating. He dug down to the outside line (about 3 to 4 feet down) and found that there was indeed broken terracotta pipe for about 10 or 12 feet and that the house trap had been buried under loads of gravel in the driveway. He also found that the pipe in the house had been replaced with PVC, but whoever had done the work had stopped about three feet inside the garage and made a bad connection to the old terracotta pipe. So, he had to break thourgh the concrete garage floor to fix that mess. He ended up replacing about 15 feet of broken terracotta with PVC, replacing and relocating the house trap, removing some old illegal connections from the house downspouts, making all the new connections properly, and setting us up to put in a catch basin for storm water. He thoroughly checked and tested all of his work to our satisfaction. He also filled in and cleaned up the trench and replaced the part of the garage floor that was excavated. He was probably there about 10 or 11 hours on Tuesday. The total he charged for everything, including the work he had done on Sunday and all materials, was $1279. I feel that was a very reasonable charge and am very pleased with the work.

Had what I believed was a clog in main sewer. Chose from the list of providers, by ratings and customer comments. The problem was first noticed on sunday. I attempted to clean drains and sewer myself using snake. I waited until mid morning monday before calling Anytime Sewer and drain cleaning. Called, left a message and got a return call within a half hour. Cliff said,he could be here in an hour. He showed up within the hour and after a brief explanation of the problem,he began to investigate.This is an old house with older additions. I appreciate Cliffs patience with me watching over his shoulder asking questions all during the process. He cleared the clog with an electric snake.I believe he was here for about two hours. Most of the time was spent trying to figure out how the pipes in this old house were connected to each other. He offered to return to perform a dye test,since he did not have materials with him at that time. Since his visit ,I had time to question my partner and discovered that the city had in fact done a dye test on the house several years ago and confirmed that every thing was draining properly. When work was complete, he intended to clean up,but while he loaded is equipment into his van, I ran a quick mop around the area... no problem. Thanks Cliff, for being prompt, patient, professional and reasonably priced!

Cliff was prompt in getting to the job and had volunteered to set-up the appointment directly with my tenant. The final price was less that what he originally quoted me as an estimate. The tenant was pleased with the results of his repairs and I am likewise. I have another job awaiting Cliff's attention, and am confident it will be handled in a professional and timely manner.

Everything went well, but I chose another firm with a lower price.

I had a very good experience with Anytime Sewer and Drain Cleaning from the initial phone call to completion of the work. Cliff is very professional, did excellent work and was willing to come when it was convenient for me.

Called on Saturday morning with a clogged sink that was deeper into the plumbing than the typical clogged trap. Cliff called back within a half-hour or so and was here within an hour. He quickly and professionally cleared the drain, reassembled the plumbing and cleaned up the resulting mess. I was very pleased with the responsiveness and efficiency of his work.

Urgent Update - Cliff, owner of Anytime Drain, just came by my house to harass me about my complaint listed here. He was surly and rude and purposely took his time leaving my property (pulled his shoe off, said "just stopping to put my shoe on" before leaving. He also re-opened my door to throw papers at me after I had closed it. Very threatening behavour. I called Angie's list because my wife is terrified! They told me they can't protect us from a contractor doing this - How nice of them! All members should be made aware that when you lodge a complaint on Angies List any nut-bar can access all your information, then come to your door and harass you (or worse?). Why anyone would even attempt to contact this company for service is beyond me! Called for an urgent drain problem. Tech set a time/date of later that day to come out. Called me last minute to cancel (after re-arranging my busy schedule. Told me they would come out next biz day (Monday) but never even called again.I was able to gather from the conversation with the tech that the current job he was on was far more profitable for him (commercial building - water heaters). .Very unprofessional!

I contacted this company because it had received such good reviews on Angies List, and I now understand why they got such good reviews. While the name of the company might suggest they mainly do sewer and drain cleaning, they actually do any type of plumbing repairs. They responded to my email promptly, and scheduled a service appointment for within two days. The two individuals who came (I believe they are a husband and wife team) were very friendly and professional. One got to work on the toilets while the other took care of the laundry tub and gas line. Both worked non-stop for about 2 1/2 hours. They did an excellent job on everything, and were very clean and neat. When I subsequently had the gas log fireplace installed, the company that did it indicated that a good job had been done on the gas line and it was placed perfectly for them to connect the fireplace. I would definitely use this company again and would recommend it to others.
